Please read! I can't stand it anymo

Is there any creative product that doesn't have any problems with screech of death and whatnot?! I've already tried to return a soundblaster 24-bit internel soundcard after having nothing but problems with it and on this forum I see people who use the other products such as the audigy 2 series that have the same problems (screeches with EAX enables in games, etc).
I tried to use other products but they simply don't have the features I need such as soundfonts and the new EAX formats. It's driving me crazy and (sorry if this isn't clean language) it's starting to utterly piss me off to the point where I can't even sleep at night anymore. So before I go completly insane could someone please tell me if there is a Creative product that doesn't have problems? I'm sick and tired of buying and returning sound cards 000 times just to see if they will work or not.
edit: uh.. btw I don't mean the really old sound cards like sb li've! value and such, heh. Has anyone had any luck with the USB products or do those have the SOD as well?Message Edited by machrider on 04-02-2005 07:58 AM

Why don't you use the kx-drivers? I'm sure they solve your problem. And they're much better than the creative drivers anyway.

Recently just bought WRT54GX4. I discovered that this wireless router from linksys did not cover the range that i want. Previously i own WRT54Gv5 which still is better can connect to internet until when i was in my garden. However, this router when i take my notebook just out of my room where the router is installed the wireless is disconnected. Had tried a few time by opening the properties by clicking the icon on the bottom right found out that. The SSID dissapear first then a few second later the connection broke. My position was just out side my room only. For those who have WRT54GX4 please let me know can this problem solved? It was worst than my WRT54G model which is cheaper.

Try setting the Adaptive Channel Expansion to disabled (Unless you happen to be using a WPC54GX4). Also try channel 11 and change the SSID to some other than linksys. Lastly, set the ACK mode to NO ACK and 802.11e/QoS to disabled. These settings are found under "Applications and Gaming" -> "QoS"

But then I got used to it and didn't look for a drive anymore. Then, second problem, the original mighty mouse as well started to fail. I tried to repair it but only tape around the chord could do the trick, but it got more complicated to use, so again I used my notebook to control the MAC PRO; This time, I didn't last long to buy a new mouse and I opted for the new magic mouse. It got here pretty fast, but before it got here, my MAC PRO one morning wouldn't start, or better would give me that white grey screen with the question mark. I know it means something like the system has lost his path and a way to recover is to start the system from the install disk, do a repair and you're good. Right, but you remember I have no drive!! So , I look for a drive on the internet and buy a Samsung (Samsung SH-S222). Two weeks later, here I am with my new drive. Put it on, insert the Install OSX DVD, and then nothing. Not even a question mark. Tries a few times with the C or Option key press. Nothing appears on the screen. Just the fan making a loud noise for a minute or two, the led of the MAC PRO stay still, then the fan stops and the light starts to flicker (?) Actually, the question mark appears when there are no DVD in the drive. Tries this PRAM thing (commandoption+PR) nothing happens. So what is going on? Where does the problem come from? Was really really hard to read one long single paragraph.
When "?" shows all you need(ed) to do was go to Startup Disk control panel and set the default boot drive. If it doesn't boot, and the Option key doesn't work though, then you need another boot drive to find (hard drive).
And you should always always have bootable backups (clones).
A copy of SuperDuper or CCC
And of course Alsoft Disk Warrior
And and "Emergency" boot drive.
I never use or need to rely on the DVD other than to install the OS the first time, or to have a pristine clean new OS for my emergency boot drive, at least for repairs.

ITunes problems (please read as can't fit in title!)

Basically since before xmas it keeps freezing, being very slow and asking me to sign in every time I go onto itunes. I'm already signed in. It also tells me there are problems with my iphone (4s) being connected (even though it is not connected) and this message flashes up around every 10-15mins after that. Also itunes if minimised on the taskbar will not maximise- there's no response at all from it. I've uninstalled, signed out, signed in, everything and it doesn't change anything.
I have windows 7 x64bit if that's relevant.
If I didn't have to have itunes for my phone I honestly wouldn't bother with it right now so help would be appreciated!

The iPhone HAS to be active making calls on the UK carrier network for the carrier to identify as "theirs" and therefore eligible for the Carrier to unlock
The way to achieve this is to use a PAYG sim making and receiving calls to establish a customer relationship with the Carrier and then follow the Carrier's process to unlock
With a PAYG it usually means adding a specified (by the carrier ) amount usually £15 /£20 depending on the carrier

I have installed Adobe packages and cannot find the Acrobat extension folder please advise how can I get these applications to load onto my computer?

I have installed Adobe Creative Cloud for teams CC Packages which says that Acrobat XI Pro is installed. Your support page says it does not install Acrobat and I have to look in the Extensions folder for an MSI file. I have run a number of searches and cannot find the Acrobat extension folder please advise how can I get these applications to load onto my computer?
Also I now administer the teams and have accepted the invitation to I received to be a team member and download the apps. The admin page shows that I have been sent an invitation but does not show my account as "ACtive" unlike my other team members. I tried to use the link in the invite to accept it become active but the link displayed an error saying I had already accepted the invite... why is no account not active?
Finally what other product downloads in Creative Cloud do not actually download as part of the Creative cloud Packager for downloading the apps? e.g. acrobat and what else?

Whenever I select Word Microsoft Setup Assistant appears, asks for feedback, then after selecting okay (both on saying yes or no to feedback) goes on to a registration page. When I click on this it says I've already registered so I just click okay, and then move on to a update page. After this, if I click on Word, the process repeats itself.
As I said, I don't have the disk to reinstall, and can't find the Office Settings to delete as many pages have suggested I should try. Safe Boot restarting also hasn't worked... Really stuck and need Word very soon for work.
If you can help, that would be great, and feel free to ask any questions about the situation as I'm not an expert here.

First, export your contact from iCloud.com and save them on your computer in a safe spot some where (like you desktop). Use this to help you do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606
Next, on both of your devices, go to Settings > iCloud and turn on contacts and select Merge. Then turn off contacts and select 'Delete form my [device]' when prompted.
Now go back to iCloud.com and select a contact (yes they will all be messed up again) and select Command+A on a Mac or Control+A on a PC to select all of the contacts. Tap the delete key on your keyboard (or right click /control click a contact and select delete).
You iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com should not be empty for contacts.
Go back to Settings > iCloud on both devices and turn on contacts again (you should not see merge this time).
Next, go back to iCloud.com and import your contacts (those exported .vcards). You can either drag and drop them into the empty contacts list in your web browser, or you can use the gear icon to import.
You cleaned up contacts should import correctly into iCloud.com and sync to both of your devices.

My iPhone is a 16GB and it says 9.0GB Available and 3.7GB used; I suspect the missing 2.3GB is occupied by the system software.

Then it gives a link and says after you receive your iphone to go to this webpage to make sure employee discount is still on phone.....

1. First I use this keytool for creating my private key and public key

3. I sign the ali_keytool.csr by openssl . I do it like this :

4.Now my I have a signed certificate (ali_keytool.crt) and my CA certificate (myca.crt)
and I import CA certificate to my keystore
keytool -import -alias Openssl_ca -file myca.crt -keystore ali_keytool.jks -storepass ali120
5. I import the signed certificate into my keystore by alias of private key
keytool -import -alias ali_alias -file ali_keytool.crt -keystore ali_keytool.jks -storepass ali120
6. I import the CA certificate again into a new keystore for creating Trust
keytool -import -alias my_ca -file myca.crt -keystore ali_keytool_trust.jks -storepass ali120
All steps done without any errors

When I setup my new MacBook Pro, something slipped by me and my computer was named First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro (using my real first and last name).
I changed the computer name in Preferences/Sharing to a new name and Preferences/Accounts to just be Mike. I can right click on my account name, choose advanced, and see that everything looks right.
However, If I do a scan of my network with my iPhone using the free version of IP Scanner, it lists my computer as First-Lasts-MacBook-Pro! And it lists the user as First-Last.
So even though another Mac just sees my new computer name, and my home folder is Mike, somewhere in the system the original setup with my full name is still stored. And it's available on a network scan. So my full name might show up at a coffee shop.
Can I fully change the name without doing a complete re-install of Lion and all my apps?

One thought... you said the iPhone displayed your computer's old name? I think that you must have used the iPhone with this computer before you changed the name. So no one else's iPhone should display your full name unless that iPhone had previously connected to your Mac. For example, I did this exact same change, and I use the Keynote Remote app to connect with my MacBook Pro. It would no longer link with my MacBook Pro under the old name, and I found that I had to unlink and then create a new link under the new name. So the answer to your question is, there is nothing you need to do on the Mac, but rather the phone, and no other phone will display your full name.
