I also have had troubles with this update. It would not install so I shut down and tried to this morning. It continued to stay on the gray screen with the loading wheel. I left it there loading when I left the house because it didn't finish. I am thinking of running Disk Utility when I get back home.
The reason for this post is I have been looking on the forums to many posts about this and I am getting lost on the exact way about going about getting this installer to work and everything to run smooth. If you have gotten it to work correctly or know a way to run it correctly please post here what you did. It would be the greatest help and would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!

This really isn't going to be much help for you, Kyle, because all I did was Click Software Update and hit install. That's pretty much all I ever do. I do have a cloned backup so restoration is trivial perhaps explaining the casual approach but that said, never had to restore either.

i was so glad i found a link to the post topic!!!
well anyways...
i have a ibook g4 12" 1.33Ghz and i have a problem with my screen
well one of my friends were playing with my ibook when he dropped it and the screen opened in a line( like a 180 degree)
the screen works just fine but on the bottom screen of my ibook there is a huge gap bewteen the screen and the lcd panel/screen holder
and now i can't even close my ibook unless i practically sit on it
well not sit but push really hard
and when i do get a chance to close it the screen looks lopsided
well i bought this ibook in South Korea about 6 months ago
and i was wondering if i can get it fixed or fix it myself
and can you please estimate how much it would cost
p.s. i only have the ibook, ac adapter, battery, OS X tiger dvd install, ilife 05', and a mighty mouse
i still have the manual for the ibook and the OS X Tiger but i dont know how the warranty paper looks like
oh yeah... and my mighty mouse is wired and there seems to be a problem with the scrolling button. it wont scroll down sometimes and i also bought it 6 moths ago.
can i also exchange it too???
an estimated price would be perfect for suggestion.

Ouch, no idea about fixing that yourself. Do you have an Apple store within driving range? If you do, likely just take it there and tell them what happened.

I need to know if it is possible to use C3PO's in the GroupWise 7 Cross
Platform Client?

It's even mentioned in the API reference, section "LrView text properties":
height_in_lines : (Read-Only)
    Calculates the minimum height using this as the number of lines
    that should fit. If height_in_lines is set to -1, and width or

E-business database migration to linux (Cross platform) using datapump

Have anyone used parallel=? option of datapump when migrating e-business database (cross platform) during export (expdp) and import (impdp).

You can use this option, just consider not using a high number to avoid ORA-31693 errors.

RMAN Full Database restore cross platforms

I have a database 10.2.0.3 running on Solaris 10 OS.
I have performed a full back up (level 0) of this database using rman utility with auto back up on. I am trying to worl on a scenario where I could restore this backup on another linux machine. so I copied over all the backup pieces into the target linux server. from a local RDBMS installation (10.2.0.3) on the linux machine I am trying to restore the database... but not successful yet..
when I issue restore spfile or restore control file from +<backup file name>+; the prompt continues to search in some location is responding back saying no back up piece found.. below is the sequece of step I am trying ..
1 set up env on the linux server
2 rman target /
(instance not started but rman allows connection)
3 set DBID=+<DB ID of the source database running on Solaris>+
it executes set dbid=
4 startup nomount
as the pfile/spfile is not available under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs on linux machine it picks up default pfile however but the instance stars no mount..
5 restore spfile from '/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/rman_bkp/c-300009955'
here it is not able to restore any thing.same is the case with control file.
Any ideas please advice

I understand if we are ready to transport every tablespace from Source to Target individually, may then be able to replicate a transportable database. Does the transportable tablespace do not have any restrictions like the transport database has got in respect to Platforms and Endian? Please clarify.
Also is there a support matrix for thr transportable database and tablespaces which we could refer to ?

The same restriction that is there for the transport of the whole database lies completely true for the transportable tablespace as well if you are going for the cross platform. Endian must match across the platforms than only you can do this otherwise, as like the database feature, you need to convert the source file to the target endian.
If you look at the reference doc for the Trasnport Tablespace command,

HP LaserJet 1022 Printing Problems - Please Post Here

Sorry, I hate to create a new thread, but tracking so many different threads on this one issue is becoming problematic for me. So with that being said, if you are still having a problem with printing to a LaserJet 1022 after the full uninstall I detailed in the FAQ thread followed by installing version 2.2 of the HP driver package, then let me know here. And specifically I want to know is which device you have, how your device is connected, the print driver version, and what apps are giving you problems. In my own personal testing, here is what I have found:
USB direct connect - OK, I have yet to run into a problem here.
USB connected to an Airport Extreme N - OK, I have yet to run into a problem here.
USB connected to an Airport Express G - Paused problem. I got print job/page out and then the printer paused and would not resume. I don't have a functioning work around here yet, but I'm trying.
So if I were going to fill out my own form, it would look like this:
Printer: LaserJet 1022n
Connection: USB connected to an Airport Express G (Firmware version 6.3)
Driver Version: 1.1.0.182
Apps: All
Problem Description: Printer queue goes into a Paused mode and won't resume
And to get you started, I have left a blank template at the end of this post.
Also please make sure to include whether you have the 1022, 1022n, or 1022nw AND how it is connected to your Mac. If users of the 1020, what to chime in on this thread that is OK. Anyone else, please post in the FAQ thread or a different device specific thread. As the 1022 seems to be the most problematic at the moment, I'd like to track this down as quickly as possible.

why not using export/import (common Oracle tools) or use GoldenGate which allows you to migrate a production database w/o downtime.

Cross platform "work around?"

I've done some searching, so I know the answer to cross platform product transfers is a resounding no. I have a mac and I originally bought CS5 for Windows a few years ago when I had a PC. The PC has since died. It appears there's a few ways mac users can switch between running OSX and Windows on their Macs though. My question is, if you ran the Windows operating system on a Mac, would you be able to install /use a Windows CS5 disc on your mac at that point? Theoretically it would seem possible. Anyone have any experience with this?

Just remember that Virtual machines and machine emulation does not perform as well as running a programs in it native environment. Also some things may not work exactly like the should. If you hace a PC CS5 licence you can upgrade that to Mac Photoshop CS6 standard for $200 or Extended for $400

when i sync my iphone to my computer to update my music, it syncs as normal to my phone but it re-arranges the most played songs and puts them at the bottom of the app rather in the exact order its appearing as in itunes. this only started happening when i updated to the new iOS platform. can somebody else? i need them to sync so that my most played songs remain at the top and not the opposite!!

You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

Missing text markup features in the new discussions platform

Hi guys,
The old discussion platform provided us with ability to use some useful markup for:
rendering a source code (with syntax coloring) - [code] ... [/code]
rendering a text with a fixed pitch font - <tt> ...</tt>
referencing other forum messages - {message:id=1234567}
referencing other forum threads - {thread:id=1234567}
referencing forums - {forum:id=83}, etc.
I cannot find any equivalents in the new discussions platform, which makes composition of messages more difficult. Are there any equivalents?

right now there are no replacements for the old tags. You can use the advanced editor to insert code into posts (which has it's limitations). Please read How to use the forum editor to create professional documents (Tips & Hints) for some more hints.
Links to threads and messages can simply copied into the post and the the editor will convert them to something nice. Or you use the add link button from the toolbar of the editor.
