Please tell me there is a way to remove the slide that cuts up the pictures

Ok, your slideshow, photo album template in iphoto is THE BOMB.. so cool!
But, someone thought, hey lets put one that cuts all the photos up and almost surely cuts the important part of whatever the original photo was.. grr?
It wouldn't be so bad, if we could go back through the presentation and mix and match to make that slide work, but inevitably, it cuts out someone's head?
Please tell me there is a work around, or way to tell it not to use that slide option? I'd rather have more photo on photos or multi photo frames than anything auto cutting pictures.

Many of the themes are not designed for portrait oriented photos. That's what you're running into with the scrapbook theme. Not much you can do about it.
There's a 3rd party slideshow application, PhotoPresenter, that has over 25 animated themes. There are several that are sort of like the scrapbook that do handle the portrait as they should be handled. Some of the available themes are shown in this demo page: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes. Look at Portfolio, Frame and Album. It integrates seamlessly with iPhoto. and iTunes You can download and run it in demo mode.
The early fading of music in a slideshow is a well documented problem. Just send your complaint/bug report to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. The more reports the better.

That means there's no videos left on the iPad, and the downloads aren't really there.
Sounds like a job for Apple Support. They'll have to remove the downloads from the queue to clear the iPad.

PLEASE tell me there is a way to apply automatic strokes using the Pen Tool.

To apply pencil and brush strokes using the Pen Tool (in Photoshop CC - the version I'm using), I would constantly have to right-click on my path, and on the dialog menu that pops up, select "Stroke Path...," then select which "Tool" (I namely use the Pencil and Brush tools), then hit "OK." And that gets ANNOYING. This is Photoshop CC - which means there should be a way for the Pen Tool to automatically apply the (Pencil/Brush) strokes while I'm creating paths. Illustrator does that - so there should be a way for Photoshop to do that as well. It's a software a majority of artists use; there SHOULD be a way to automatically apply pen strokes. PLEASE tell me there is.

There are a number of ways to delete pictures from the Camera Roll. One is to open Camera Roll in the thumbnail view, tap the arrow button (top right), tap all the pictures you want to delete, tap the Delete button ant the bottom. Photo Library pictures are deleted by unchecking Sync Photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, followed by syncing your phone.

Hi! I am a recovering from chemo patient -- lots of pain and can only sit for short periods as well as off and on brain fog yet I am alive and this is good. It took me 3 hours today to write a very important concise yet detailed and to the point message to a doc today using the hospital patient portal messaging system. I felt fantastic that I did it and I got it done and I did it well. That was a big deal for me at this point in healing. Just for any "in case" situation I did a "save" (to the clipboard) of my message before pushing "Send". I received the message: "Thank you! Your message has been sent." Then I called the doc office to let them know and while the phone was ringing I noiticed "where's the message?" and "Oh, no, no, no, it's not here!" I hung up. I looked under Help, read, decided to do "contact us" using my yahoo acct. instead of mail, I copied the address. Then it hit me -- Oh no, no, no, I did not just overwrite 3 hours of off and on writing of a very important message with a puny email address, did I?!
I searched using Finder, via the Library, via Clipboard, via this and via that -- the only thing I saw that was at the same time I had "saved" the text to the clipboard was under cache.db, and under type it said a document. I have no idea what that is or how to open it and when I selected it there was the message to go to the APP store or use an existing program/application and I have no idea what to chose. I don't even know if that might be what I saved to the clipboard before I made my great faux pas.
Could anyone please help me? Am I looking in the right place? Is there a right place?
When I do a Finder search for Clipboard the last entry was earlier on the 16th. I did this on the 17th. Under cache under library is the only matching time.
I don't think I have it in me to rewrite (let alone remember) that entire letter (message) .
I will be ever so grateful for advice, for how-to; oh please, there must be a how-to -- those words didn't just disappear into non-existance, right?

Is there an easy way to remove duplicates in my library?

Hi there, since I first started using my ipod, I've had a new laptop. Having finally figured out (with your help!) how to move the songs from my ipod to the library on my new laptop, I did the transfer but it's duplicated loads of the tracks.
Is there an easy way to remove them/stop that from happening?

I'm trying to remove the search bar from the menu, but when I try it removes the navigation bar as well. Mozilla's help page shows there being a button to remove in the customize menu section, but it's not here so is there any other way to remove the search bar?

The Initial view setting works perfectly when the file is opened in Acrobat after setting the desired Initial View.
When you upload the file onto Wordpress, and view it on that website in the browser...it might be using a different pdf handler program which might be causing this issue ( it would be helpful, if you could provide the screenshot) , however when you download the pdf again from wordpress server...and open in Acrobat/Reader...then what exactly happens ? Does the pdf opens in the desired Initial View setting?

Please tell me there is a better way to configure multiple interfaces

I have a desktop with interfaces with statically assigned network addresses, I can't use rc.conf to configure them anymore so my /etc/rc.local file now looks like:

/sbin/ifconfig int0 192.168.0.1/24
I don't like this; it seems completely in-elegant and, worse, if I need to start up any demons that require networking to work, they aren't going to work. I've considered patching the initscripts, but this is inelegant because then I have to merge changes every time I update them. I guess maybe the best solution is to write my script for /etc/rc.d/, choosing a name unlikely to be taken by any script I'm likely to start in the future. Please tell me there is a better way to do this.

I read the news, it indicates that I can no longer use rc.conf to configure both of my network interfaces. It suggests using network manager, which is silly, because all I need to do is assign static IPs. So I spent some hours trying to find any documentation or examples on how to set this up with netcfg, but was unsuccessful. Then I read some forum posts, but they had answers like "yeah, you can't do that anymore, read the news". That was not helpful to me either (unless you mean to suggest that I should be using iproute instead of ifconfig in my scripts, which I see no need to do, ifconfig works and I already know what options to pass it). I also tried searching the arch general mailing list, but didn't see anything addressing the topic either this month or last month.
At any rate, I still haven't found a better solution to configuring multiple network interfaces than writing my /etc/rc.d/ script, although I have come across one other possible solution, namely, installing and configuring ifplugd, which I hadn't considered before.

Please tell me there is an easy fix to this problem!! I already had to go through contact-by-contact when I bought this phone and added contacts from my Blackberry and MS Outlook on the phone. Many duplicated at that time and Apple said the only fix was to go through each one and decide to keep or delete. I really don't want to do that again!

I had this problem while I had iOS 5.1.1 installed for many months. Fortunately I only have about 150 contacts and only about half of them duplicated. I found that my problem was the way thing were set up in Outlook. I removed all of the duplicates and corrected everything in Outlook contacts (ignoring the address book) and have not had the problem since, Hope this helps.

You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Is there is a way to export the themes from iDVD to DVD Studio Pro?

OK...so here's what I'm trying to find out: is there is a way to export the themes from iDVD to DVD Studio Pro? Or can I build the project in DVDSTPRO and import it to iDVD to build and burn?
I've read several threads here and haven't come across my specific question. If I missed it, please copy me a link. Otherwise, I'd like to use the templates/themes in iDVD with my FCP project.
I was thinking about importing the project from FCP to iDVD. Then, I thought about the markers etc....
So, if anyone had an idea, tip or link, I'm all for it!

Importing iDVD Projects and Themes
DVD Studio Pro 4 can import projects from iDVD 3 and iDVD 4. You can import an iDVD theme by using the theme in a project within iDVD and importing the project into DVD Studio Pro. When creating the project within iDVD, you do not need to use the final assets or make a complete project.
Note: DVD Studio Pro will not import projects from iDVD 1, iDVD 2, and iDVD 5. In general, iDVD needs to be installed on the same system as DVD Studio Pro. An exception is if you import an iDVD 4 archive project.
To import an iDVD project or archived project into DVD Studio Pro:
1 Do one of the following:
• Choose File > Open.
• Press Command-O.
2 Locate and select the iDVD project or iDVD 4 archive project in the Open dialog, then click Open.
DVD Studio Pro imports the iDVD project.
About the iDVD Project Import
When DVD Studio Pro imports an iDVD 3 or iDVD 4 project or iDVD 4 archive project, it has standard locations it looks for to find the assets and themes used in the project. This is especially important if the project uses custom themes.
The standard locations that DVD Studio Pro uses are (in this order):
• iDVD project bundle: This is the file created when you save the project.
• [user]/Library/iDVD/Favorites: This folder is located in your home folder.
• [root]/Library/iDVD/Favorites: This folder is located at the root of your disk.
• /Network/Library/iDVD/Favorites: This folder is on a network system specifically
configured by your system administrator for this purpose. (This is not the same as having a server networked into your computer.)
• iDVD application bundle: This is the iDVD application file that contains the default theme elements.
Note: When you create an archive project in iDVD 4, you can choose to include the themes and encoded files. For the best portability, you should include both options. This results in a larger archive file, but ensures you can take the file to any DVD Studio Pro system and import it without missing assets. If you do not choose to include the themes and encoded files in the archive file, those assets must be available in one of the standard locations.
If your project will have automatically-created chapter index (scene selection) menus based on markers embedded in the video, it can be easier to create these within iDVD prior to importing the project into DVD Studio Pro. This ensures the chapter index menus use the selected theme’s background and include arrow buttons to navigate between the menus.
Important: To ensure all iDVD menu elements import correctly into DVD Studio Pro, you must navigate to each chapter index menu within iDVD before saving the project. This is also true for any menus you add to your iDVD project by clicking the Folder button.
Issues With Importing iDVD Projects
There are some issues to be aware of when you import iDVD projects:
• If you import an iDVD project with DVD-ROM content, DVD Studio Pro does not update the settings in the Disc Inspector’s General tab to reflect the DVD-ROM content. You must manually select the DVD-ROM layout and choose the folder to include.
• When you create a slideshow in iDVD, you can add arrow buttons to each still to provide viewers with an additional method of jumping to the previous and next stills. These arrow buttons are not imported when you import an iDVD project into DVD Studio Pro. The viewer must use the Previous and Next buttons on the DVD player’s remote control to jump between stills.
• The button highlights used in iDVD may look different when imported into DVD Studio Pro. In most cases, the text in the buttons is set to be included in the highlight. Additionally, buttons that use an underline in iDVD will not have an underline when imported into DVD Studio Pro.
• When you import an iDVD project, you may find that the button that is highlighted by default on some menus changes. During the project import, DVD Studio Pro numbers the buttons on each menu and highlights button 1 by default. You can assign any button on a menu to be the default button in the Menu tab in the Menu Inspector.
• If you import an iDVD project that contains a drop zone configured as a slideshow and has multiple slides assigned to it, DVD Studio Pro only shows the slideshow’s first slide in the drop zone.

in iTunes Mac there is in the File menu "show duplicates", should be there too in the windows version of iTunes. Just mark every double and delete it from the library.
