Please please please help! 17,900 photos from iPhoto missing!!!

I just recently tried moving my entire iPhoto library (17,900 photos) to my google drive. Once I tried opening them from my google drive and iPhoto app…the thumbnails are there but none of the actual pictures. I even tried moving iPhoto off my my google drive and back to the applications menu Any suggestions? Please help!

you can not do that - google drive is not an appropriate location for your iphoto library and will not work
the iphoto library must only be on a local drive  - and the iphoto library can not be in the "Applications Menu" - what ever that is - it should be in the pictures folder on your main hard drive or on an external drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) that is directly connected to your Mac with a fast wired connection

  • Help to move photos from iphoto on imac back to sd card

I always import my photos from sd card to iphoto and then delete them from sd card.  I bought a digital frame that can only be loaded using an sd card.  I have selected the pictures i want to put on the frame.  I put the pictures in a folder on my desktop as well as in an album, but can't transfer them to the sd card.  Can anyone offer suggestions please.  Thank you.

Mount the unlocked SD card to the desktop and drag the folder of photos to it

  • Why are photos from iphoto missing even though I havent deleted any?

I uploaded quite a few photos to facebook via iphoto a long time ago. Recently people have been asking me where they are. When I logged into facebook, i noticed they were gone and also when I loaded iPhoto they were gone.
I would love to know why this is happening as those photos are really important.

I have a similar situation.  If you don't mind losing those photos, you can go to: Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup and then click on "Stop Restoring iPhone."  You'll lose those photos, but you can move on from there.

Select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder (file menu ==> export) - see this user tip for export options - then be sure the card is not locked and in the finder verify available space and if it is adaquate drag that folder to it

  • I cannot upload photos from iPhoto 9 to Flikr. When I attempt to do so, I get the message "the login details or auth token passed were invalid." Please help.

I cannot upload photos from iPhoto 9 to Flikr. When I try, I get the message "the login details or auth token passed were invalid."  I am using iPhoto 9 version 8.1.2, and my OS is 10.9.5. My computer is a MacBook Pro. I do not have this trouble with my iMac.  This trouble started before I updated to OS10.9.5.  I do not have this problem when uploading to FaceBook or sending by e-mail.
This problem started when I tried to upload some photos after hitting the "use other account" tab. This took me to a Flikr site asking me for permission to make my iPhoto information available to others.  I clicked "yes," and then I changed my mind and clicked "no." I haven't been able to upload to Flikr since.
I searched Flikr and Yahoo for a solution, and Yahoo says the trouble is in iPhoto.  I checked my Flikr account, and iPhoto extensions are enabled.
I need to upload some school and alumni photos, so I sure could use some help. I am Not computer proficient.  Thank you.

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

  • Can some-one please tell me how to transfer photos from my ipad to my macbook air ? thanks

Can some-one please tell me how to transfer photos from my ipad to my macbook air ? thanks

To copy photos to your Mac that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you can use Image Capture, iPhoto and Aperture.
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

What do you mean? Are you not able to switch from "All pages" view of the book to a single page view by double-clicking a selected page? Or what is the problem?
Or can you not open the book at all from the source list?

I have deleted photos from iPhoto trash but apparently still have 82GB of photos which I cannot see or delete - any help would be much appreciated

check the overall trash on the 'dock'.when files are deleted from programmes, they always go to the general 'Trash'  as general files and you will need to delete form there as well. if there is still a lot of missing files taking up space try reloading or deleting 'Iphoto' and uploading again.

    iPhoto Menu -> Preferences -> Accounts ->
Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them.
