Please wait. Very Low battery warning but wont charge

I have a message with a greyed out screen saying "Please Wait. Very Low Battery" but the ipod will not charge.
Any suggestions?

You're sure the cable is working as well, are you? (I have a cable that has a torn plastic sleeve and now the inner wires are showing. It won't be long before it fails to work.)
Have you tried another cable, perhaps try someone else's cable and they try yours? Also, have you tried the reset procedure? Hold the Menu and Select (centre) buttons down for at least ten seconds to see if the iPod re-starts.

I have worked my way through the assistant and nothing works. I have tried connecting in disc mode but although the screen on the ipod is showing that the device is charged and that it is in disc mode as soon as I connect it to the computer it comes up with the error message 'please wait very low battery' and stays like that until I disconnect when it appears to be OK again. I have tried on both pc and mac.
BTW the ipod is an ipod video not classic if that makes any difference.
    Thanks

  • "Please wait, very low battery" display

    Hi,
My iPod is displaying the message "please wait, very low battery" on the dark screen with a picture of a battery.  I have tried to reset it (holding down menu and select button) but the apple logo comes up (on a very dark screen as well) and then it goes back to the low battery message.  I have had it plugged into a USB for 2 hours so I don't see how it could still be very low battery to the point where the screen does not even light up.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

It's likely that the battery is shot and in need of replacement.  You can choose to have Apple replace it or a third party repair company at a lower cost.

  • Fitted new battery - "Please wait, very low battery" + cogwheel

Have just got hold off a old ipod 5th gen, 30gb black.
plugged in, no response so replaced the battery with new one
Have replaced the battery, connected to computer (mac) via usb - have had it connected for over 4 hours now and it still says 'Please wait very low battery" with cogwheel spinning constantly.
    Have tried resetting - menu+center
    ??

Think it was the connector from the back plate to the middle -of the board - just underneath the display that was probably wonky - blew around etc... also the black sticker on the battery was loose - so taped it up with a little selotape - and it worked BUT the click wheel / center button doesnt respond - how easy is this to fix / costs / or is there anything i should look for / do to try and fix it?
btw, the hold switch turns it on/off

OK, here is my problem...i leave my ipod classic charging for 2 days and it still has the 'Please wait, very low battery" sign! what should i do? Please answer!

When you connect the iPod to the adapter or PC, you should see either of these signs on the iPod Screen .
    If you just get
It may mean that your Adapter is not giving enough juice, because
the adapter or the cable  is defective or
your bottom dock connector is dirty with lint or dirt.

  • "please wait very low battery" keeps after 1 hour charging

I keep getting the folowin message after more than one hour charging " please wait very low battery "

Always connect the iPod to a USB2.0 port at the back of your PC.
Dont connect to low power USB ports, on the fron of the PC, dont use USB Hubs, (may cause Sync problems and coruupt filesytem)
if you are using a Mac, dont connect to the USB port on the keyboard.

  • Please wait very low battery and apple logo comes up after some time make some noice

My ipod classic 30 GB shows "please wait very low battery" and apple logo comes up after some time make some noice

Try the Hrad reset, especially must  charge the battery for at least 2 hours.
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the  next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
    Then release the buttons
    Select your preferred language.

  • My 30gb keeps restarting/rebooting and say "please wait. very low battery" help?

ITs has the Apple Logo Then It Make Funny Mechanic Sounds Then Say "Please Wait. Very Low Battery" The Screen Never Lites Up and It Does the same process over again rebooting with the same screens. never has the chance to connect to computer and at one point said www.apple.com/support. i don't the OS

Here's what I did today and so far so good.
I charged the ipod using a firewire cable, which seems to work for charging as does my other auxiliary chargers, car etc. When on these powered chargers the ipod works fine, but no ability to sync.
Did many resets while on the charger.
I put the hold button on and very quickly swapped from the firewire to the USB, low and behold it boots, syncs and charges.
I did a full restore and disabled disk use.
It's syncing now, I'll let you know if it messes up again.

  • Stuck on "Please Wait, Very Low Battery"!

I have a 30G ipod with video, and recently i fell asleep with it on. I'm assuming the battery completely drained. I plugged it in the next day, and I get the animated message "Please Wait. Very Low Battery." It will not leave this screen. I've kept it on several hours at a time but it doesn't seem to do anything. iTunes doesn't recognize it either, and I've tried resetting, reinstalling iTunes, AND even reinstalling the driver itself. PLEASE help!?

Currently, I am having the exact same problem. I have reset numerous times. I have tried ten different USB ports on three computers, and with two different USB cables. This problem comes up a lot with my 80GB 5.5 gen. Any time the battery gets below half full, it refuses to charge through a USB port, and it has done so since January. This seems like a pervasive problem, and I guess I just want there to be a solution that isn't replacement because tons of people are having the same issue so replacement probably won't solve it.

  • Please wait very low battery then logo apple

    i have an ipod classic
which gives very low battery then it gives apple logo then tafer that it gives a sing and it said (apple.com/support)

If it is just a fully discharged battery, you need to connect it for about 30 minutes before the iPod Screen comes back to life and show the charging symbols.
But since you have plug it in for 3 hours, and there is no sign of life, then have the battery replaced, connecting it for 30 hours is also of no use, as the battery wont charge, and the moment you disconnect it, the iPod will go off.
    Have a nice day!

  • HT1339 ipod display says please wait very low battery

what can i do to restore my ipod classic?

    Really
Which model of iPod do you actually have?
An iPod Classic does not use iOS 3.1.3 (as noted in your tags) or any other iOS.
If the display says "please wait, low battery" - have you charged it up?
Why do you want to Restore your iPod, whichever model it actually is?
To Restore and iPod, connect it to iTunes, look on the iPod's Summary pane and select Restore. Note that Restore will delete everything from your iPod.
iPods can be Reset, which often sorts out minor problems. How to Reset depends which iPod you have.

  • HT1435 hi there i have this problem with my ipod on the second picture which says "Pease Wait Very Low Battery" but it will not charge at all or turn on, sync with computer anybody any ideas.

Hi there I have an ipod classic which will not charge and keeps saying "Please Wait Very Low Battery" can anbody help me its just sad to see it go.

Normally it takes 2 to 4 hours to fully charge an iPod Battery, using a USB2.0 port or wall charger.
Even if the battery is dead, you can have it replaced at Apple Store for about US$60 or at any 3rd Party Ipod Service Center for less.
