Therefore Ivan should post in may be a bit more detail what exactly you are looking for in point 2 and 5 and with Brian I see some double points coming in his direction, if no one beats him to the punch.

I don't think it is the firewall.  I am going to paste in  a copy of my wireshark log which proves that there is two way communication with the blackberry.net domain (kinda hard to see).
