Just now i installed my sound blaster card and installed the cd that came with it , i dont hear any sound and my mic is not working i have unmuted the mic in sourrend mixer , but still nothing. Also im using a headset (planatronics audio .90's).
i have my connecters like this:

Go to the mixer and make sure "Digital Output Only" is not checked. This will take care of the sound, but I think you'll find that your microphone will still not work. I am in the same situation.
I would really appreciate hearing from someone as to how to get the microphone to work.

Adobe Support: Please Read, New Flash Not Working

Adobe, please read this. My Flash player is not working and I would be happy to help you troubleshoot. I have a completely fresh install of Windows XP on a Dell Laptop and the new Flash Player is not working. I am in the tech field so I will understand most of your requests...Here is my situation.
The problem began just after Christmas when I returned home from holidays and tried to watch videos, which I do all the time for both work and pleasure. Videos would not play in a watchable manner...I could hear audio but video was completely choppy and unwatchable. I researched and researched and implemented many suggestions but to no avail. Thus, I COMPLETELY rebuilt my system from scratch. (I needed to do this anyway since it had been 2 years.)
After the rebuild, on a completely fresh install of XP on a Dell D410 laptop (that was playing all videos just fine a week ago), I installed Firefox, went to youtube which prompted me to install Flash, and then had the exact same problem that I had before the complete reinstall of everything. There are scarecely any variables here other than the Dell Laptop, a standard Windows XP SP2 build, Firefox and Flash.
I think I have narrowed this problem down to two things. One, the new version of Flash.
It's choppy on youtube AND it's choppy on megavideo, the other place where I watch a lot videos.
I then tried on IE, which also prompted for the new version of flash, and also had the same problem. Chrome--same result.
However, this problem cannot be a universal problem with Flash otherwise nobody would be able to watch any videos onlline.
This leads me to the second problem, which a complete hypothesis but it seems to be the only thing left: my Dell laptop.
I have noticed that some of the other folks with reported problems, who mention their system type, are also using Dell laptops. Mine is an older d410, but as I said, it was running every video just fine up until a week or so ago when all of the sites forced me to install the new version of Flash. Most Dell laptops use a common video driver set and this is what is leading me to this conclusion.
So, could this be a problem with the new Flash and Dell laptops (or systems that use a common video driver)? As a reference point, my "display adapter" says "Mobile Intel (R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family".
Viewing videos is part of my job (and entertainment) and I cannot do anything right now.
Someone out there...please hlep. Adobe, where are you? We are here providing you with all of the information that you need....

In summary, I have a fresh build of Windows XP, SP2 on a Dell D410 and the Flash player does not work. This affects at least 50% of the sites I visit. Right now, I simply have the Flash Player uninstalled and can surf the net rapidly. Once I install it, I am back to a crawl and still cannot affectively watch any videos (they all have extreme video choppiness but the audio is fine).
I need your help, Adobe. Everything was working fine until 2 weeks ago. It is unfair of you to distribute a product like this, force everyone to use it, and have it not work for some of us.
So far, this free product has cost me hundreds of dollars as a good part of my job is reviewing videos.
Many have suggested that I buy a new computer to fix the problem.
Is this really necessary?

Hello, I just re-installed windows XP from the scratch, and now my sound card wont work. I've tried to install the correct driver, but Windows won't even recognize that I've plugged in the card. And when I try to automatically find the correct driver, it states that it cant find any. I am sure that the card is working, because it worked perfect before I re-installed windows.

I also checked the HP site (the manufacturer of my motherboard) for a BIOS update, did that too. Also, somewhere else on this site there's a post about IRQ's, and how to fix those errors, and I tried that, but I cant find most of the things, like the 'Assign IRQ to USB', 'USB Legacy Support' and 'USB Keyboard Support'.

I also tried uninstalling the device, and then re-install, but that didnt work either.
In the devices manager, it states, under other devices, that my Multimedia Audio Controller isnt working, as is my PCI Input Device (they have a yellow questionmark next to them). I've tried to install those drivers countless times, but it cant find any of the drivers, and uninstalling doesnt work either.

Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 Digital driver update - wont wo

Hello I've had this problem for as long as I can remember. I have already searched the forum in hope that I would find a solution. I didn't.
Ok, this is how it is. About two years ago I bought computer parts which I assembled together and "Creative SoundBlaster Li've! 5. Digital RETAIL PCI" was one of them.
I have tried every single driver you have under your support page and none of them will work! I always get the message:
"Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system.
Please ensure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program.
Setup will now exit."
Right. All drivers gives me this. I know that you guys will probably ask after the serial number now but I'm too lazy to check at the very moment and I know that the serial check will be a SB Li've! 5. digital card anyway so I don't see how that would solve this issue you are having with your, sorry to say this, outdated installs.
The card is installed correctly in the device manager as "Creative SB Li've! series". And how come I can install it from the CD but not from your internet drivers?
I'm using Windows 2000 Professional with service pack 4 by the way.
Is there a chance these installs wont work with latest service packs, that they were designed for earlier service packs and Microsoft maybe changed the way to detect hardware in later service packs?
I'd appreciate any help I can get because I really need to update my drivers, I got a small sound problem now it seems (soundeffects volume goes down and there is a bit of distortion when it's too many of the same sound playing - or when a soundeffect is to loud).

EDIT2: Ok I got several driver files so I just extracted "Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe" to C:\sb\ and ran the tool as you described. I could launch the install without problems. By the way, Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe is containing the latest drivers as well right? So I dont need to do this with "Li'veDrvPack_Patch.exe" as well?

Creative Soundblaster Live! 24-Bit External card - noise in right chan

I have a Creative Soundblaster Li've! 24-Bit External card installed on a Dell XPS 40 with 2GB RAM and Windows XP to replace integrated sound that came with the system, a sound problem developed recently that I never noticed before, there is a popping sound in the right channel which isnt loud but noticeable when no other audio is playing, the sound is a fast popping sound like a idling engine, Ive tried updating the Nvidia video drivers, uninstalling software that may have caused conflicts, looking in the bios, I also tried uninstalling the Creative drivers and before installing the drivers again when the system booted and detected the new hardware I could hear the popping noise without any drivers loaded yet, nothing has helped this problem, does anyone have any suggestions of what is causing the noise? Yes exactly as you mentioned. I have SoundBlaster Li've! 24-Bit Internal and facing the same problem. All is working very good, but only sound in WOW is terrible: it's muffled, degraded and seems to runs only in 22khz.
It is a big irony because i bought this card only for WoW to replace my onboard card and now the old one sounds much better in WoW as the new SB
Anyone with help?

My analogue 5.1 Sound System doesnt work on Soundblaster live 24-bit soundcard

I have a WavemasterMX-5 5. Surround Sound System with Subwoofer (=http://www.hms-media.de/EN/?Tab=Products&Group=3&Product=7) and it doesnt work on the Soundblaster li've 24 bit.
I have installed all the drivers properly and the card seems to be working ok.... 
But i have a analogue Surround Sound System what must i do to get this working?
Is it possible to add a converter that can transform; digital to analogue signal? Or can i change some settings >?

You'll have to enable surround matrix decoding for stereo material. There are several analog encoding standards (Dolby Surround, Dolby ProLogic, Dolby ProLogic II) but Creative's driver doesn't have an official decoder for any of them Instead, they provide their home-grown decoders and call them CMSS or DTS NEO:6. I can only assume they want to dodge Dolby's license payments by not supporting familiar standards. Anyway, you will find the CMSS modes in the driver or, in case of NEO, in their mediasource player. NEO - because it's in a player and not in the driver - is out of reach for other players such as WinAmp or multimedia and TV software.
If you plan to listen to music only, the Creative CMSS matrix decoders ("upmix") might satisfy you. If you plan to watch movies or watch TV, you will find that, with exception of DTS NEO:6, they are not good at all. A ProLogic II decoder sounds much better. If you are lucky, your player has a software ProLogic decoder. For example, WinDVD has one. Unfortunately, in that case the soundcard's high tech DSP - which you payed $$$ for - will not be used at all.
An alternati've solution for non-gamers (for movies and music) is to install the kx driver from the kx project at http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?language=en
For music, this driver - strangely enough - not only sounds better than Creative's own player, it is also far more configurable. For example, if your center speaker is from a differerent brand than the main speakers, you can put an equalizer before it. Or you can redirect bass from small speakers to larger speakers and not just to the subwoofer, as is the case with Creative's drivers. The options are endless. You can even create totally different configurations for different situations (movie/music/...) and switch on the fly. Other benefits: the driver is very small and very fast, everything happens instantly. However, its user interface is weird and the project lacks documentation. You will need determination on the first day. Afterwards, you will be able to configure your music/movie system to sound far better than with Creative's driver and customize details that simply can not be customized with the official driver. And the best thing: everything will run inside the card's DSP and the computer's CPU is free to do other stuff. Btw, the link above leads you to the last official release. Creative SoundBlaster Live! 24bit Crashes system on Gigabyte's GA-G19

Hi,I have lately purchased the Gigabyte Motherboard Model No. GA-G975X, with the onboard Creative CA006 chip. (Sound Blaster Li've! 24bit)I use an Intel Pentium 4 processor 3.4GHz , 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache.I use .00GB of RAMMy OS is Microsoft Windows Professional Version 2002, Service pack
My Problems are:
The sound of a played media stops abruptly and keeps repeating with a high pitch till it shuts down the player software & the System.</LI>
The OS restarts.</LI>
I have noticed that the problem occurs if I try to use another program or service beside the one using SoundBlaster. (ex. dialup using a phone line.)
I tried the system with all creative drivers uninstalled the problem was gone.
Have you got any clues about the cause and the solution.

Exactly same behaviour with G975x MB !!! The CA006 chipset is not anouncing itself correctly to the APIC HAL Windows XP system (Hardware Abstraction Layer). First, the card was not correctly detected by the system ! I got an audio controller detected in component manager but driver or Creative setup are not able to detect hardware !
After many complaints at Gigabyte or Creative, no answers for this problem or only evasi've answers. Windows registry are detecting these components :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\P CI\VEN_02&DEV_0007&SUBSYS_0602&REV_00\4&bc67b8d&0& 28F0
where VEN_02 is for CREATIVE Labs.
Here are the HardwareIDs detected :

Installed manually, the card is not responding or crash system, and windows startup time is increased by 5mn, at least !
To resume Chipset are not correctly detected or are corrupted, and only thing to do is to RMA the motherboard as I !!!
This problem seams to be a standard behaviour from CREATIVE chipsets product line and many users are experiencing the same problem... Both Creative and Gigabyte are not responsible for that bad use of their product !!! Sure !!! Always bad naughty users are doing bad things with their boards, like playing tennis with, or trying to have a good shower with these scrappy cards !!! Everybody knows that we are all stupid basic lambda users with no idea about what is a mobo used for !!!

Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1 Gamer

$C Hi I recently installed my Soundblaster Li've 5. card and I'm getting static sounds in the backround on Windows 7, It works fine in Windows XP and Windows Vista.. Any idea's what I can do? I've been playing with this for a while now and cant seem to grip and answer. I've tried messing with the sound quality by lowering the HZ in control panel, still no luck.

No FX-Sound by creativ soundblaster Live! series

since two days i?ve got problems with my sound (see above):
if i open my audio HQ and click on "speaker" i get the following message (translation fro german):
Creative sound mixer
there is no mixer in the system, mixer will end.
if i delete the driver, shot down the computer and try again, it works, the menue opens, but if i start any game which needs or uses fx-sounds, there ist no fx-sound. I end the game, wanna click an creative sound mixer and get the same message like before.
How can i fix the prob.

Did you check Speaker Settings application and ensure that the Digital Output Only option has not been enabled.
Also disable any onboard audio from the BIOS if any.

Creative Soundblaster Live 5.1 Pla

Hello,
i am new to this forum so i hope someone could help me with my Problem.
I have the above mentioned soundcard. The following problem i have.
When i want to play a soundfile with any Player (Windows Media Player, Winamp and so on) and put the Sound Volume at the Subwoofer to Maximum...there is a background sound. It sounds like a hisshing or something like that. Its nearly the same sound you hear when you put a shell from a oceansnail to your ear. Its allways the same loud and its only disapear when you put out the sound in the Audio HQ.
Did anyone ever has souch problem an how i could fix it's

Help me with my Creative SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 .

It's quite annoying . . . Everytime I shutdown or restart my PC, the Subwoofer would generate a hum that last through the shutdown and restart process. I have updated the drivers already, gone through the knowledge base section but to no avail.
Another problem is that it often hangs when I am playing Generals, the system will just hang and gives out a continous tones over the speakers.
My PC is powered by Intel Decktop Board D865PERL, Pentium 4 3E Processor, GB Memory. The Sound system is in 5. configurations.
I have also acquired the latest updates from Intel for my BIOS.

Blue screen after installing creative soundblaster live 24-bit exter

hey,have a bit of a prob here...i get random crashes after installing my external soundcard which i've just bought...i'll get the blue screen everytime it happens but unable 2 catch the blue screen msg as it flashes for 2 secs...anywayz i'll explain my com setting...i'm using a acer travelmate 270,about 3 yrs old now...it has 3 usb . ports at the rear n i added 2 usb 2.0 slots via pcmcia card...i connect my external hard disk using the 2 usb ports at the back as port has not enuf power..so that leaves port...n the pcmcia card ports i attach a external cd burner n a usb 2.0 hub....could it be that the error msg im getting is due to the lack of current in my laptop?is there a way 2 check the power capacity on the usb ports?the blue screen has appeared numerous times alredi n is very annoying...but i managed to solve the prob though for now when i go to control panel/sounds and audio devices..then under the volume tab,i goto speaker settings/advanced/performance..in here,i lower the hardware acceleration bar to the 2nd bar n the sample rate conversion quality bar to the st bar ...the crashes haven't happenned so far....but just wanna get anyone's opinion on why the blue screen crashes happen...isit bcoz my laptop is unable 2 supply sufficient power to the external soundcard when functioning at its full capacity?(causing me 2 lower its performance via lowering the bar)any help would be much appreciated...thanx.....
