None of the software (Logic, Garageband) is compatible between Mac OSX and Windows 7.
Your best choice is to look for similar programs avaialble on Windows.
There are several.. "Cubase" by Steinberg, "Sonar" by 12-Tone, and "ProTools" by Digidesign.

I don't think you will have sucess. The problem is that old versions of Logic on Windows had a 2GB memory limit. Which is below the limit for Window 8. I have only read about failures to run old Logic versions on recent Windows versions. Sorry.

You might want to check your firmware version. Go to: Settings>General>About. Look at the version field, it should be: 5.0.1(9A406). If it's 9A405 you need to update the firmware by connecting your phones to iTunes and updating it. This worked for me as I work on a ship and don't have a signal inside. I was having to do your little trick many times during the day when I would go outside to check for messages.

OT: looking for Logic Audio for Windows XP

Apologies for the crass request, but I'm looking a cheap copy of Logic Audio that will run on Windows XP. I just found some old Logic Audio recordings I did years ago, but I've lost my LAGW 4 CD, and in any case, I'm not sure if LAGW 4 even worked on Windows XP .... I've come to love Macs at work, but I haven't saved enough to make the move at home.

I assume the key you refer to is analogous to the dongle I have for LAGW, and it sounds as if you are not willing to part with yours . I don't care much about stability, since my main interest at the moment is to do an audio track dump (with edits) and MIDI export so I can continue working in Cubase in the near term. It's frustrating ... there must be many thousands of people out there with unused copies of Logic Audio for Windows, especially since it was never very stable, even on Windows 95 .

With so many people requesting to merge 2 legitimate accounts that they own, I can't understand why Apple is refusng to allow us to do so! This would simplify our lives so much. I have just switched over to Apple products and if I could at least set up both accounts on my iPad it would help -without signing in and out. I could do this on my android.

Why won't my Mac & Logic Pro detect my input device(s)?

I'm using a macbook with OSX 10.8.2 and Logic Pro with a steinberg interface. I have also tried a tascam interface that was given to me by a friend to try, but I still have the same problem:
Logic doesnt detect either of the interfaces, and neither does my mac. However both interfaces detect the computer as indicated by their LEDs. I can switch on things like phantom power on the interfaces themselves, so the connection is live, but neither the computer nor the program can see them.
I have used this exact setup in the past, but it's been over a year since I used logic and now I'm out of practice and just stumped.
Any help?

Alright.., I will try this and hope i´ll do it right. My (a little older ) MacBook Pro has the same problem, it just wont shut down. Things works kind of fine until I shall shut it down, cause then the wheel will spin and spin and spin (and it goes to sleep still spinning), so it must be some corrupted files or app that is stuck. I just bought MacOs10.6.3 to reinstall or recover the harddrive, but I´ve never done these things on a Mac before. I have formated in Windows alright, but I am worried about the drivers, I dont know how to back them up! ??? Where do I find them? I hope I dont have to wipe the disc out fully, that it helps with just some cleaning up. I will come back after my "operation".. please wish me good luck! I really dont want it to crash completely.. Waves 9 won't work with logic pro x

I downloaded waves v9 but it still won't show up on my Logic Pro. It is a 64 bit polgin

If... you have updated to the latest version of Waves 9
and...
You have correctly installed/activated/validated them using the Waves License Center and the Waves AU Reg Utility (That you must run after installing the updates..) then they work pretty good with Logic. I know.. I use them on a daily basis... No magic... no special tricks...
The Waves plugins themselves still have a few bugs in them which is why Waves keeps updating them..(There have been several updates to Waves 9 since release across all platforms and not just OS X...) but it isn't anything to do with Logic... Its programming bugs in the Waves plugins themselves that cause the remaining issues..
So.. if you cannot get them to work properly, contact Waves support for assistance...
