PLIKZ field for COPA data source not there in Extract structure.

Hello all,
When I create a data source for COPA the PLIKZ field from the segment level is not maintained in the Extract structure and it is not replicated to BW also. But the other field GJHAR is maintained in the Extract structure which is also there in the segment level!!
Clarify me why it is not available in extract structure? Also we are in 4.7 version and 3, 5 in BW.
Points will be assigned!!!

Newly added field in the data Source not getting populated

Hello All,
We have added few fields in the Data Source. The Data Source is based on the InfoSet. We have included the field in the Infoset and have updated the code to fetch the value for the newly added fields.
When we perform the test extraction for this Data Source in RSA3, the newly added fields are not getting populdated with the value. In the system generated query's selection list, the newly added fields are not selected.
Please let mw know how to get the newly added field selected in the system generated query of the infoset.

Hi,
As you said you have added the filed in Info Set. Have you included the same in data source? try if not.
If you are trying to create a query in source system to check the data. I guess in R/3 (ECC) then you have to include the new field in slection critera (ther is an option available on top menu).
I would suggest before creating any query go to RSO2 select the data source. Display the field structure and check if the filed is there or not. You maysee Infoset level data directly by data display from top menu. Try that optionas well to check.

Delta load for a data source not enabled

Dear Experts,
We have got the requirement to create reports on shipment details.
Based on the requirement we have identified the
Infosouce/ Data source : 0OI_TD_OIGSII
Info Cube: 0OI_TDC01. we think this cube will satisfy the requiremnt.
But the problem is the data source is not delta enabled. so how do we extract the data and how to capture the delta.
when we checked in Roosource table the delta field is blank (Delta only with Full Upload (ODS or InfoPackage Selection))
These data sources are IS OIL specific, so dont know the data extraction procedure.
Please through some light and help me.

Delete duplicate request is a process chain variant, which will allow you to set the duplicate request deletion options. You need to explore those options.
Now say you have a routine in the DTPs.
DTP1 = Current Month
DTP2 = Prevoius Month
In the month of July,
DTP1 = 07/2009
DTP2 = 06/2009
On daily basis DTP1 will load data for July and DTP2 will load data for June. Now delete duplicate request will delete the previous requests loaded by each of them for the same month. Meaning delete duplicate request for DTP1, will delete the request loaded for 07/2009 and DTP2 will delete the duplicate request for 06/2009.
Now when you will be in Aug, the routine will change the selection criteria
DTP1 = 08/2009
DTP2 = 07/2009, so now DTP2 will delete teh duplicate request for 07/2009 and load the new data. Now the data changed for 06/2009 is not possible to load as you have only 2 DTPs.
For safer side, you can create 3 DTPs to take care of the last 3 months, but first test the logic for two DTPs and then go further for the third DTP.

Issue with Safety Upper limit for CALDAY Field for Generic Data Source

Hi,
I have given Upper limit as 1 for Calday field of one of the Generic Data Sources.
I have got a doubt here.If today's load got failed and I will rerun the load next day.So Will that new run captures all 2 days records.
Can any one advise me on this.

A one-day upper safety interval determines that an extraction run today, only fetches records up to yesterday (if the pointer has the day before yesterday date, the extraction comprises from the day before yesterday to yesterday). This is meant to avoid missing records that were about to be persisted in the database when the delta extraction is running but whose date was determined in memory before the delta started.
If pointer has today date value and you want to load data from today and yesterday, you should use a lower safety interval. Take into account that this could reload data previously extracted. Therefore, only InfoProviders with overwritting features (DataStores or InfoObject master data) should be used as targets of this extractions.

Time Stamp Delta field for Generic Data Source

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to create a Generic Data Source based on view. This view on PA0006 and PA0105 tables.
Will you please suggest me which field i have to take as delta field.

Also, make sure that whenever a new record is created in those tables, field AEDTM is getting updated with system date else you will miss new records in delta unless there is a change in those newly created records.

Delta field for generic data source based on view EKBE

Hello,
I am creating a generic datasource based on table EKBE. Can anyone please tell me what field should I use for delta. Is it BUDAT(Posting Date in the Document) or CPUDT(Day On Which Accounting Document Was Entered).

BUDAT is the date which can be changed. I can change the date in system and chances are it will not pick in delta.
CPUDT is the date on which document was created/changed.

COPA Data Source: possible to enhance using exit?

Hi BI experts,
I got a question about if it is possible to enhance COPA data source by using user exit (just like the way to enahance other data sources in the business content).
The background:
I have to include several new fields in COPA data source. Since COPA data source is generated (not a data source from business content like LIS data sources).
My questions:
1) Is it the recommended way to enhance the existing COPA data source using exit?
2) or it would be better to delete the existing one and create a new one with the two additional fields?
3) any potential issue to be expected?

Yes, we can enhance COPA DS via User Exit, Provided the fields should be from other different tables which are not from Segment Tables.
2) or it would be better to delete the existing one and create a new one with the two additional fields?
If the fields are from Segment Tables, it is always better to delete the existing one and Recreate the same
3) any potential issue to be expected?
Appending/Enhancing fields are always bit difficult and my lead into errors in future, based on the critical functionality we use.. But I recommend DELETE THE DS AND RECREATE WITH COPA always.Hope it helps

Delta On CALDAY Filed for Generic Data Source

I have enabled delta option on CALDAY Field for Generic Data Source.
I thought of giving Safety Interval for Upper Limit as 1 and Safety Interval for Upper Limit as ZERO.Would you please advise me on this, This fetches all delta data?.

If your delta enabled field is Date then try this,
Safety Interval Upper Limit Calend. Days
Safety Interval Lower Limit 1 Calend. Days
Then test your delta, will get good result.
I created 4 GDS with this safety interval and working fine for me.

COPA data source RSA3, RD155

Hi,
when we run the RSA3 for COPA data source 1_CO_PA2901000_ACC we get error RD155 " No Source could be found to answer the search query".

Data Not coming Properly for 0HR_PA_OS_1 Data Source?

Hi Experts,
I am trying to load data to 0PAOS_C01 using 0HR_PA_OS_1 data source. For field 0POS_OCCVAC key figure i am not getting any data from Data Source.
I checked in RSA3 for 0HR_PA_OS_1 data source and in that it is not populating data for filed OCC_VAC_PERC field. I checked with HR functional team and they mentioned its a BI issue.
Kindly tell me how can i populate values for the particular field. FYI i am getting correct data for other fields.

The possible reasons
1.Your user id might not be having the proper authorization to pull the HR data.This you can confirm with your basis guy,if you are unable to find what are the authorization roles required for HR data, for the time being you can take SAP_ALL authorization in development box and try to pull.
OR
2.Try to pull from BW side,you may be able to see the data there because this uses the background user id used in RFC connection ( provided if your background user id having proper authorization ).

COPA data source does not allow delta - once more

When I try to generate COPA data source (tran KEB0) the system already have "Generic delta" in delta method field.
I want to use timestamp instead of that. How I can switch to timestamp?

All COPA datasources are timestamp based (which is a generic delta method).
I do not think you have an option to change it (not that there is any need since it already is what you want ie timestamp based), the system automatically creates a timestamp based delta method (each delta extracting records upto 30 min back from the current extraction time). Do not worry about the 'generic delta method' appearing in your KEB0.

COPA data source - add a field

Hi Experts,
I got answer to the question that I asked for adding ship-to party to COPA data source and in operating concern.
Now, when I go to KEB0 and display datasource, it doesnt show my added field ship-to party as checked.
so, help me understanding
1) how can I apply the change in operating concern to datasource? or make field visible in extract structure
2) if i delete the datasource and re-create it, will my CE1XXXX, CE2XXXX, CE3XXXX, CE4XXXX are cleared or not?
3) I have active delta running on COPA datasource, what are the steps to ensure contnuity of this delta?
4) if i need to fill newly added field in the CE1XXXX, CE2XXXX, CE3XXXX, CE4XXXX tables (historical value for ship-to), how can I achieve this?
5) what steps I need to take care while transporting these changes to prod?

Following steps will help you...
1) use "KEQ3" to activate "KUNWE" characteristics for Ship-to Party
2) Add the field in your data structure in tcode "KEA0".
3) Activate and generate the "Operating concern"

Power View in SharePoint Server - The data extension type for a data source is not valid

Hi All,
All of a sudden I am getting following error when trying to create Power View report using shared report data source (no error testing the connection):
"The current action cannot be completed. The data extension type for a data source
'http://dev/Shared Ducuments/Sales.rsds' is not valid for this operation"
I already have a data source (I had created it after creating my site collection a week ago) and when I use this source to create Power View report then there is no error but I am getting above error when I create another similar data source and use it to create
a Power View report.
Please help me to resolve the error.

COPA data source does not allow delta

I wanna generate new COPA data source. I did it but it doies not allow to establish delta.
Where I go to Simulate initialization of delta method and try to determinate time stamp the system tells me that "Function is not possible because data source is defined for generic delta"
How can I establish delta???

Aleksandrs, normally you only have to run a init load from BW. Then only delta packages.

Oracle Data Source not showing proposal fields

Hi, I need to create a DB Connect - Oracle Data Source. I go to the table / view matchcode, and I find the view we created for this data source, and in Proposal it doesn't bring any fields. I press the refresh button, and nothing happens.
Any idea what this could be??

Change the data in the Flat file for Date field in the format YYYYMMDD. Then try viewing the Preview.
If it still shows error message like your system format does not match, Check the System date format, you can check in SU01-->defaults tab, change the data in the flat file with your system format and check.
