Just purchased Pages and going through tutorial, but the tutorial has features that I'm apparently missing. What's wrong?

The "Sections" button does not give you a choice of "Documents". It gives you a choice of page formats to add to your Document as a new Section.
That you see "Blank" and "Text" as the only choices suggests that you are using one of the "Blank" templates as the base of your document.
There are (at least) two ways to get more choices from this button:
Use a different Template. Choose one that is appropriate to the Document you intend to produce. As you can see from VikingOX's post above, the Visual Report template offers several different page designs that you can use to add pages formatted for use in a report that will contain several illustrations.
Roll your own. Start with a Blank template and set up a page the way you want it to appear. If you think you will use that style of page again, you can do some revisions that will make it suitable for use as a Template or a page model, the Capture the page. The captured page will be added to the list of these available in the current document. The Document, Saved as a Template, will be added to the My Templates section of the Template Chooser, where you can open it as the starting point of a new document. (NOTE: There are enough complexities to setting up a page to be used as a flexible template to make it a task not to be undertaken in the first few weeks you are learning Pages. Keep it in mind as a future project.)
As Peter has suggested, do some exploring. Start (separate) documents using several of the templates, add several sections and explore the differences and similarities. Explore. When you come across something that surprises (or puzzles) you, check the User Guide to find out what it's for, and how to use it. When you've don exploring that template, just close the document without saving—the only things you need to save are those you intend to have as a finished document.

Is new Numbers missing features as new Pages is?
I was greatly dismayed at the eviscerating update of Pages. Due to the missing features, new Pages is unusable to me. I haven't yet looked at the new version of Numbers. Is it eviscerated as well? Is it also missing features of the software it was meant to improve on?

I was using a report template in the new Pages and I noticed at least 2 missing features that used to make things really easy.
There is no longer a way to select multiple objects:Say you create a diagram with several shapes, arrows & text boxes, if you have to move the diagram or delete it, you have to manually select every object. I looked in the help section for a short cut, but no such short cut is referenced. SOOO annoying and heaven forbid your palm grazes the touch pad!
There is no longer a way to insert pre-designed pages in a template.I created a report using a template, but when I go to insert a new section, I have to re-create (by c&p!) the sections! I used to be able to selct a page style for a new section (insert new head page, text page, photo page...etc.).
My hope is that I'm just missing something, otherwise the new Pages is much less "user-friendly" than it used to be and that doesn't feel like an "improvement".
Any shortcuts that more advanced users might know of?
Thanks!I have the same problem. Unfortunately, I never had Pages 4.3, so I have nothing to revert back to. Pages was my last hope at exporting a doc to a pdf on a mac with working links - and of course, I buy it only to find out it no longer works in Pages 5. #headdesk
Any suggestions? (Google Docs is not an option, they redirect the links in the doc through their own URLs with tracking codes). -
I think there's still a number of features that make Pages for iPad inferior to using a word processor (say, OpenOffice) on a netbook, which is disappointing because I'd really love to get rid of my netbook and just use my iPad and external keyboard.
Key missing features: word count (I know you've heard that before); command-i/u/b for italics, underline, and bold; some way to resize text on the screen without changing the font, ala OpenOffice showing the document at 150% or whatever. (Documents 2 Go does this with pinch-and-zoom and reflow. Pages does not reflow the text to fit the screen when you zoom in, so you can't actually work with it.)
Another important feature I'd like to see, that both Documents 2 Go and QuickOffice have, is integration with document syncing services like DropBox. That's actually a huge thing; on my netbook, dropbox syncs my files every time I save automatically, without me having to think about it, while currently on pages I have to drag the files onto my computer with iTunes, which is night and day in terms of ease-of-use.
Finally, if you could include OpenOffice open document compatibility, that would be amazing.
Right now, Pages still has a superior writing experience to Documents 2 Go and QuickOffice, despite D2G's latest update. If you included the above features you would kill the competition completely and make it so that the iPad could be a real word processing replacement device.

It is sometimes difficult to keep buts and missing features apart; if posting please try to keep to the 'missing features' subject. While I can, I will edit this first post rather than adding extra posts as I add extra comments.
BT Cloud is a new service (or a new interface to an old service) so has many missing features; with luck if we record these the team will try to get them added at some point. I have found them very responsive on the issues with speed (even though they haven't yet managed to resolve them), and I hope they will be equally responsive here.

I can share files but not directories. On the Windows GUI, 'Share' is greyed out when a directory is selected. On the web GUI, you can select 'Share', but all the options are then greyed out except 'Show Sharing History'

No control to prevent BT Cloud starting when computer starts
Also, it starts instances for ALL users ~ in many cases backup will only be required from one 'main' user.
No pause button to pause backup
No exit button to stop backup altogether
Correction: these buttons do exist, but are in a completely non-conventional place,
after clicking left button on the notification icon a secondary (nonstandard) pair of icons comes up,
if you right-click on the left of these you get a useful menu with pause, exit and help.
These should all appear on a right button click of the notification icon,
and help should be available from the main screen as a button or by hitting F1.

You will have to disregard my previous comments. It seems that when I tried to use the BT Cloud app for the first time it had not set up fully. There was no access to the help pages.
A section by section read through the instructions shows that most features in my listing are there. Even a pause feature, and of course, being able to quit the app..
For every day use the app seems to be fully effective.
Other users with more advanced demands may find some problems.
The demands on the Windows 7 operating system are low, using little processing time and only a minor RAM usage. -
Missing features in nokia asha 200

i am from egypt and i don't have FM recording in my asha 200 ??
i suggeste make this feature available in a new software update ..
there is also some specefications ..here on the site about asha 200 that dosen't exist
such as Sequence mode in camera and audio equalizer in the music player ?????

As this is a user to user forum, you may contact Nokia in your country directly by clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page, and assist you with your requirement as they may have got something wrong. You can also use the link to suggest new services of features that you desire.
Please note that if you bought your 200 from another country and it was their country's model, then you may have the FM recording functionality disabled as it is not allowed in their country. -
Removed Missing Dependencies Missing Features, reanalyzed, now 9x more Missing Dependencies....
I'm using the excellent Phil Childs get-scripts Powershell scripts to clear out some Missing Dependencies. There were Missing Feature, MissingSetupFile, and MissingAssembly referencences, all related to the same wsp that is no longer in use and

I removed some Missing Features, reanalyzed, and the 15 item Missing Dependencies list, instead of shrinking, is now at 134 items.
I’m going to try and figure out cause before I start chugging through these. Any recommendations?

Are these new 134 error messages different from orginal 15 error messages?
We need to check each error message description and do as error message content suggests to solve the issue (e.g. may find the webparts referenced this custom feature and remove unwanted web part from the page).

Last row missing for every page in webreport printing
Hi Friends,
We are facing a challenge while printing web report.
Lets say report output contains 500 lines and lines are divided in to 10 pages.
Each page contains 50 rows. When exexute the Printing in webreport we are getting only first 49 rows for each page. Last 50 row is missing for each page.
What could be the problem.
Please help me how to fix this issue. I am not aware of this webreporting Html code.Please frineds help me how to fix this issue.

Where are the many missing features in Numbers found?
The more that I use Numbers the less likely that I will ever go through the motions of trying to get Numbers to do enough of the things that have to be done in order for my income tax program to work. Like in another post I have some of my smaller tax forms to say that they are too big to be imported. There seems to be too many missing features to do a useful job.
This leaves trying to use Numbers to handle new small, small, small spreadsheets. At the present times I have little problem setting up a format for a cell providing the formatting is available. In Excel the easiest way to copy a format to a new cell is to use format painter. Many time copy/paste will work. But copy/paste will move the formula also. I have not been able to find a way to do this with Numbers.
So far the sliders feature is the one feature that interests me enough to try to use Numbers in the real work handling portion of my business. Many things I want to do either I can't find out how to do them or there are too many added keystrokes needed compared to Excel to make me want to do a spreadsheet in Numbers.
Since the majority of my spreadsheets do not use a header row or header column I have to get that turned off. Tax sheets have a lot of blank spaces to start things out & normally will be different than the next sheet.
I used a lot of cell/range names as well as individual cells. I use 450+ cell names in my main Form 1040, A,B,D,NE,IA page. That still leaves me needing to know the row/column designation most of the time. I cannot find where that information is displayed in Numbers.
I keep looking, but generally do not find the needed feature that I need. Many like the cell designation is so basic. Being able to use the arrow keys to move to a cell for inclusion in a formula is another one that I am unable to do. Using the help files do not come close to answering any question that I have with Numbers. Where is the Numbers, "Missing Manual?" I need what I don't have & may not be made at the current time.
Like Pages 1.0, Numbers 1.0 doesn’t seem ready for prime time use. There are too many missing features be a very complete spreadsheet. Some I probably can’t find, some probably are not there.

In the meanwhile, you can continue to use these features by accessing the previous versions of the iWork applications which remain installed on your Mac. The previous versions can be found in Applications > iWork ’09.Reverting documents created in the new iWork for Mac applications to the previous version’s file formatNew or existing documents you open in the new versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote use the new unified file format. These files can’t be opened in the previous versions of the iWork applications. To revert the document file format to the previous version, you can do one of the following:
Documents that you haven't edited can be reverted to the iWork ’09 version by selecting File > Revert To.
If you have edited the document and want to preserve the edits, you can save it as an iWork ’09 document by selecting File > Export To, then choosing Pages ’09, Numbers ’09, or Keynote ’09.

Acrobat X Pro is missing features
After recently re-install my X Pro, it appears to be missing features...
I don't have the option to extract pages,
I can no longer copy and paste comments within a document,
and when I print to pdf the hyperlinks are not active.
Any suggestions to fix would be appreciated.

Thank You for posting on the forums. Here are the answers to your questions.
1) I don't have the option to extract pages > You can find Extract pages under Tools>Pages
2) I can no longer copy and paste comments within a document > You need to select the comment first and when it is highlighted with a blue line> Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V.
3) when I print to pdf the hyperlinks are not active> Printing to PDF would remove the hyperlink, that is a designed behavior, you need to convert the file to pdf using pdf maker or file>create pdf form file.

Missing features on iPhoto for iOS 7
After the announcement of redesigned apple apps, I immediately downloaded the new iPhoto for iOS.
Aesthetically, this new iphoto is more clutter free than the previous version. However, a lot of very important features on the previos version is missing.
1. Creating facebook folder within the app is missing
2. Tagging people within the app and the option to tag them in all photos to be uploaded
3. Creating description within the app
4. Batch uploads are now limited to 10
A lot of users are using iPhoto because of these featured aside from it's editing prowess. So please Apple! Add these missing features again!Hi..

I disabled feature ID's which were showing up(noted earlier ) in error for test site collection first using Disable-SPFeature –Identity ID of feature –url http://sitecollection name –Confirm:$false
later retracted solution .
reanalyzed rule. The errors referring to testsite collection DB are gone.
do i need to verify anything else? or can i go ahead deplou solution back and then run disable-SPFeature on rest of live site collectiosn as well?

Laptop does not recognize IPHONE
My computer does not recognize my IPHONE when I hook them up via usb cable. My laptop makes a weird noise, itunes does not open, and the phone does not charge. Any idea on what I can do to resolve this issue.
