I'm new here so I dont know if this has been discussed before.
I always wondered that no matter how fast you are at typing sms's it is always quicker if you could talk to the phone and a speech recognition mechanism would write down the word for you, with the possibility of editing later on.
We have the technology for it so why dont we save some time to the whole world!
This isn't the place for suggestions like that - it's been mentioned several times before on these boards, if it was, I can't imagine anyone would be inspired to provide any sort of helpful response to an attitude like that.

ok, please try below steps,
1. Quit ADE.
2. Choose Start > Run.

This has suddenly started - a black box (some times white )
appears over the top of the image & obscures what Im doing. Its not present when I save the file - only when Im trying to work on it. I cant see what Im doing to the image

JamesLooks like a bug somewhere in PS - would be interesting to find out if it's happening to more than just us.
Actually this looks a lot like a bug with a GPU driver.
Has the issue reoccurred since you turned off GPU usage?
My trouble is I just use PS and expect it to work.
Well, as Adobe did not make your computer, OS, GPU, … you have to do your own trouble-shooting to verify if the issue is actually with an Adobe application or with another component. -
Unable to Erase Authorization- Please Try Again After Some Time

I am using a mac and I have tried to deauthorize adobe with the command shift D key; however, it keeps saying "unable to erase authorization please try after some time"

Can I choose where to save the files every time?
When I get files by email, it's very annoying they all get saved in the same place. I'd like the chance to decide, every time, where I want them to be downloaded to, so that I don't have to be moving them around or reorganizing them later.
Also, is there an option to just open the file instead of downloading it? Some times I just want to see the content of the file, not necessarily save it in my computer.

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

You can inspect and manage the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:
*Click the "[[Site Identity Button|Site Identity Button]]" (globe/padlock) on the location bar
*Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
*Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab
It is also possible that the server uses multiple servers and that Firefox sees this as a new website. -

Do you have the variable "tmpFolder" defined somewhere else? or you're trying to save the EPS in the default temporary folder?.
In Windows 7 the default temp folder is here C:\Users\carlos\AppData\Local\Temp

Automator wants me to save the workflow every time I run it.
I have a simple workflow in automator. It finds all files on the desktop with an extension of .jpg and saves them to a folder. Two steps: "Find Finder Items" and "Move finder items". It works just right, but when I quit Automator after running it, it ALWAYS puts up a dialog box saying "Do you want to save the changes you made in the document “Movefile.workflow”? " I have to click on a box every time. What gives? I'm not changing the workflow at all! How do I get rid of this? it's annoying!
If it wants you to save the workflow as an app, try that and see if it works.

The settings are all correct. New machine. Only has the operating system and Firefox. No conflicting programs. It did 5 then stopped. Nothing has been added or changed since downloading FF.
Same issue here. I am '''NOT '''running in Private Browsing mode.
This may be an issue related to other add-ons, or not. I tried the remember-password bookmarklet with one site and it Worked! But when I looked in the saved passwords, the new userid and password were not there. I waited a few minutes and looked again, and mysteriously, it was there. Perhaps a caching issue. Exceptions box is empty.
I think this in an important issue that must be tracked and not assumed is always an operator-error. -

I have a form that I am sending out and compiling in the response file. These forms I also want to be able to update after receiving them (when I have them in the response file).
But when I do the updates I need to re-save the response file with another name? The strange thing is that sometimes I can just update and save exactly the way I want it. But most of the time I get the message "This file may be read-only, or another user may have it open. Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."
Can someone please help me to figure out how to solve this issue. I know that I am the only one that has the file open. I am encountering the same issue in both Acrobat Pro 9 and Acrobat Pro X. (File was created in Acrobat Pro 9)Good day!
A simple Paste does not work for you?
It should place the clipboard content as a new Layer which you can then move around.
If there is any chance that the elements need to be scaled, rotated etc. I would prefer to place them as Smart Objects (File > Place …) and do the masking that is specific to the images themselves in those.

Fist, I should mention I am not a programmer but am eagerly learning powershell!
I am looking for an automated solution to accomplish what I am currently doing manually. I need a script that would combine the following:
Reach out to a list of websites (probably a loop of some sort since the list will come out of a spreadsheet which could contain 1 or 100 different sites)
Search each page for a specific word or words (not contained in the spreadsheet though that may make it more scalable)
Save the URL of the site(s) that contained the keywords to one text file (versus the multiple .html files I am creating today)
Have the output contain which words it found on which site.
If not overly complicated, I would like to schedule this to recur once a week.
A working script would be ideal, but even the resources that show me how to incorporate each element would suffice.
I have had success pulling down the full content of the listed pages and saving them to a directory, which requires manual intervention.
So far this works, but it's not scalable:

User sees animation.
They click to continue and go to some other page.
You want to know how many times they've done that.

Error -54. Can't save the illustration. (very annoying)
I get the following error multiple times a day:
Can’t save the illustration. The file may be read only, or the file is in use by another application, or you do not have the required permissions. Please save the document with a different name, or in a different folder or directory. -54
Sometimes I will work on a file for an hour before this erorr will randomly show up, but when it does I can no longer save the file unless I Save As or Save As Copy. This is frustrating. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? I have been unable to isolate a single action that might be causing this.
This is completely new for me. I have never ran into this error before. I'm running Windows 7 and saving locally to an internal hard drive with no other users. I am running Illustrator as an "administrator."

Thank you for your reply. I am editing an .AI file and it is not open in any other program. This error is occuring on very file I work with. Sometimes the error will go away within a minute or two, and will allow me to save. Other tims it does not and the only way to save is to mkae a copy.
Thank you for your advice. I did as you suggested and found that "Administrators" was already incldued in that list. When I tried to add Local Administrators, the system did not recognize it and wouldn't allow it.

How to get permission to save the Bevels.ai file
I'm trying to create a 3d pyramid and I was following this link tutorial: Create a Pyramid in Adobe Illustrator CS3 « Layers Magazine. I was able to find the Bevels.ai file and create the 45-degree line symbol. Then I got to the point where I had to save the document. When I did File>Save, the following message came up: Can't save the illustration. The file may be read-only, or the file is in use by another application, or you don't have the required permissions. Please save the document with a different name, or in a different folder, or directory. -54. I checked the file to see if it was a read-only by right-clicking on the file, choosing Properties, General. The read-only part wasn't checked and I know the file wasn't open in another application. The only other option is that I don't have the permission to save the document. Does anyone know how I can get the permission to save the document? Thank you.
Fix your computer's user permissions, check your network connection, turn off virus scanners etc.. This has nothing to do with AI per se, some external process is making AI "lose" the connection to the original file and it gets locked.
