Please see if you can help me with my Disk Error
I have read through a lot of issues on getting the disk error message and I cannot find the solution for me, so I will try posting this...
I have a new IMac 20" Intel 2.0 with 2 GB Ram and 500 GB Hard Drive with OSX 10.5
I printed the instructions for Boot Camp Assistant
I have a brand new copy of Windows XP Professional I opened the package it says it includes SP2
I created the 32 GB partition with Boot Camp Assistant
I have a USB Keyboard and Mouse with the Mouse connected to the Keyboard USB port not the computer as I read to do in one of the forums..
I chose the C: Partition 3 <BOOTCAMP> [FAT32} as indicated on Pg. 11 of the Manual
At that point I go through two progress bars that Windows goes through then, I think, Windows says it's going to reboot:
I get the black screen with white letters
Disk Errorr....
click any screen to try again....
I can click all the keys and nothing happens unless I turn off the computer and then hold down the Options key. I can return the Mac OS but I cannot get Windows to boot.
I never get to the next screen to choose the Format.
I have checked the firmware updates when I try to download them it says I don't need them.
I really do need to still have access to Windows. The whole reason I switched to mac was because I read I could have both. I tried Vista and hated it. I don't want to hate my Mac. I hope someone can help me figure out what to do? I called Applecare, no help!!!!!
I too no longer get to the screen where I get to choose the format for the windows partition. The first time I installed it, I did and chose the WRONG option (leave the current file system intact). I used boot camp to remove the windows partition and started again, but now I get as far as setting up windows and then get a STOP system initialisation failed message. I don't get to choose the partition or the format. I would have thought removing the partition and starting again would have overcome my initial mistake, but apparently not. Unless this is a different error, which is possible, as many others here seem to have the same problem.

Also, I think you might be hard pressed to get some one to teach you Logic for $5 an hour. Not to sound arrogant but for $5 I might answer 1 question for that. Not to say you can't find someone, just remember you get what you pay for.

Column A is the details to be compared. Column B is the details that i will have to use a formula in sap crystal report.

You guys helped me diagnose, now I'm hoping you can help me with the fix!
I found out through the help of this forum that the hard drive in my original G5 iMac had failed. I ordered a new Serial ATA hard drive (Seagate Barracuda) and installed it without incident. The thermal sensor assembly (which I have read is a big issue a lot of times) was not damaged in the process, and the thing all went in and went back together very smoothly. However, when I started the machine up (booting from a FW DVD drive with the original OS install disc that came with the machine) and got to the part in the OSX installation process where it asked for me to select a destination drive for the install, it did not give me any options from which to choose. As in, it seemed not to see that the drive was there.
I called a local friend who is more knowledgeable than I and asked if he had any suggestions, and he suggested that I check the jumpers. After a ridiculous amount of searching, I found that the 4-pin jumper assembly on my new drive seems only to have one purpose, and that is to choose to limit the speed of communication between the drive and the mainboard if necessary. The indicated jumpers were already shunted when I unwrapped the drive, so I pulled the shunt and tried again, with the same result. I'm out of ideas. Any help would be grand.Hi huffdog,
When you go to Disk Utility, with the hard drive highlighted, down the bottom it should tell you what "partition scheme" is in use. "GUID" is for booting Intel Macs, "Apple partition scheme" is for PPC macs, like the iMac G5, Master Boot record is for PC's.
If you have the wrong "partition scheme" showing, then you will need to re-partition and reformat the drive.
To change it you go to the partition tab. Look below the diagram of the partition and you should see an "options" button. If it is greyed out you will need to select a scheme from the drop down menu (just choose "1 partition" again if that is what you wanted). The "options" button should now be available. Click on it and you will be able to select between the three "schemes" I mentioned above. Choose "Apple partition Scheme.
If you have the wrong partition scheme, even if you succeed in installing the OS on the drive, it won't be bootable.

I've checked all the settings on my phone to see if I was able send SMS, everything is fine. I tried turning off my phone for an hour and turning it back on, and if deleting all my inbox messages as well... What else can I do?
I assume you're trying to send your pictures using Messages (as opposed to email).
Check Settings > Messages and make sure "MMS Messaging" is on. SMS is for text messages while MMS is for complicated (picture) messages. -

Try disabling your firewall and antivirus software and see if that helps - if you are trying to update using iTunes on your computer.
