Please some tips for buying online a Memory RAM Stick ????

Hello Fulks, I`m a new beginner in this post discussions....
Could everybody sohw me where show me where to upgrade memory RAM ( Well anyone how reads this post, cause i dont see a lot of people writing anymore in this sections, probably since nobody has powerbook G4 anymore)
We the Titanium G4 fans...where Phased out of favor with the brand new macbooks & macbook Pro....
I want a couple of websites to purchased a memory sticks for my computer online, I want to upgrade from 512 MB to a 1 GB..So all I need is another 512 MB to complete my RAM...By the way my compter carries (PC100 or 133 SDRAM; two SO-DIMM slots, Upper at Bottom.
I appreciated deeply everybody who could help with this question..
Thanks

Hello Eww,
Yeah thats true. When I bought it was the most thing that people starting talking about...it was all over the websites and everything( I paid almost like $3,000.00)...I was Happy with my laptop, But the thing is less than a Yr. I was replace with the same powerbook G4 but with faster processors 550 and 660Mhz, Then 600 & 800Mhz, then the 1 Ghz came( which was the last Tibooks Titanium generation BEFORE ALUMINIUM CAME TO THE MARKET. But what could you do...thats the competitive market, what was good now...few months later they become the thing of the past (which literatelly means trash).
And another thing..I was checking out forums post earlier in this page..and you where explaining about the airport cards...Could you extend far deep( your explanation into the situations with the card) Cause i`m been looking forward of buying one of those..to install it internally in my laptop ...instead of having to punch-in the CardBus slot( to sild the card all the time in the slot).
They are a couple of websites who denounce( or reports) that supposely it goes all the way into 125 Feet but it doesn`t go further than 50 & 60 Feet) Plus if gets expensiver everyday month( or beeter day day) probably cause it really old and it comes pretty hard to come by, these days.
Third Question : Whats the difference between the B"card" & G "card" or N"card" on the wireless.. And Which is the fastest???
Take a look at this website is it expensive the airport card.. http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Airport-Card-Network-adapter/dp/B0009LZJ06/ref=pdbbs_sr9/103-6388104-3782231?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1182193985&sr=8-9
I would I appreciated my friend if you could assit me in solving this problem/Question.
Thanks

  • Some Tips for Cablecard Users with HBO

I have been using a cablecard with my Hauppauge DCR-2650 digital tuner and Windows Media Center on my Windows 7 PC for 3 months with no problems on any of the Prime HD channels. I just subscribed to HBO and was not able to access any of the HBO channels, SD or HD. The message "Subscription Required" would appear after a few seconds, along with a message saying I needed to obtain a subscription to HBO. After Live Chatting to 3 techs over 3 days, I was finally able to access the HBO channels. I'm not sure this solution is permanent, but this is what I did. First I updated the firmware and drivers for my Hauppauge device. Then when I Live Chatted with the technician, he performed a "manual cablecard validation". During this process he asked for my cablecard ID, the Host ID, the Data ID and the activation code. He had me switch channels from an HBO channel to a non-HBO channel, then back again. Voila! It worked. So if my HBO disappears in the future I'll be asking for a tech who knows how to perform a "manual cablecard validation".  Now I had my HBO channels in HD, but the picture was flickering a bit, enough to make it annoying to watch. After Googling "HBO HD flicker" I found that the problem was not with the cablecard or Fios, but with the graphics adapter settings. I have an integrated graphics chip on my PC, an Intel 3000 graphics chip. I opened the graphics properties page and in the "Media" category under "Image Enhancement Option" I turned off the "Adaptive Contrast Enhancement" feature. This fixed the flicker. Hopefully this post will help those few who are using a cablecard with their Home Theater PCs.

  • Tips for buy a Bicycle

The most important part of buying a used bike is getting one that fits you. A bike that's uncomfortable will make cycling a chore. Even if it's a little bit uncomfortable, it'll be a LOT uncomfortable after being on it for half an hour. The most important things are to make sure that the handlebars are higher than the seat so you're not hunched over them, and that there's at least at least a couple of inches between the top tube and your crotch when you're standing on the ground, straddling the bike.
No matter what your experience as a cyclist choosing the right bicycle is a very important task, which many people find difficult. Bicycles are made with different purposes and with a range of different features, with this in mind the task of buying a new cycle can often be daunting.
With a large range of companies out there selling cycles it can be difficult to decide which the best bicycle is for you. However, there are many great value cycles that you can choose from, and the huge selection should make it easier for you to find a bicycle that is just right for you.
Bicycle parts are now high technology and using the best possible materials for the job. Lightness and strength are the most important guiding factors for producing the best quality cycle parts. However all bike parts can work smoother with a bit of adjustment.
    Gears, Chains, Brakes & Wheels
Gears, Chain-sets and wheels were originally first made out of heavy steel. Then gradually, the alloys took over and which are strong and durable enough to be used. As the technologies changed and evolved, so did the materials and equipment.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
    I'm excited for you!!
You don't need to check for burned pixels. Nor run any specific software.
There will be a small white booklet called, "Everything Mac" included in the box. There will be instructions to "calibrate" the battery. It''s very easy.
Just follow the instructions to set it up and you're good to go.
    Enjoy and congrats!
Leave your MacBook on all night once a week so it can run cron tasks. (Maintenance). Much better then using 3rd party software.

  • Need some tips for start up

    Hello everybody,
Very first post here and absolutely a beginner to java.Looking 4 a flying start. This is what i would like to do and if somebody can guide me how i could go step by step would be greatful. Here it goes...........
At first, a program should be written that runs on two PCs, at least one of the PCs having Matlab installed. There should be a stand-alone user interface which is connected to the main program via network sockets, i.e. via the internal loopback interface. The user can select files belonging to a project, specify a string giving the
Matlab command for the desired function and give the names of the variables he wants to get back. Furthermore, IP-address of the desired remote machine, password and so on have to be input.
If all inputs are done and given to the main program, this program connects to the chosen remote entity and sends the files, commands and variables to it.
I would be glad if somebody can gimmi a start up.
    Thanks in advance

first of all try doing what your trying to do in a stand alone enviorment.... it sould not be that complecated....
to execute external commands have a look at Runtime, Process etc
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api/java/lang/Runtime.html
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api/java/lang/Process.html
then create a client server interface, and start by getting the client and server comunicate by simple messaging and then do the other more complecated data exchanges....
to get the comunication part done have a look at ServerSocket, Socket etc.
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api/java/net/ServerSocket.html

  • Please I need some tips of video editing.

Hi! My name is Bruno Rauch, i'm brazilian and I need some tips for video editing..
Here below I'm going to put a link of two videos that I had made days ago...And I'm very grateful if you guys could see and tell me some tips to encrease my video quality.
Bubble Gun Treffen 2014 - Águas de Lindóia - SP - YouTube
Trip to San Pedro of Atacama - YouTube
    Thanks for your help.

What I can suggest is that you look into using image stabilization. I know that the vehicle bounces around, but if you have the front of the car in the shot, or a mountain range in the distance, the software should be able to stabilize your footage some.
Having said that, I should also point out that there are ways to move more smoothly with your camera. There are devices available to steady the camera, called Steadycam. Here is a link.
    B&H Photo Video
If you can't afford a Steadycam, just using a tripod can help. keep it folded up, put the camera on it, pick it up under the head, and it acts as a balancing weight to smooth out the movement.
Using such things will also help you keep the horizon straight (except when the car is turning).
One more thing. Carry a bottle of window cleaner and lots of clean rags.

  • Tips for when your webcam is not detected

EDIT:  If you have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and are experiencing this issue please read this document.
Here are some tips for resolving a webcam not detected problem.  I see this question get asked a lot so here are the steps you should take to resolve the issue.
To begin you should make sure the device is being detected by Windows.  The following instructions are for Windows 7, but should be very similar for Windows Vista and Windows 8.
Option 1: Check Device Manager to make sure it is working properly.
Click your Start button, type “Device Manager,” and press Enter.
Once Device Manager loads click “View” and then “Show Hidden Devices.”
    Locate the “Imaging Devices” section.
Note whether you see the webcam here.
If the webcam is listed, right click it and verify that it is not “Disabled.”
If webcam is listed and not disabled, move onto Option 2.  If the webcam is not listed you will move onto Option 4.
Option 2:   Allow Windows to Re-install the device.
While still in Device Manager right click on your webcam and select “Uninstall”
If prompted select “remove driver and driver package.”
Reboot your notebook and allow Windows to attempt to reinstall the webcam.
If Windows detects the webcam verify the functionality of the webcam.
If Windows does not detect the webcam and install it move onto Option 3.
Option 3:  Manually install the drivers for your webcam.
Use this website to determine your product/model number.
Visit the HP Support Page and use this product number to visit your product’s specific page.
Go to “Drivers and Software” and locate the driver for your webcam.  NOTE: the drivers for the webcam are sometimes bundled with the YouCam software.
    Download and install this driver.
    Reboot the PC.
    Verify functionality.
Option 4:  Manually re-detecting the hardware.
    Disconnect all external devices.
    Shut down the notebook.
Remove the battery and AC power.
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Reinstall the battery and AC power.  Then turn the notebook on.
Once Windows is loaded go back to Device Manager.
Selection “Action” and then “Scan for hardware changes.”
If Device Manager detects the hardware allow it to install.
If Device Manager does not detect the hardware see Option 5.
Option 5: System Restore and System Recovery.
This is outlined very well in this document.  Note that any data that is not backed up prior to a recovery will be lost.
    Options 6: Repair or replacement.
If none of these solutions have worked for you it is likely that you are experiencing a hardware failure.  It is possible to replace the webcam or reseat a loose ribbon cable.  However, this is one of the more difficult repairs on the notebook.  If you would like to attempt this repair you can visit your notebook’s support page and navigate to the “Manuals” section.  There is normally a “Maintenance and Service Guide” for the notebooks, this will cover the disassembly of the notebook.  You can then use HP Parts Surfer to locate the part for your notebook.
If you do not wish to attempt a repair yourself you can inquire with HP about a repair.  For customers in the US/Canada you can call 1-800-474-6836.  If you’re not in this region you’ll need to visit HP’s Support Site to get your area’s contact information.
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

I hope everyone finds this information helpful!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

  • Need suggestions for good online Adobe classes in photoshop, ill. indesign etc.

Hi I am a graphic designer and would like some suggestions for good online Adobe classes ... I found
Adobe Master Series Online Training Library at the Adobe store and was wondering has anyone had good, bad ugly experience with this before I make the purchase. The suite offers training in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, and various Macromedia titles so it covers it all for me in one go.

A less expensive, non-subscription option would be http://www.vtc.com they offer many video cds for applications that have given many I know a leg up on learning an application.

  • Memory ram upgrade

I have a laptop HP pavilion dv5 1017nr with Intel Core 2 Duo processor 2.26ghz 4gb RAM windows vista 64-bit
I trying to upgrade the RAM to 8GB but when I put the memory on ,the computer doesn`t start so I changed one of the 4gb memory RAM for the original 2gb memory RAM and the computer start working again and the system shows 6GB of RAM... the laptop is supposed to be able to upgrade to 8GB of memory........I tried 6 different 4GB sticks with the same result... Any Advice??
    thanks for reading...

Not a computer guru by any means but I just went through this with a 1.67ghz G4 PB 15" with a crashed hard drive. To make your PB as fast as possible you will need to-
    - upgrade your HD, the only large ATA drives currently available, I believe, are from Western Digital, their 320gb drive is available through Amazon for about $90. Other vendors sell the drive as well.
    - install two 1gb modules in the RAM slots, I prefer memory from Crucial but there are other good brands available.
    - go to ifixit.com for excellent instructions on how to do both of these mods. The RAM is easy, the HD is more complicated and you should go through the ifixit instructions to see if you are comfortable tearing into your computer to that degree BEFORE you buy a HD.
I can't say if this is all you can do to speed up your PB or if it would be a better use of your $$ to get a newer computer, like one with an Intel processor, but I believe that these two mods will give you the most speed bang for your buck.
    Good Luck!

  • Wrong Memory RAM?

I Recently bought two sticks of RAM (DDR3 1333 Mhz 8GB AVANT) for My Mac Mini i5! Shortly after that, the Mac SUDDENLY RESTARTS with a Gray SCREEN and a MESSAGE  in MANY LANGUAGES, saying it has to be RESTARTED for an ERROR! then I thought: is posible that RAM is causing the problem? that means that I have to buy an APPLE MEMORY RAM ONLY?

The RAM may well be the cause of the problem, yes. Apple does not make their own RAM, so no, you do not have to buy from Apple, but not all vendors provide high-quality RAM. You may well just have received defective or out-of-specification memory. If the Mac works correctly with the original RAM, get your memory vendor to replace the DIMMs, and in problems persist, return the RAM for a refund any try RAM from another vendor.
    Regards.

  • I want to check all functions of PCI 6534.I have read the user manual..I have some memory related questions. Please help me for that.

I want to check all functions of PCI 6534.I have read the user manual..I have some memory related questions. Please help me for that.
1.)If i am using the continuous output mode.and the size of generated data is less than 32 MB.If i want to preload the memory, what should i do?I want that first of all i load all my data to onboard memory & then i want to make start the transfer between 6534 & peripheral. Is it possible? As per me it should be.Plz tell me how should i do this?I think that in normal procedure the transfer between 6534-peripheral & outputting data from pc buffer to onboard memory works parallely. But i don't want this.Is it poss
    ible?
(2).Similarly in finite input operation(pattern I/O) is it possible to preload the memory and then i read it?Because i think that the PC memory will be loaded automatically when 6534 acquires the data and then when we use DIO read vi the pc buffer data will be transferred to application buffer. If this is true,i do not want this.Is it possible?
    (3) One more question is there if i am using normal operation onboard memory will be used bydefault right? Now if i want to use DMA and if i have data of 512 bytes to acquire. How will it work and how should i do it?Please tell me the sequence of operations. As per my knowledge in normal DMA operation we have 32 Bytes FIFO is there so after acquisition of 32 bytes only i can read it.How it will known to me that 32 bytes acquisition is complete?Next,If i want to acquire each byte separately using DMA interrupts what should i do?Provide me the name of sourse from which i can get details about onboard memory & DMA process of 6534 specifically
(4).In 6534 pattern Input mode,if i want to but only 10 bits of data.and i don't want to waste any data line what should i do?

    Hi Vishal,
I'll try to answer your questions as best I can.
    1) It is definitely possible to preload data to the 32MB memory (per group) and start the acquisition after you have preloaded the memory. There are example programs on ni.com/support under Example Code for pattern generation and the 6534 that demonstrate which functions to use for this. Also, if your PC memory buffer is less than 32MB, it will automatically be loaded to the card. If you are in continuous mode however, you can choose to loop using the on-board memory or you can constantly be reading the PC memory buffer as you update it with your application environment.
    2) Yes, your data will automatically be loaded into the card's onboard memory. It will however be transferred as quickly as possible to the DMA FIFO on the card and then transferred to the PC memory buffer through DMA. It is not going to wait until the whole onboard memory is filled before it transfers. It will transfer throughout the acquisition process.
    3) Vishal, searching the example programs will give you many of the details of programming this type of application. I don't know you application software so I can't give you the exact functions but it is easiest to look at the examples on the net (or the shipping examples with your software). Now if you are acquiring 512 bytes of data, you will start to fill your onboard memory and at the same time, data will be sent to the DMA FIFO. When the FIFO is ready to send data to the PC memory buffer, it will (the exact algorithm is dependent on many things regarding how large the DMA packet is etc.).
    4) If I understand you correctly, you want to know if you waste the other 6 bits if you only need to acquire on 10 lines. The answer to this is Yes. Although you are only acquiring 10 bits, it is acquired as a complete word (16bits) and packed and sent using DMA. You application software (NI-DAQ driver) will filter out the last 6 bits of non-data.
Hope that answers your questions. Once again, the example code on the NI site is a great place to start this type of project. Have a good day.

  • Tips for blue screen (BSOD) errors with Windows Vista and Intel Turbo Memory on X61/X61s

Important note: The symptoms and solutions described below address only a small subset of the possible causes for blue screen errors, aka BSOD.
This information can help address blue screen errors specifically
related to Turbo Memory, but may not solve errors related to other
issues. Please read through the instructions completely, make sure they
apply to your system, and after attempting the solutions please post
back with your feedback for the community.
Some users may experience random blue screen errors with ThinkPad
systems running Windows Vista with Intel Turbo Memory hardware. These
blue screens may occur during normal usage on the system or they may
occur when booting into Windows Vista. Blue screens related to the
Intel Turbo Memory hardware may reference a stop code of 8086 with
    memory address locations of {0, 0, 0, 0}.
There are two main steps that you can take to help resolve blue screen issues related to Intel Turbo Memory.
Step 1: Update Intel Turbo Memory Driver
If the driver version is before version 1.0.1.1004-7.0.3.1001, please
    update to this version.
To determine what version of the Intel Turbo Memory driver is installed:
    1.    Click Start, then click Control Panel.
    2.    Click System and Maintenance.
    3.    Click System.
    4.    Click Device Manager.
    5.    Expand the Storage controllers category.
    6.    Double-click Intel Flash Cache Logic Chip.
    7.    Click the Driver tab. Then you will see the driver version (for example, 1.0.1.1004).
The new driver and installation instructions can be found here.
Note: The Intel Matrix Storage Driver is updated with this package.
    Step 2: BIOS version
If your BIOS version is older than those listed below, please update to the version listed.
How to check your BIOS version:
    Turn off the system.
    Turn on the system.
While the To interrupt normal startup, press the blue ThinkVantage button message is displayed at the lower-left area of the screen, press the F1 key.
    The
BIOS Setup Utility menu will be displayed. If you have set a supervisor
password, the BIOS Setup Utility menu appears after you enter the
    password.
Check BIOS Version and Embedded Controller Version.
    Turn off the system.
    System BIOS versions:
    ThinkPad X61 or X61s - BIOS version 1.06 (7NET25WW)
    Please
remember that these updates do not solve every possible system blue
screen, but they do resolve several problems related to the Intel Turbo
    Memory driver.

    Dear Tim,
First off, many thanks for the tips for resolving BSOD with Vista + Turbo Memory on X61.  I've been suffering from this BSOD for countless times since I bought in my X61 7673-CW9 in April 2008.
Even prior to having the pleasure to visit this wonderful forum, I followed both steps as indicated, and updated my Intel Turbo Memory driver to 1.5.0.1013 and my BIOS to 7NETB4WW (2.14).  However, the BSOD recurrs.
For the past two months, I've recovered my system to factory default settings using Rescue and Recovery for over twenty times, each time with the latest Intel Turbo Memory driver and BIOS.  Notwithstanding that, BSOD recurrs.
During these painful experiences, I tried two options: 1) making my X61 up-to-date by using System Update and Windows Update (including Vista SP1 or excluding Vista SP1); 2) keeping my X61 the status as factory default (i.e. without updating through either System Update or Windows Update (the automatic/scheduled update function of both is turned off)).  In either case, BSOD recurrs.
I'm 100% positive that the BSOD does not arise from any hardware or software/firmware I install.  I never install any hardware (e.g. RAM).  And, it is not caused by any software/firmware I install: the clear and unequivocal evidence is that at one time,I encountered BSOD while having restored back to factory setting and booting for the first time.
I live in Taiwan, and I seldom heard this BSOD here.  All of my friends (as most of Taiwan residents) using X61 operate in Traditional Chinese environment, whereas I operate in English environment.  In Taiwan, when booting for the first time after purchase/recovery, the Windows Vista Business system provides for lanuage choice (Traditional Chinese or English), and, once chosen, the language cannot be altered later on (unless, of course, the system is restored back to factory default settings).
My system specs are the same as the day I purchased it and are listed below (as I'm not sure if my machine type X61 7673-CW9 is applicable outside Taiwan):
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.4GHz
    Memory: 1.00 G.B.
    System: Windows Vista Business (32-bit)
    Hard Drive: 160 G.B. @ 7,200 r.p.m.
And, of course, with Intel Turbo Memory 1 G.B.
I contacted the Lenovo support staff here in Taiwan for countless times, but they seem to be clueless.  I learned that some friends at this forum downgraded their OS back to Windows XP, but I chose not to.  The reason is simple: my purchase price for X61 7673-CW9 includes the Intel Turbo Memory, which cannot function under Windows XP (at least so far).
Therefore, I just wish to share my experience here and perhaps I can get some advice from you and other friends here.  Any advice will be tremendously and enormously appreciated.

  • BEST BUY ONLINE NEEDS SOME HELP AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NEEDS TO BE HELPFUL

After having just spent an hour trying to order something that the website says was in stock, and then finding it really wasn't available, it became obvious to me that Best Buy online leaves something to be desired.  It seems like a classic bait and switch.  Get people to the website with a low priced "deal", only to find it isn't available, however a more expensive version is available.
So, I call customer service.  I get someone who assures me the order will go through, provide my credit card, redeem my points, and only to find it would not work after all, as it didn't for me.  So I ask for a supervisor.   And I get someone who says "I don't know" and has no answers except that this is the way it is.  To add salt to the wound, he announces that unlocked phones cannot be ordered via telephone.  When asked why the rep didn't know that, yes, another "I don't know".
As a Best Buy customer who spends way too much money at Best Buy, I find this entire situation unacceptable.  As they say, vote with your feet, I will be exploring other stores to spend my money at.  A website that says something is available, and then isn't, simply is bad business.  And customer service who can only say "I don't know" isn't really customer service at all.
A "out of the box" idea would be to listen to what I'm saying, and fix it; this isn't the first time this has happened.  Simply saying "I don't know" is only irritating customers who are trying to buy things from Best Buy.  I am so frustrated with the situation and I assure you I will look elsewhere for future needs/wants.
