Please take this very short Audition survey

Hi folks,
As we work on the next version of Audition, we'd love to get feedback on what you want from the application.  I hope we can count on you to take part in several short, focused surveys in the coming months.
Right now, we'd like to find out which audio effects in Audition are the most popular.  This includes both the built-in effects as well as 3rd-party VST effects you may be using.  Please take a moment to fill out this short (2 questions) survey:
http://bit.ly/TqCui
For 3rd-party effects, please be sure to include the name of the plug-in along with the company that created it.
Also, if there are effects that you would like to see added to the next version of Audition, please post a reply here and include some details about it.  (e.g. type of effect, where you would use it, etc..)
Thanks for your help!
Durin
PS - This survey data will be used for internal product planning purposes only and will not be shared publicly.

I used Audition 2.0 a lot when it came with CS3. Now we have CS4 and I miss Audition.
I struggled with the multi-track engine a lot. If I had to do some crossfading, it allmost never sounded right, so I use premiere to do that. Much faster in my case. I couldn't understand the engine without reading the book and in real life I have no time to read manuals, sorry. (Adobe books are bad anyway, there is no explanation where you can find certain settings, only that you have to use them. And they don't show you in a logical way how to do things.)
I also hate the Audition / Soundbooth way of navigating over a sample. Far too fiddly, I always lose track of the spot I am focussing at. Please learn from Soundforge, the have a perfect way of navigating through a sample window.
So, how can I miss Audition then? The Izotope multiband compressor. I really need that. Never heard anything better. And the hard limiting as shown in the tutorial by Total training is very good. It is strange and fiddly that you have to try it several times, to find out if you don't go over a certain percentage. However weird that you can not just type in how much percentage you want, the end result is very good. The pitch shifter and retimer is also something I need but Soundbooth has an easier one and does sometimes sounds better.
Soundbooth has the handy clip tool for removing the end and the beginning of a sample. That sould become standard, like the drag fading tool which is also handy.
The timestrechting/pitch shifting in soundbooth is easier than in Audition and sometimes it is better sounding. Only one thing is very annoying. You can not see the time in videoframes but only in audio notation (milliseconds or whatever). So the time I type in, never corresponds to the premiere track. I have to try several times by trial and error. I just create a fake track with the new length in premiere. Export that into Soundbooth. Measure that time. Fill in that time in the sample that needs to be stretched in Soundbooth.
Soundbooth fails in its multiband compressor. It's useless for it sounds horrible. Also the maximizing and the hard limiting fails in many ways. I never use it because it enhances cuts and partial level adjustments in terrible ways. It also seems to distort with these tools very fast in weird ways. It's also not nice, having an auto hard limit when you keep maximizing. If you forget you maximized, you end up with junk.
All seperate premiere tracks should be able to fly over to Audition, in the same multitrack representation and then you should be able to edit them and put automatic copies back into premiere with one click. Then you would be doing something good for the world.

    Inputs in View Designer :-
    Hello Webdynpro developers,
We would really like to get some input from you, please take a short minute and answer just a couple of questions in our little <a href="http://feedback.sap.com/efs/vote?campaign=c14e041f65f804c900f008f7734bd1c5&org=997">survey</a>
    Your inputs are highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Raghuvira

    Hi Raghuvira,
Its really good to start this thread, so that we could specify the possible enhancements and improvements on View Designer from Design time perspective .
I personally believe replying to the post is more easire than taking the survey so instead of survey here is my reply ,
    1. I many a time faced a problem of getting an exception of Object not found while working in developer studio on View Designer
    2. If we get a design time preview it would be even helpful as even changing a small text requires deployment
    3. All the actions on the UI elements has to be triggered from outline and could not be done from the main View designer
    4. Shifting a UI element to adjust its position is very painful ( up/down)
Currently i have these in my mind , will let you know if i get some more
    Thanks

  • Please sorry this very newbie question.

    Hello people
Again, please sorry this question I'm very new in this Emerging Technologie.
I Wish to know the difference between Fiber Channel and Fiber.
I assume please do not laught, That a Bundle of Fiber ports conform a Fiber Channel am I Right ?
Can anyone point me a good web site where I can find this difference
    Thanks for you Help
    Victor.

Fibre Channel is a technology/protocol for networking Storage. See http://www.t11.org/index.html for all the standards. Fibre is either Multi Mode(orange) Or Single(yellow) and is the actual fiber Optic cable used in Storage area Networks to connect switches, storage and Host systems together.

  • Can you create the Title effect in Daybreakers, adobe after effects cs4,,please take this one as cha

im currently studying Adobe After Effects CS4, and i found the title of DAYBREAKER(2009)movie a very interesting effect to create, i hope you can give me tutorials on how to do that..please! more power, NOTE: im using adobe after effects cs4

From what I saw on the trailer for this film the titles are a modified version of George Peolvoy's Flowing Title tutorial posted on Creative Cow about 10 years ago. You'll find the tutorial here.
The glass effect on the type can be duplicated using layer effects in Photoshop and / or then applying those layer effects to your type layer directly in AE. You'll find a bunch of those tutorials by doing a simple Google search for Glass Text Photoshop.
There is no one click, one plug-in solution, but if you integrate the layer effects, a displacement map, some compound blur, and a little position keyframing + motion blur you should be able to duplicate the effect exactly. George's tutorial should get you started. If I remember right the project files were for AE 4.1 so they probably won't open in CS4.
    Good luck

  • THE FONTS IN FIREFOX 4 ARE DISGUSTING. PLEASE MODIFY THIS VERY SOON.

Checking my mail, or news on a reader...
The fonts are blurry and with different sizes...
    It's disgusting.
Please KEEP THE FONTS as was before in FIREFOX 3.
    IT'S DISGUSTING like NOW.
Also... The TABS, THE COLORS, the button for RSS... HORRIBLE.
    NOT TO MENTION:
    1. I can't see the progress of my downloads coz the STATUS BAR is no more...
    2. The idea to see the origin of a link in the exterior of the STATUS BAR (that now is no more)... It's simply uncomforable....
Lots of simple aspects... That makes FIREFOX 4 the worst change ever in history of Mozilla.
Please keep the sweet parts of Firefox 3 and only make it function faster.
STOP CHANGING THE WAY THE FONTS LOOKS WHILE EXPLORING.
STOP DELETING THE STATUS BAR... I NEED IT.
I WON'T INSTALL AGAIN THIS MESS TIL YOU DONT MAKE IT GOOD.

You can download 3.6.16 from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html, directly install it with no need to uninstall version 4. I have the same problem as you, I've gone back to using 3.6.16 because I'd like to keep my eyesight and avoid migraines.

  • HT5858 IT WOULD BE REALLY HELPFULL IF CONTROL CENTER HAD A BUTTON TO TURN ON CELLULAR DATA. Could you(APPLE) please take this in consideration for the next update?

    What do you guys think?

Logically, because unlike you I do not keep my cellular data on at all times as I do not have an unlimited data plan. I only turn on cellular data when I am on the go and I do not have access to a wifi network. Therefore my need for a button in control center that turns on cellular data. And this would be very usefull to other iPhone users outside the US and Canada, where unlimited cellular data plans are not so affordable.

  • Please help, this is short.

My java profesor at college told me that with just a few lines of code I could turn a Java application into an applet. Since we are not dealing with applets right now he didn't want to tell me, but I wanna be ahead of the class. I know how to make applets already but i don't wanna rewrite the whole application to make it an applet. Does anyone here know what those "few lines of code" are? Any help would be appreciated.

Just be carefull... the applet life cycle methods are your friends too.
    ie.
    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspinit()
    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspstart()
    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspstop()
    &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspdestroy()
You should override stop() so your applet pauses processing politely when the users browser loses focus. Overriding start() will resume applet processing when the browser regains focus, and also the first time the applet becomes visible on the page after init(). These methods are even called by the browser when the applet is scrolled on and off the screen inside the browser window.
Overriding init() lets you hook into the code when the applet is first loaded into the browser, and before the start() method is called. In some circumstances, if you don't preload a resource using code in the init() method, it won't be there when the applet tries to use it (keeerash).
Most important of all is destroy(). Use this to free resources when the applet is unloaded from the browser (the user closes the browser or directs to another page). Not closing a database connection or leaving an animation thread running could make the experience really annoying for your visitors.
Finally, notice that the example above uses the no argument JApplet constructor... public FractalApplet(). The browser only understands a no arg constructor. Thats why you often won't see the constructor explicitly declared, choosing instead to let the compiler insert a default no arg constructor. Then its almost like init() is used conceptually as a psuedo constructor of sorts.
You could still hook into your app from these methods by instantiating the app class using a class variable. You would provide methods in your app that your applet will call from within the various overriden life cycle methods.
I hope this adds some insight, good luck impressing your college profesor.

Google videos are your friend.  Google Videos is/are better than youtube because they include all of youtube plus everything else.
You would be amazed how many user-created demos/tutorials/tips videos are out there.  Even more amazing is how specific these videos are.  Specific to your model number of camera, of flash, of lens.  Specific to your particular tiny issue about Lightroom or Photoshop or whatever.
As for good learning/informational DSLR websites, here is a list of my personal favorites:

    http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/canon/lenses/telephoto/sigma-50-500mm-f4.5-6.3-hsm-os-for-canon
The Digital Picture has great reviews, plus a unique lens comparison tool (ACTUAL IMAGES!) in their "TOOLS" tab.
Lens Rentals contains Roger C's very well-informed, well-respected, and VERY witty commentary on lenses.
Cambrige in Colour gives a nice, refreshing and very civilized British sensibility to things, and is welcoming to beginners, and has good short writings on basic digital photography concepts.
Canon Rumors tells you (sometimes) when new equipment is coming out, and has a lively forum that is less flame-y than Nikon Rumors.

    Tanks,
    Very helpful example.
    However...
When I started to build my program I used the "multiple channels" DAQmx read block, And configured a voltage task that I used for all my sensors. To scale the measured signal into correct value (in for example Newton to show on the screen) a number of calculations were applied, depending on selected sensor.
This means that I have to do the calibration of the sensors outside of Labview. Until I found the possibility to calibrate each task (individually) in MAX... This is much easier because I don't have to bother about all the calibration values and compensations that I used before. This is the reason why I want to give each sensor its own task. And when each sensor is given its own task, and I always need to measure two sensors (two channels), this problem arise.
I can se 2 possible solutions... maybe.
    1. Create a scale in MAX for each sensor instead, then I should be able to use the example in the link above  --  think this would work, but I need to find the slope and offset value on my own as before.
    2. If there is a way to read from global viritual channels instead of tasks, and if it is possible to connect 2 viritual channels independent  to he task during operation  --  Probably not.
    Maybe a little confuising explanation...

  • My brand-new iPod touch (5th Gen) battery takes a very long time to fully charge, even while not in use. Why is this and what should I do?

Just recently bought a brand-new iPod touch, 5th generation. To be exact, got it two days ago, this past Saturday, on 12/13/2014. Initially, when I first turned it on, it had a fully charge and I didn't need to charge it. I also didn't see anything in the very small and limited start-up guide you receive with it to charge it for a certain amount of time before use, or to use it until the battery dies, then charge all the way, like a lot of electronic devices have you do when you first purchase them.
So I was assuming I didn't need to do anything like that. First question, should I have charged it for a period of time before use? Should I have used it until the battery died, then plugged it in and charged it fully before use? Or is none of this necessary initially and iPod batteries are good to go from the start?
Please excuse me if this is an obvious question, as this is my first ever iPod. Anyways, like I said, nothing in the "instructions" said anything about that, so I didn't do it, I just used it until it got below 20% battery left, then I plugged it in.
Now for the battery itself, it takes literally a day or so to fully charge, even while not in use. Even if I use it for a while, turn off the iPod to make sure it shuts off all background data and apps, and then plug it in to charge, it still charges extremely slowly. I've never seen a device take this long to charge. As for the battery life itself, I'd say at full charge it lasts about 4-5 hrs, maybe 6, and then I have to charge it again. Meanwhile it takes around 24 hours, without me using it, to fully charge. If I use it while its charging, the battery decreases faster than it charges, and eventually I'll get the typical "20% battery remaining" message pop up.
I know it is charging, as the lightning symbol is next to the battery symbol. Specifically, right now, I plugged it in about 1 hr 30 minutes ago, and it has barely gone up. Also, whenever I press the home button to check the battery, I can see it jump down from about 50% to somewhere around 25%-30%. What is that about?
This is really frustrating, and I'm seriously contemplating either taking it back and trying my luck with a different iPod, or just taking it back and getting my money back. Any help and clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated, and I'll answer any questions I can to shed more light on this.

It will take longer to charge the 5G's battery than either the 3G or 4G's battery.

I bought this very nice iMac. The first time I ever use a Apple product. Can someone please tell me where the delete key is on the keyboard. I cannot think for one moment that Apple did not provide for such a key. Please help.

The delete key does a backward delete because it is the natural way to delete while typing. May not be to you and the millions of youngsters who grew up with windows computers. When you are typing and want to delete that which you just typed you are already at the end and you delete back to where you want to re-type. When you go back to a document and want to delete a selection, you have to go to the end of the selection instead of the beginning. it's just the way its always been done on macs. it takes some getting use to.
If you select text to be deleted with your mouse then the delete key deletes the selected text. same for either delete key method.
It is not convenient when you tab to fields in a form. That why fn-delete does a forward delete.
Macs have a couple of keyboards. The small "wireless keyboard" only has the (backward) delete (fn-delete forward). The larger "Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" has both a Delete (backwards) key beside the = abd it has the "delete >" key in the groups with fn, home, end, Pg up and Pg dn. This keyboard is best for users who have switched from windows or are familiar with the windows forward delete.
