Please tell me what "EDO" Memory is.

I want to expand the memory on a friends computer
but I need to Know what is ment by "EDO"
and what is different about this configuration
of memory and if someone knows what does
EDO stand for ?

Extended Data Out - see definitions at:
http://www.hardwarecentral.com/hardwarecentral/tutorials/52/3/
Basically, if your friend has an older machine, it will not be compatible with EDO RAM, so you'll need to get non-EDO RAM. Does he/she have the original documentation? If not, look at the existing RAM for a manufacturer/model numbr and try looking it up on the web
