Question

We finally found a way to get our repaired program to run from a transaction - the trick is to delete the old transaction which has a user group/query name in it and create a new parameter transaction with the name of the repaired program as the report name.  The new transaction CANNOT be just a regular report/selection screen program because the repaired program still has the mechanics of the original program that require submission from a START_REPORT.
Of course, we still don't know how to force SQ01/02 to regnerate the code without the hyphens in the field names.  That's why I posted about this whole matter up in the blogspace - hoping some SAP'er or SDN'er will know how to do this.

PS - the last client I was at before this one had enough staff and landscape to test EVERY important program BEFORE even going to ECC5 in actual DEV,
It's not a bad idea if you have the staff because believe it or not, we actually found hyphens in SAP function modules that required OSS notes - so last year, the upgrade was kind of a beta-process if you know what I mean.
