Please restore Display Performance

I am trying to move up to CS6 from CS4. I'm find that CS6 is slightly laggy in redraw, especially when I zoom in and out, and over time, the lag impeeds my workflow.
I am not sure if this would help, but in CS4 one way to make things redraw faster was to adjust the Display Performance/ Hand tool slider. I have included a screenshot of it from my CS4. Alternatively, if perhaps this is no longer applicable with the 64bit version, then there should be some way to throw more resources at the program, by specifying the RAM usage like in Photoshop.
My system is a Win 7 64 machine, with 12G RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 465 card with 1024Mb onboard RAM. It is handling CS4 fine, and PS CS6 seems to be fine too (a very slight drop when I try to tun Illustrator CS6 at the same time).

I absolutely second this. AI CS6 is really slow with screen redraw for me as well. And it's ... jumpy as in not smooth when I pan the screen. I kinda hate it.
And I'm on a very fast Mac Pro and yet this still happens.
Please bring back the Display performance slider. AI CS6 is too slow without it.

View as Album List was a great feature. Based on comments I have seen on other forums, I am not the only one who thinks so. Please restore this feature. Reasons:1) Images are much easier to see than text. I have reached the age of reading glasses. Before this feature was removed, I could easily find songs / albums in playlists. Now I have to find my glasses beforehand! 2) Images are much more compelling and attractive than text. Although I love Spotify and I firmly believe that subscription is the future of music, I still feel some nostalgia for "possessing" a collection of albums. Displaying album covers reinforces the feeling of having a collection of albums in a playlist. Note that all three arguments apply equally to desktop and iPad versions of Spotify. November 2013: Response to the comments from Spotify...- There is no need for a cmd+G control. Again - We shouldn't have to vote about stuff like this. Of course there should be an album list. And it should also be obvious how to enable it, not just with a keyboard command or obscure menu option. Also - please consider an album view in the mobile apps as well. I have a lot of playlists with just albums, and they are a pain in the ass to use on the Iphone / Ipad.

Please restore OVI contacts lost after synchronisa...

I had a number of contacts on OVI site, while using a previous phone. Now I have synchronized N8, which also used MS Exchange sync engine. And apparently all my contacts are gone, both from the phone and from OVI.
There should be a back-up of OVI - could you please restore my contacts? The faulty synchronization was performed today 13/10 at about 22:50.

Unfortunatelly, I don't have an answer but rather a similar although a bit more serious problem. After firmware uprgrade on my E90 restore goes fine to the point where the phone informs me at the end that it must restart. After doing so I'm on square one, having to enter the region, date and time, finding myself with all restored data lost again. I don't seem to find any answer to this so I'm stuck with a virtually useless phone.
Any ideas anyone? Thx in advance.

Ibooks - Problem with configuration of my iPhone. Please Restore?

I had bought a book on my iPad today .. and I sync'd it with my iPhone so I can read it on my iPhone as well .. but when I open the book it says " There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks."

It sounds like you jailbroke you iPhone. Try restoring it and setting it up as a new device.

Try download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Try this (assuming you're using iPhoto 12): make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the three fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select options #1, #2 and #6.
Fix #3
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:

Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

ITunes 12-Please please restore side bar functions for playlists -and how can i tell when and if it is safe to "eject" devices after synching

ITUNES 12-4points
1) Please restore the easy function whereby the side bar easily accommodates playlists
2) How do i know when devices can be ejected following synch--no visible drop down ?
3) How can i change the fonts and font sizes of the library-over and above the noddy large/small toggle in preferences
4) Look forward to a proper Apple update which includes full functions of iTunes radio. Hurry up with the latter-Spotify is overtaking you guys!

I can only tell you based on what I see w/ my iPhone...
When I plug in my iPhone I get the following icon on the top bar:
If I click on that (that's when it turns blue), I get a sidebar. At the top I see this while it is syncing:
The circle-arrows spin. Once the sync is finished, I see this:
I then know the sync is over and I click on the Eject icon that replaced the circle-arrows.
Are you seeing something different?

I know it's been asked but ive read other posts and none of the solutions there are working. I have a 5g 30gb iPod Video and when I plug it into iTunes I get the message:
"iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes."
When I restore I get the same message over and over again. I've done the 5 R's and I can set the language, but then I go to the main menu for the iPod (Music, Movies, Extras...) and when I try to sync the same message comes up.
This whole problem started right before the time change, one day it worked and then a few days after the change it stopped working. Could this be an issue if my computer times and such wern't updated properly? Thanks so much!

Which computer is your iPod formatted to: the Mac or the PC?
Sometimes if you connect your iPod to the opposite OS to what it is currently formatted to, you can get "please restore", or "corrupt" messages.
In your case, let's try disconnecting the iPod from your computer, and restarting the computer (also, reset the iPod while it is disconnected from your computer).
Then, connect your iPod to your computer (the PC), and restore it in iTunes.
If you keep getting the recovery mode loop, then I would suggest that you try changing your iPod's drive letter to something further along in the alphabet, like "M", or "N", or perhaps "Z".

I just upgraded to Yosemite, had to upgrade my iPhoto so downloaded iPhoto 9.6. My photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this new version of iPhoto but when it started to upgrade, this prompt appeared -Your photo library is damaged or unreadable and cannot be opened. Not saving Display Performance...

Every time I close and then later return to a CS5 document the Display Performance returns to Typical. I have selected High Quality but when I save and close the document this is lost and I am forced into resetting it each time.
This was not the behavior of my foamier InDesign version.
Is there a control/preset I am missing? I looked in Preferences and some other areas but found nothing that seemed to set the Display Performance for the document.

I was restoring my iPhone 4 when it showed to connect to itunes. i did, and got the message,"itunes has detected a device in recovery mode, please restore your device before it can be used with itunes" after i clicked the restore button. the message kept showing up, and i only had the option of updating and restoring. i waited three hours for it to restore, but there was no response with the iphone. HELPHELPHELP!!!!!!!!

Why is 'Bookmarks' control removed? Please restore 'Bookmark This Page' & ability to easily select its file destination.

All of a sudden, I can no longer add a Bookmark by selecting 'Bookmark This Page', then select its destination file. Now it's a lot more work to move the new Bookmark to the file I've chosen for its destination. Was this option eliminated, or is something now missing from my 'Bookmarks' drop down menu?
If this option was removed, would you please restore it as quickly as possible? This is a strong browser changer.

To make a long story short, I recommend using one of these methods for calling up the "old" dialog in Firefox 29 and 30:
* right-click the page > Bookmark This Page ''(avoid right-clicking a link, form field, or image, as those have special menus)
* Ctrl+d
The longer story is: in the new button, the star icon on the left bookmarks the current page. Like the old star icon that used to sit in the address bar, it simply drops the bookmark into the Unsorted Bookmarks folder. To change the folder, either double-click the star initially, or click it again to call up the Edit Bookmark dialog. This is very similar to the "old" dialog but the default location is Unsorted Bookmarks instead of Bookmarks Menu.
There might be an add-on to change how this works, but I haven't seen one yet.

IPod is corrupt please restore.

I set up my 3rd gen iPod originaly on my PC but switched the library over to my Mac several months ago. I have since been syncing it with my Mac with no problems. Last week iTunes 7.0 downloaded an iPOd software update to my iPod during a sync.
Since then my iPod won't connect to anything. Every time I plug it in the computer thinks for a bit and I get a "Your iPod may be corrupt, please restore...". I had to wonder if it tried to install Mac software on an iPod set up for PC? Who knows.
I have gone through the restore process 40 times. Done the 5 Rs. Put it in disk mode. I have plugged it in to two PCs and two Macs. Still get the same error.
The menus work fine. The iPod appears just as if it came right out of the box. However, it is impossible to connect it to any computer I have and get it to sync.
Has anyone heard of a problem like this? Is there anything else I can do to try and make it sync with a computer?
Or has it become a fancy paper weight?

Can you please restore the "would you like to save your tabs" option?

Until today I was using firefox 3.6 because I liked the style and way it operated, but I had to update because most sites I was using wouldn't let me access them anymore.
One of the things that was my favorite was the save tabs option. When I'd open firefox, all my tabs would be there already and I could instantly get to work.

I have also been trying to figure out how to make Firefox on my new computer behave the same way it does on my older computer. This must be the problem, you removed that functionality from the newer version. My feedback is that toggling between opening ALL of the windows and tabs I had open in my last session or NONE of them is really inconvenient. I liked very much the choice of restoring the tabs on the last window that I close. I do NOT like having several windows and tabs open back up with I re-launch Firefox. Please restore this functionality!! What you think was something that would really enhance the functionality has, in fact, severely restricted it.
