     i have a scenario where in , there is a document which contains fields like d1, d2, d3....dn.
     and there is SAP system in which we have materials list table (m1 ,m2, m3,.....Mn).
     when d1 is updated m1 should automatically .
      so how can i do it

Activate extension PLM and SCM

Hi All
For Business package for Maintenance Supervisor ./Technical/Planner ,i need to activate the extension for PLM and SCM.
Can anyone let me know how can i do that?
We are on ERP 6.0 EHP3 with xRPM installed as add-on.
Moreover if anyone of you have configured BP for Maintenance for Supervisor /Planner/Technician ,it has another requirement of BI 7.0 Add-on.
Do i understand correctly that i will have to install BI as add-on on the ERP system??

You can use SFW5, SFW4 and SFW3 here you can activate the PLM extenstions.

I am working on Document management system(CV01 and cv02)......
The requirements are.....
1) I have crated a Document Info record(CV01) and attached originals(Drawing,diagrams) to the document in SAP system.
If user reqest to open a original in SAP then it should connect to PDM WEB client and it should fetch the original from PDM server for viewing and editing the original.
How can I implemet this scenario...Should i wrire code in ABAP or Any advaced technology(BSP or PORTAL) should i sue....
Please let me know??

RFC for PLM and R/3

I have 2 servers R/3 and PLM . I want to create a program in R/3 wherein i want to fetch daat from PLM. So i want to connect between the two. There is already a connect between R/3 dev. server and PLM dev. server. I am using the function module 'RFC_READ_TABLE' to get data of table DPR_PROJECT which is in PLM server. On execution of this FM, i get all the data from table DPR_PROJECT in R/3 dev. server(i have written a program in which i call this FM). But i want to filter this data before it is called. Like if i want data for a specific GUID which is in table DPR_PROJECT, then i am not able to restrict this fetching of data. This FM brings all the records from table DPR_PROJECT into R/3. But this will cause performance issue. Is there any other method or other FM wherein i can restrict data or only get that data which i require and not all the records.

If they are the same thing, I think ECC6.0 comes with PLM full version. Therefore there is no seperate PLM installation.
BTW, how do basis admin help with PLM implementation?

Hi,
Yes ECC6.0 comes with complete PLM solution ,may be some components you need to activate with separate licensining agreement.
In PLM implementation Basis person has to create and maintain roles for PLM users. Also if you use EP components in PLM implementation then the server administration will be managed by Basis consultant.
Some PLM modules as DMS,contenet server management and configuration is responsibility of Basis person.
So basically all PLM roles and server maintainace is done by Basis.

Hi Lois,
EH&S is part of the PLM Extension.
The software component is EA-APPL (SAP Enterprise Extension PLM, SCM, Financials).
That means that EH&S is not independent from the PLM extension.
In SAP configuration you should activate the PLM extension in order to use EH&S. Some parts of EH&S (ECM objects, SAP Menu entries, ...) will be in place when activating the PLM extension.

PLM and ECC 6.0

Can we get all functionality of SAP PLM in ECC6.0 or we have to install c project, c folder etc in standard package to get access. Any specific settings or prerequisites are there. If yes how to get those components.

My intention is after installing the SAP ECC 6.0 in my PC, I can start practicing, as no good institutes are available in India for PLM training. So I have to ask the person who will install ECC 6.0 for other required componets, as explained by you people, to accomadate enabling me to get smooth practicing.
However yours answer is very useful . Anything in this regard will definitely helpful for me to start practicing of my own.I am sure lot more aspirants will be interested to know the procedures and how we can install different components. Service market place speaks lot of helpful links, but seems to be complicated.

Acrobat 3D and PDMS

Hi,
Is there is there anyone that have experiences from PDMS and Acrobat 3D? I received a .dng file from the designer that was just a small dot in Acrobat. I had to zoom in maximum to see the machine itself. I tried to scale the machine in Acrobat, but I couldn't find how to do it. I also tried to rotate the machine but it acted like it was a 2D drawing, and it is not in PDMS. Is there anyone that know the best settings in PDMS and Acrobat when importing a file from PDMS to Acrobat 3D?

Has anyone successfully integrated or incorporated data from an Agile PLM installation into SAP Hana? Does SAP have experience in moving object oriented databases into In Memory schemas?

Hi Frank,
well, first of all, your application provides log configuration information using an XML file at deployment time. This file is called log-configuration.xml (you can see the DTD description here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/48/ef8748caed894bb4b3ae953a60c592/frameset.htm). There you can set configure log controllers, which could be two types: location and category. So, you can specify your location and severity there. This is described here: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/35/671c0136b4714c9e1b16b68211287b/frameset.htm.
Then, after the application is deployed, the log configurations you provided for it are registered with the Log Configuration tool I mentioned about. Using this tool you can later on modify your configurations at runtime (for example, change the severity level) without having to redeploy the application.

Hi Saleel,
generally there is no difference between PLM and DMS. Because DMS is a part of the SAP PLM module. If you are talking about DMS this means mostly transaction CV01N, CV02N, CV03N and CV04N. These transactions cover the main functionalities of the SAP Document Management System (DMS).
However if your R/3 system includes the PLM module then the DMS functionality is also available in the mentioned transactions.

Enterprise SOA and SAP PLM

I am currently looking for information about enterprise services related to SAP PLM.
So far, I have found a lot about SOA/Enterprise SOA in general but nothing specific about Enterprise Services for SAP PLM.
Are there any ES Bundles for SAP PLM or any PLM related services in the ES workplace? Could anyone give me a hint where to search for informationen concerning the combination of SAP PLM and Enterprise Services?
