Please reset your password, every few weeks. What's it all about?
I have an EA6500 router and I'm using the issue of Cloud Connect that came with it.
Every once in a while, I'll get a message that says "click on this link and reset your password" or words to that effect, and then I can't get in to my router's settings until I do the password reset.
It's a pain, because I have a series of about 15 numbers and letters at random as my pasword.
Does anyone know why I keep getting this message?
I suppose it's the WIFI version of this.

Hello Mduque45
Try repairing or resetting your Keychain by following the steps in the article below to resolve the issue with the repeated prompts to enter in the password.

New Password every few months? Why?
I know this question has been asked before, but the only place I can find it is in the archives so the topic is locked and there are no answers in it.
I would like to know why SOME users have to reset their password every few months (a big, unnecessary pain in the rear if you ask me) while OTHERS do not.I have to change my other Apple Discussions ID (now inactive) as that account is associated to both iTunes Store and Apple Store online.
This account I only use for AD and so never have to change the password.
I guess where money is involved security needs to be tighter.

Is anyone else experiencing password issues? Every few weeks I have to reset mine and I'm writing them down!
If you are receiving repeated password reset e-mails, there are two possibilities.
One is that they are simply phishing e-mails. Do not click on any links in those e-mails, and do not respond to them in any way.
The other is that someone is trying to hack your Apple ID. You can prevent that by enabling two-factor authentication:
Apple introduces two-factor authentication
This will prevent anyone from even attempting a password reset without entering a special code that only you will have, and should keep in a very safe place. -
Every few weeks my password keeps getting rejected
Hey all,
I have a couple of gmail accounts and when using the Mail app, every few weeks my password comes back as rejected. I can log onto the accounts fine through a web browser so I know the passwords are still good.
Here's the weird thing. After googling, I found some threads on other mac-related boards where people were having similar issues and found a solution: I need to turn off this thing called Captcha (sp?) and then everything works fine again.
Does anybody know what this is and why it would need to be turned off every few weeks? For G-Mail, this is the link I use:

"This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" Every few weeks
I have had an iTunes account for years with no issue. Lately, I have been receiving the dreaded "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" message every few weeks on my iPad 2(currenly, my only iOS device). I go through the process of reauthorizing my password and info and it works again for a while, then happens again some time later. It's getting annoying. I'm not sure what's changed. Only two computers are authorized to use my account and I am the only one who can log into either of them. No one knows my info and I live alone.
The only thing I can think is that it's a bot spamming my e-mail address and passwords in an attempt to hack my account. If that's the case, am I really going to have to go through this every few weeks just to use my iPad? Don't get me started on how stupid it is to have to type in your password to update existing apps. And that's usually when I find out, not when I actually purchase one.
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm wondering if it's more widespread. Some time ago, a chinese app was mysteriously purchased on my account. Apple refunded the purchase and reset my password. That was about the time that all of this started. The reviews on the app left no doubt that it was happening to numerous people and I have no idea how they would have forced a purchase on so many user accounts.Domin Harvey wrote:
PLEEEEEEEASE, please, please fix this!!
Everyone should keep a few things in mind:
This is an occasional problem affecting a vanishingly small percentage of the installed base. Look at the numbers of actual instances in just this thread, look at the gaps in time, etc.
Many many more ... me for example ... have never seen it at all. That doesn't mean it's not an irritation for those afflicted, but it does mean that it's not something likely to be seen as a critical issue affecting the whole base.
You aren't talking to Apple here in these user-to-user forums, at all, for any reason. This sort of communication is handled through their established Feedback links. If you can suggest a better way for them to handle things then make your thoughts and feelings known at —

I've been trying all day to change my email address associated with my Adobe account, using Firefox, my default browser. I am able to access my acct (old e-address), make changes in account, but then the screen displays:
Required Password Reset: To protect the security of your account, you must reset your password. Please check your inbox for an email we just sent you with instructions for how to reset your password and log into your account.
I have checked both email accts throughout the day, including spam folders. Cleared browser history etc. Tried using Internet Explorer. And every other action they recommend.
How can I get through the Password Reset Wall?
Thanks,
SandraThanks, Dave. I think your link helped to solve my problem. Now that I have a new password, I'd like to ask this: Is making changes to your account so difficult for others? I ask because changing my password wasn't even the reason I was accessing my Adobe account.
What I really want to do is to switch primary (1) and alternate (2) email addresses. I have a third (3) email address, which I can use for this process. For example, my idea is to replace (2) with (3), then (1) with (2), then (3) with (1). [I had already tried switching them; a lost cause.]
I replaced (2) with (3). BUT! "An email has been sent to your inbox. Please check your email to complete verification."
But I check all three email addresses and spam folders in each, several (m@any) times in a day, and that email never arrives. Even when I try making a different change.
And all this so that I can prepare to purchase Adobe XI and have all communication between Adobe and me at that (currently) #2 address, which is the one I use for almost everything, and to keep all my receipts, software and hardware correspondence, and oh everything.
Thanks for reading so far; if you (or anyone) have another way to accomplish this, please let me know. -

Hello everyone. My 15" Mid 2012 MacBook Pro has been crashing every few weeks... Initially I thought it was due to Hands Off! (an app i used to limit outgoing/incoming connections) so I uninstalled it. However my macbook still crashes every now and then.
Specs of my MacBook Pro:
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB

Below is the crash report if someone can tell me and explain what the issue is, that would be great!
Thanks

Macs are very selective when it comes to RAM. Install the original RAM and see if there is any change.
Second, look at these items:
One or more of them may be the source of your issues.

"Please Reset Your Computer" Error. Need help!!!!
I have an iMac, G3 400 Megahertz processor. I'm running Tiger, and I downloaded the new update. Three times today I have gotten a "Please reset your computer. Hold in the power button for a few seconds to reset" or something around those lines. I held in the power button on the computer for 5 seconds and released and nothing. I did the same on the keyboard with the same result. This has happened to me three times today, and I don't know if I downloaded a corrupted file or what. I have no idea where to post because I rarely ever come here. If I'm in the wrong spot just move my topic or whatever. Any help would be appriciated!
Also, it just does this randomly. I usually have Safari, AIM, and iTunes open, but it just happened when I just turned Safari and AIM on, so I don't believe it's iTunes. Please help me!Hello,
It seems you are experiencing a Kernel Panic by the description you have given. These can be caused by a number of things. Have a look at the document on the link and see what you can find.

An Outlook rule that triggers a script gets deactivated every few weeks
Hi all,
I wrote a simple set of Outlook rules. One of them triggers a VB script that copies attachments of incoming mails (with a specific title and destination) to a share on a server. I added a certificate so that the user doesnt have to allow the script to run.
Every few weeks, the rule stops being executed. When i check it, the rule is shown in red, and it's marked with the word "error".
However, none of the parameters is shown in red.
I had our IT dept. increase the mail server's storage limit to the max, but that didn't fix it.
My current work-around:
in the Rule Description, i click on the link that specifies which script has to be run if the rule's conditions are met. Next, i pick the same script, and all is fine again.
Sadly, this is not acceptable to my co-workers, and i'm afraid i'll have to find another solution if i don't get this fixed soon-ish...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hi,
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /cleanrules” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Opening Outlook with the /cleanrules switch will get rid of any corrupt rules, after this please recreate the rules and test the result.
Note, you will lose current rules so it might be a good idea to export them first.
(Import or export a set of rules:

Let me know the result.
Regards.

Every few weeks I lose connectivity to my Netgear N router. Its becoming more frequent. All other devices in my home work fine (ipad, PC's, iphone, etc..). In order to work for a few more weeks, I reinstall the Netgear software (using Ethernet cable to router) . This is a hassle. I use WPA-2. Every once in a while I can reconnect without reinstalling the software if I go NEAR the router. But this connection doesn't last too long (a few hours).

Dear Community,
Anyone besides me get an annoying popup that cannot be deleted/closed reading:
FaceTime Password
Please enter your password for "my e-mail account name"
It happened to me today for the first time since upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.3, no "stop lights" in the title bar of the popup, in fact nothing at all.
I've never established a FaceTime account. So I tried to delete FaceTime from the Applications folder on the "system" disk thinking this may eliminate the popup. Mavericks informed me "Cannot delete FaceTime as it is used by the operating system.
Is this a MAC virus? Or is this an example user community alpha/beta testing that Apple just announced?
TIA,
GonzoBernelliThat being the case, why then did the FaceTime popup even appear in the first place?
It's not clear to me what it is. If it occurs again, please take a screenshot of the popup and post it in a reply.
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
The screenshot attachment option for this support site appears only on computers - not on iPads.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
⌘ Shift 3 captures the entire screen.
Drag the screenshot to the Trash after you post your reply. -
Had to repair the HD using Disk Utility every few weeks- Big problem?
Hey guys,
I've used Onyx to verify my HD & it said that I needed to repair it. So I restarted using the Leopard CPU Drop-in DVD & it's been saying "Invalid file count" & "Invalid volume directory count" but it gets fixed. It seems like this happens around every few weeks. Is this a big problem? Anything I can do to prevent it?
Thanks,
DavidHello David
Yes they are replaceable but it's not straightforward. On the newest models it's easier/simpler to get into them but on the older models you needed a palette/putty knife and a good technique simply to get the top housing off. Inside there are a few small/thin/delicate connecting cables you need to be careful of. These two sites should give you more of an idea?

If this seems like too much hard work take it to your nearest Apple Repair Specialist or Genius Bar. They'll be happy to do it for you for a nominal fee. You get the best of both worlds then - peace of mind the job has been done expertly and a replaced hard drive with all your data transferred over.
HTH?
