PLEASE make pixel bender plugin available to PS CS6

the integrated filter version does not work exactly as the pluging version for CS5 , and does not provide artistic conituity for the works.
Please make the installer available.. Thanks

Never mind - I just realized this information is available via ExifMeta (plugin) - I retract the request for personal purposes.
Still, it might be worth consideration for people who don't use ExifMeta.

• Photoshop Pixel Bender Plugin Error (CS5 keeps closing)

I'm having an issue with photoshop cs5. I downloaded the Pixel Bender plugin from Adobes website and installed it exactly how it says to, yet everytime I go to click on it an error box comes up saying it encountered a problem and needs to close the program. Here is a quick video of what it's doing.

I read something about the GL thing or gpu thing having o be enabled in photoshop, well it wont let me check that box. Someone also told me that my video probably doesn't support this plugin. I'm running this on my dell inspiron 1501 that's about 6 years old. Any ideas guys? I really like the way this plugin looks and i'm gonna to be very dissipointed with my computer, photoshop, and adobe in general if I can't get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
EDIT : The video card I'm using is an ATI Radeo Xpress 1150. From the list of video cards that pixel bender works on it doesn't appear that my video card supports it. Can anyone confirm this for me? Thanks

Yeah, the graphics driver is incompatible. That is nothing anyone can change. PB is legacy tech, anyway. You could try this, if it's realyl close to your heart:
http://aescripts.com/pixel-bender-accelerator/
Otherwise I wouldn't bother. Most PB filters are nothing more than half-baked tech demos and I wouldn't consider them usable for production purposes.

• Please make 13.1 update available to full license holders!!

Please make 13.1 update available to full license holders!!
Hi all. Will there be no 13.1 update for full license purchasers in the near future?? If there is no plan to do so please change that policy and make it available to us. It feels like a snub for buying rather than renting. Renting is not the best option for some of us for various reasons including shakey finances etc. Will we have to wait for a new version and then upgrade? Are you phasing us out? Why not make it available to us as a mini upgrade like CS5 to CS5.1? Not feeling loved, Uhane

It is a little disconcerting that you can pay $1300 and be treated as a second class customer
I think you just hit the nail on the head.  It's about losing power as consumers.
In the past, buying a Perpetual license, e.g. for the Creative Suite, traditionally got we the best software.  We all feel shelling out a big wad of cash up front should be worth a lot to the people we're buying from.
Now Adobe has found a way to make even more money by hiding the true cost in monthly payments while at the same time increasing the value of the software in some ways (and reducing it in others).  Of course they're only going to tout the increases, to help sell subscriptions.
Those of us now with Perpetual licenses see that we no longer have the best software, yet traditionally we have always found that paying a lot of money up front has always been the way to get the best.  In this change lies the disconnect.
Waving a big wad of cash around is no longer the most powerful way to weild your consumer power.
Making a committment to pay every month forever more trumps it.
When you think about the financial details, it's no surprise that those who are willing to commit to paying Adobe every month -  utimately shelling out more by giving up the option to skip future updates, get the best software.  Adobe has valuable software and essentially no competition.  You can't blame them for making the most of it.
We all grumble at those making money off us a bit at a time.  Do you love your bank?  Your cell phone provider?

• Pixel Bender only available for jpg files?

I'm running Photoshop CS5 on a brand new macbook. Everything has been working fine. I recently installed Pixel Bender and started playing with it. It seems to work fine on .jpg files, but whenever I open any PSD files, (or raw files from my Nikon) the Pixel Bender menu item is grayed out. I'm sure I am doing something wrong, but can't for the life of me figure out what that might be. I read that the filter needs to be applied to a smart object, so I tried creating a new layer and converted it to a smart object. But still the PB menu item is unavailable!! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Mode is RGB and 8 bits.
However, it appears that the problem has gone away. I did uninstall and reinstall the exention.  It must have been an anomoly because I can not reproduce the issue. Thanks for your attention to this issue. Regards.

• Please make average peak minutes available on website

You've developed a sophisticated new interface with great tools, but for some reason you chose not to make peak minutes available at a glance on past invoices. When a customer is logged in and selects "My Bill", and selects "Analyze Usage", a customer would expect to see "peak minutes" for that billing period. Unfortunately, you have 14 options available from the drop down menu, none of which give information on PEAK MINUTES. The best option is "Minutes by Usage Type" but amazingly, you do not list peak minutes there either.
Either this is an unfortunate oversight that should be fixed immediately, or it's a very manipulative way to prevent consumers to clearly identify their peak minutes at a glance, when so much other useless information is readily available. I don't like being manipulated like that. It's enough that you don't offer some kind of plan for the average consumer at 1000 peak minutes a month, and then to not make peak minutes available at a glance on past billing, and to not make average peak minutes available at all, is enough for me to consider moving on to another provider who will better meet my needs.
Not sure you're worth one extra bar anymore.

Thanks for your suggestion. I passed your suggestion along for further assistance in making the website more user friendly!

• Pixel Bender Plug-Ins in AE CS6

Hi,
i just noticed that my Pixel Bender Plug-ins do not show up in the Effects and Presets Area in my AE CS6.
I copied the *.pbg files into the Plug-ins-Directory of AE CS6.
What's the problem here?
Thanks.

I think one of the main points of Pixel Bender was, that everybody could code
some quick'n'dirty tool and use it right within After Effects. There have been
a lot of new, simple tools that where never created when SDK was around.
It's really sad that this possibility disappears now. If you want to let people
move to the SDK I hope you will provide really simplified wizards and an
excellent development UI integration. Not having a C/C++ background makes
it almost impossible to set up everything correctly to compile for example
a simple color transformation plugin with GPU acceleration.
Nevertheless it would be a miracle if PB gets released as Open Source,
from the amount of feedback this would be an excellent solution keeping
and even extending the possibilities of todays complex production pipelines.

• Please, please, please make ICC profile info available for RGB files.

I know, I know, I know - if everything's working properly one should never care what the icc profile is that's being used to interpret the colors in a file. And good people shouldn't get killed by falling tree branches... but stuff happens, and sometimes icc profiles are not handled properly and colors are off because the wrong profile is being used or is absent and assumed to be sRGB when that is not correct.
Photographers care about color and nothing is more important than the ICC profile when it comes to properly displaying colors.
I'd also like to see the ability to assign an ICC profile, swap an ICC profile, and convert to specified ICC profile. But I'd be happy enough just to have the icc profile name displayed - I could take it from there...
PS - I'd like to see this feature removed in ten years (I'm an optimist) after all image handling software handles icc profiles correctly, until then... (please).
Thanks in advance,
Rob

• Could the team at iTunes please make purchasing tv shows available in New Zealand?

I have heard that other countries ie. America and Australia are abe to purchase tv shows online and I think that it would be great if the team at iTunes could make this possible in New Zealand? Could the team at iTunes at least consider it? I think it would be a really great feature to improve iTunes in New Zealand.

We are just fellow users here, these forums are not monitored by Apple. If you want to try requesting content then you can try this link : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html . But Apple can only sell what the licence/copyright holders allow them to (and sometimes there are country's laws as well) - so if they havn't got permission to sell something in New Zealand then they can't sell it

• Where´s Pixel Bender Photoshop CS4 Plugin?

Hi,
Some days ago I published a Photoshop tutorial about creating fractals with Fractal Explorer (a Pixel Bender filter).
At that time, at the Pixel Bender page there was a link to Pixel Bender Plugin for Photoshop CS4 under Archived Downloads.
Now, that page was redesigned and that link is no longer there.
Many of my visitors own CS4 and need to download that version.
Can anybody help me locate a link to Pixel Bender Plugin for Photoshop CS4?
Thanks!

• Pixel Bender is NOT installing Please help!

I have The Creative Suite Version 5.5, which includes Photoshop CS 5.1. I'm trying to install the Pixel Bender Plugin for Photoshop CS5.1. I run at x64 bit and I'm attempting to install the correct plugin version. However, when I double click on the MXP file it opens up Adobe Extensions Manager 5.5 and goes through the process to install the plugin, when finished, the plugin isn't listed on the Extensions Manager. I don't get a error or any kind. The plugin simply doesn't show up. I have restarted my computer, downloaded the latest version of Adobe Air and Flash Player. I have repaired permissions on my computer. I'm really at a loss here. Can anyone help? Oh and I'm Running a Mac with Lion. Thank you in advance.

I spent all day yesterday trying to install PB into my PS5, and it will not work. Then I got smart and started to search the forums, and it has been DISCONTINUED!  This means that you cannot get it to work.
Though I did see someone say that you can get PB into PS3. Which I still have, so we are awaiting to see if anyone on those forums has any info on that.
Oil Paint, which is the one filter in PB that we all want, has been put into PS6 as an included filter. But we are awaiting some of our classmates who have already updated to PS6, to tell us if they like it. I wont upgrade to the new version yet.
I realize that this forum has not been added to for a year, but hope my answer helps those of us who are really interested in Oil Paint.

• Pixel Bender in CS4

A friend of mine told me he thinks Pixel Bender will work in CS4. Does anyone know if it will? Also, I don't have Creative Premium. Would this make a difference?
Thanks in advance for any info.

The Pixel Bender plugin for Photoshop CS4 is still available at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/pixelbender.html. Pixel Bender filters will work in both After Effects CS4 and Photoshop CS4.

• Where can I get Oil Paint filter for Pixel Bender?

Hi, I had to reinstall my CS4 after a system disk crash, and now I cannot find free Oil Paint filter for Pixel Bender plugin. It is not included in a new version of the plugin available for download. Where can I download the old version or only the Oil Paint filter file to restore my working software configuration? (Photoshop Extended CS4, 64-bit)

It was removed, you can only use it in the previous version: Photoshop: Spring Cleaning | PHOTOSHOP.COM BLOG
