Hi Dave,
you seem to be the only one who tries to communicate with us which is great:-). I think it doesnt make much sense to ask if we develop any new apps in Lightswitch. You should probaby ask something like "would LS be a tool of your choice for a new project
if LS and mainly SL was actively developed and supported?". And my answer would be YES, YES, YES, definitely YES, because LightSwitch (I mean it's SL client) is by far the most productive tool I've ever used. For HTML development there are other tools
and frameworks, more mature and more flexible and most of them are for free. To be honest, LS HTML client is (compared to the SL one) just a bad joke - doesn't expose computed properties, default values, localization is poor...(just few main reasons) but the
main reason why I actually bought LS was that I wanted to get out of that HTML+JS+CSS+bunchofothertechnologies messy hell. Instead of it LS offered a consistent environment with ONE language of my choice (no matter if VB or C# - both are great
anyway). So I didnt hesitate and put my money and effort into it.
Well, from the current point of view it was the worst decision I've ever made in my professional life.
Best regards
Pavel

  • (Video) LightSwitch Cloud Business Apps and SharePoint Workflows

You can create advanced enterprise applications when you incorporate Visual Studio LightSwitch Cloud Business Apps and SharePoint Workflows into your solutions. Microsoft SharePoint workflows are powerful, but the non-code version created with the SharePoint
Designer do not allow you to implement complex data bound business rules without making web service HTTP calls. You can make these calls to Visual Studio LightSwitch Cloud Business Apps.

  • Must i uninstall premier pro trial version before i can use the premiere pro ii just bought under the creative cloud business package?

I had the trial for premier pro. It expired and yesterday I bought the creative cloud business package.
In the creative cloud desktop app, under premier pro, it says trial expired, and the only option across from it, is to buy. But I already bought the package yesterday, why doesn't it say download or install?
If I click premier pro it takes me to a box looking for a redemption code? Do I need a redemption code,, if so how to I get one, was it emailed to me?
Should I uninstall the premier pro I have on the computer at the moment, before I can download the one I just bought? As next to premier pro in manage application it gives an option to uninstall.. I thought it could just unlock the version I have rather then needing to uninstall it and download it again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, please
    thank you
    derek

    Hi Derek,
I can see that you have purchased Creative Cloud for Teams subscription. You will need to invite and accept the invite before you can carry on using the product as a ful version. I can also see that you have sent the invitation to an email address but that invitation has not yet been accepted . If thats the same email address you wish to use , kindly accept the invitation and use the same email address to login to your Creative Cloud Desktop application.
    Cheers,

  • The Creative Cloud Desktop App won't download

I have the Adobe Application Manager which is where I 'installed' my programs (only Illustrator and Photoshop) at this stage. I want the 'creative cloud desktop app' as I need to access fonts to use in Illustrator. When I click on the link where I download it, it just takes me to the Application Manager again. Is creative cloud meant to be one of the apps in the application manager? Have tried to troubleshoot but cannot figure it out

Donnacally123 for information on how to open Illustrator CC after it is installed please see Launch CC apps after install - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/launch-creative-cloud-apps.html.

  • Cloud business app and document sets

we have a cloud business app connected to our office 365 tenant
when we create an entity we would like to create a document set in a specific document library, is this possible for the created event on the entity or do we need to run a server side action ?
how would we go about this?
    mrP

I would use the server-side _Inserting event. See:

  • Documents and Cloud Business App

    based on this
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/officeapps/archive/2014/03/18/integrating-documents-into-cloud-business-apps.aspx
Are you limited to files less than 1.5MB ?
is there a way to get this working using REST so we can upload bigger files?
    thanks
    MrP

    HI MrP,
For Cloud Business App, we can use the new
document library integration support in the March 2014 Update.
For HTML application, we can integrate document libraries into your application like
    this.
But I didn't find that there is a limitation to file size for this.
Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help.
    Best regards,

  • Cloud business app - using sharepoint persons

    hi,
we have a cloud business app using a sharepoint list as a data source, the list has a sharepoint person or group type column,
when you bring that list into LS app, it brings in the UserInformation list as well.
if you build screens for browsing the entity, you can surface the person.name property, by creating a computed field - however you cannot search for the person by name, a computed field does not appear to have the IsSearchable property.
is there anyway to include the related data in the search ?
    MrP

I haven't encountered this situation (yet) so if the obvious things don't work I would make a
WCF RIA Service that would hydrate the name of the person in the person object and return that name as a simple string in a field in the entity.
I could then put that collection on a Browse screen and the end-user could search for the person by name.
Again, I would only do this after exhausting all other alternatives because I imagine there would be a performance hit to call into SharePoint to get the name on each row (which may be why LightSwitch doesn't do it)

  • Why is it so hard to find the download link for the Creative Cloud desktop app?

So - I have a subscription and I needed to move the location where the files were on my computer. The easiest path is to uninstall and reinstall. So I used the Adobe uninstaller tool (which, even though I told it to uninstall everything, does not uninstall everything). Then I rebooted. All Adobe CS creative cloud desktop apps are gone. I log into my Adobe account online, and the only thing I can find are downloads for downloading "trials" of the adobe apps - this is whilst being logged in. And to download the trial it starts to ask me questions about how I will use it etc. so I didn't bother.
When I go to the page that has what ostensibly looks like it will lead to the Adobe creative suite downloader/desktop tool, it takes me to the list of ALL adobe desktop app "trials".
I finally found it by hunting around in the help screens and Google for five minutes, but it's still obnoxious that there is no link to directly download the Creative Cloud desktop app here, which is where it sends you:
    http://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html
Instead all you see are a bunch of "Trial versions", even though these are included with the adobe creative cloud subscription.
So I don't really have a question, more of a rant at the stupidity of the way this is set up. When I'm logged in, I should be able to access the downloads, or at least the tool that lets me download the downloads, without spending time hunting around for it. It's ridiculous that it's not set up that way currently.

Same with me here is the link I found and used

  • How can I get the Creative Cloud Desktop app To work on Windows Vista?

Currently My CC Desktop app is a greyed out icon.
It has been on and off for months now.
I have called technical support several times and been directed to
    1) Uninstall it
    2) Run the cleaner
    3) Turn AV Software off
    4) Delet my prefrences
    5) Delet Hosts file in Windows 32 folder
    6) Restart, Restart,
    7) Use a diffent User account. etc.
The apps work= PS, INDD, AE, PROJ, AI, DW, Fla, etc.
But the Creative Cloud Destop app does not. I have to use the web browser to upload or sync any files.
Anyone have any other ideas I welcome them.

Ususally Adobe is one of the best companies to deal? Please stop farming your support calls to other countries, The connections are poor, and the support is terrible and it is damaging your reputation.

    Hi D2xS-Shooter,
I am afraid Creative Cloud desktop app is not compatible with Windows Vista. If you run into problems there are very limited resources from Adobe to assist.

  • Can the Creative Cloud Mac app stop requiring dedicated graphics?

I use Creative Cloud on my MacBookPro6,2, which has the ability to switch between dedicated (GeForce GT 330M) and integrated graphics as needed. Using the gfxCardStatus app, I can see whether the dedicated card is in use, and by which apps/processes. This is very useful when operating away from AC power, because I can see "Transmit is triggering the dedicated graphics card even though I'm not doing anything on FTP right now; I'll quit Transmit". I'm also running OS X 10.9 Mavericks, which gives me the "Apps Using Significant Energy" list in my battery menu.
I've noticed that the Creative Cloud menubar app – as in the app that puts an icon in my menubar and lets me see my installed apps, install new ones, see available CC fonts, etc. – always requires the dedicated graphics card, even when only the icon is visible (aka I haven't actually clicked the icon to reveal the popup app yet). For probably this very reason (triggering the dedicated card), CC is nearly constantly in my Apps Using Significant Energy list.
Again, I'm referring to the CC menubar/management app, not an actual CC app like Photoshop or Illustrator.
Ideally the CC app wouldn't use anything that triggered the dedicated graphics, since it's just a management app/utility. But if people wants their eye candy, and that eye candy triggers the dedicated card, so be it. But at least it should notify the OS when the app is not visible, because just an icon in the menubar shouldn't require the dedicated card to be active.
Please consider the impact that an always-on app like the CC menubar app has on our still-limited laptop resources!
    Cheers.

Same problem here, and it makes me HATE Creative Cloud sometimes. Battery drains more than twice as fast, and often I don't notice it until I see the battery icon turn red. Please Adobe, FIX THIS! It's completely stupid for this minimal app to trigger the dedicated graphics card.

  • What is the CIS number for app development?

What is the CIS number for app development?

In order to get your App on the App Store you need a DUNS #.  In order to get a DUNS # you need to register and they ask for the CIS, which is a number that classifies your business.

  • Is there any way the Creative Cloud desktop app can indicate which Market items have already been downloaded?

Hi, I'm not sure whether this is a general issue with the Creative Cloud desktop app, or something is going wrong with my installation, but I receive seem to receive no indication that I have already downloaded an item when I open CC --> Assets --> Market. Looking in my Libraries, I now find some items I've downloaded up to 4 times. Is there some indication I am missing? Is my installation of CC desktop messed up? Or should I suggest that there should be some indication of whether an item has been downloaded or not on that Market page in the app? Even when I go specifically to downloaded items, none of those items has the cloud with the arrow icon grayed out. The only time that icon grays out is when I download the item and keep that page/window open to download other items. As soon as that page/window is closed, the next time I open it, all icons are no longer grayed out, so I no longer have a clue as to what I downloaded unless I open my libraries in my browser. Seems a bit primitive.

Hi Elba, Thank you for your time and effort in researching this. Unfortunately, the above method you describe is more than a little awkward. When one shows the Downloaded window, as you illustrate, that greys out all the individual categories. So, if I were looking for brushes, I'd have to check if I already had it by going to the downloaded window, then navigate back to brushes by first going to Featured or Recent, and then to Brushes, (even All Categories is not clickable, though it looks active). I'd also need to have a very, very good memory, or be going back and forth very often, with how close some brushes appear, and how similar their names are.
Instead, in a browser window, I go to my library from my adobe.com page, so I can see what brushes I have while the window where I can download brushes is open:
However, this still seems awkward to me. Adobe could grey out the icons to indicate they had already been downloaded, while still allowing them to be clickable and downloadable. I guess more code would be needed. I see examples of this every day in both Apple's app store, and Google's play store. For that matter, even the Adobe CC desktop app itself informs me of what Desktop Apps I have installed on each computer, and even whether they need to be updated. I guess, though, the situation for all of those is a bit different, not being quite so cloud-based.
