Hi experts,
Our ERP system is ECC 6.0 without enhancement pack. The client requires PLM to be installed.
Please let me know the prerequisists for PLM on ECC 6.0
SAP_BASIS ---> 700 Level
SAP_ABA ---> 700 Level
SAP_APPL ---> 600 Level
EA-APPL -
> 600 Level

Yes - you fulfill the requirements. In a true 10.2.0.1 DB environment (not XE), you would not even be able to install APEX 4.0.1.
The primary requirement for database version 10.2.0.3 is the change made to SYS.DBMS_SYS_SQL.PARSE, where the ability to observe database roles was added. I highly doubt this feature would be disabled by setting compatible to 10.2.0.1.

Installer requires Admin Privilege to run

I'm a new user on a Macbook. Its been about 20 years since I last was on an apple. I need help, I'm trying ton install a game on my laptop. When I click on the installer to install the game a window pops up saying "installer requires Admin privilege to run" and the only option is to quit. What do I need to do to get this game installed?

I'm most surprised that a new account with admin permissions wasn't able to perform the install I'm at a loss what might be causing that to be honest ... maybe the repair permissions on the drive will sort it out, perhaps the entire folder has had write access removed somehow. You could select the destination folder location and Get Info on it and look at the permissions settings at the bottom, does it allow any user to Write there or is it Read only I wonder ?

I am trying to install software from a DVD on my Mac Mini, When I click on the installer I get the message "The installer requires admin priviledges to run." I have admin priviledges when I look at the account info in Sytem Preferences. ANyone have an idea what to do about this?

It's a defective installer. If it needs elevated privileges to run, it should prompt for an administrator password. Since the installer is defective, you can assume that whatever it installs -- or would install, if it worked -- is also defective.

Probably because you do not have an audio and/or video codec used for compressing/decompressing data in the AVI file. AVI, like MOV, are just file containers capable of holding many different kinds of data. The originator of the AVI file (Microsoft) dropped its official support of this file type more than a decade ago but its popularity with Windows users lingers on. Unfortunately, with few exceptions, the compression formats commonly used in the AVI file container may or may not still be in use. Some were never transcoded for use on the Mac platform. Others are so old that they have never been updated for use under OS X. Of thise transcoded for OS X use, some have not been updated for Intel based platforms. Thus, while QT supports the container itself, it does not natively support the third-party and/or proprietary codecs used, many of which, are now classed as "legacy" codecs and are out of date in terms of today's video compression technology.

Installer: Installation requires Windows XP

Hi,
when creating an installer with Win XP and LV 2009, I can check the box for requirements: Win 2000 or higher.
But, when trying to run the setup.exe on a Win 2000 system, the error message: This installation requires Windows XP pops up.
Any help?

You should make a verbose log, and test my last tip (also combined with my first tip) here http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Win2000/m-p/1238020#M524213 I do not have any Win2000 systems any more so I can not test it. I suspect it is the installer system itself that require windows XP
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted

Installation Requirements for Oracle Apps Forms and Report Services OEL

Where can i find detail information about the installation requirements for Oracle Application Server Forms and Report Services under OEL 4 (Oracle Enterprise Linux) or OEL 5?
It seems there's only information about Oracle Application Server in general, not the reduced or partiuclar distribution, Forms and Reports Services.

I already saw the documentation for Forms and Reports Services Installation.
This thread is about the specific requirements, if any, for this product on OEL 5 or OEL 4.
See, there's a note on Metalink(546174.1) regarding some specific issues about installing Oracle Application Server on OEL5, but i'm not sure if this involves Oracle Application Server Forms and Reports Services.
The idea is to know if these issues applies to this specific distribution .

This installer requires admin privileges to run

I'm trying to install a new Application (ViaCAD 2D/3D). I get the message "This installer requires admin privileges to run" with no option to enter admin password.
Thing is, I am clearly the Admin user with all privs.
Searched a lot of forums and tried a lot of ideas... but to no avail. Prior installations proceeded without error. Of course, the manufacturer support simply blamed Apple and closed the support question. Console log shows no errors.
This one has me totally stumped (and I have 20+ years admin experience).

Update:
The application installed on another system running 10.4. On the offending system, I tried another Admin account, ran repair permissions from Utilities, made sure Admin had R/W privs on Apps folder, moving the .dmg file to the Applications folder, did a reboot, searched for a VidCad plist file. Out of ideas.

BI JAVA Installation require EP CORE ,EP

Can we install BI java only by using EP Core and EP installed on diff. host. ( another system)

AFAIK the answer is NO.
BI Java "lives" in the Java stack and needs EP, EP Core and stuff like ADS as its software base.
So IF you already have another EP, now you have two of them and are maybe faced to think about things like federated portals.

What I do not believe you can is installing the BI Java stuff into an existing EP.

Installation requires too many services to stop

I'm trying to install the Developer Tools for Visual Studio .Net and the installer is requiring over 30 core windows services to be shutdown. This includes but is not limied to:
Computer Browser, Logical Disk Manager, Remote Registry, Server, Workstation, etc..
There's no possible way to shutdown these services and have Windows available. There must be some other issue.
Config: Dell D800 Laptop, XP Pro, 1GB Ram, 9.2.0.6 Database installed (with 10g installer) in c:\oracle\ora92. I'm tyring to install into that oracle_home.
A word document with a screen shot of error message is attached.

Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio .NET (ODT) install includes Oracle Client 10g in its installation. If you install ODT into your oracle 92x home, you are going to have both oracle 10g and oracle 92x binaries in the same oracle home.
This is not a supported configuration.
I would suggest one of the following:
1. installing ODT into its own Oracle Home
or
2.create a 10g oracle home with a database in it and install ODT into this oracle home

Installation requirements - Headstart 6.5.3.0 for 9i

Hi,
In the installation guide: INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORACLE HEADSTART 6.5.3.0 for 9i, one of the requirements is : Oracle 9iAS infrastructure 9.0.2.0.1.
Is it really necessary to have the Oracle 9iAS infrastructure or is the Oracle 9iAS Forms/Reports services enough ?

This is a quite common development architecture. If you have your forms server running, than deploying a Headstart application is no different from any other application. If you also want to configure the headstart utilities, administration and foundation application, then you need to configure some Aliases in your forms90.conf. If you use the latest release (6.5.3.0 for 9i), there some sample configuration files in the Environment_Setup/9iasr2conf directory.

So I'm asking any BT installation phone line (and fibre optic broadband) STAFF in the east london area or willing to travel east ham 2 mins from the station I would be really much appreciative if they can come install BT LINE.

I required a new line installed but iv been given appointment in 4 weeks time on Jan 13th 2014.
This is a matter of urgency I would like if their is genuine kind excellent bt installation guy that can do me a big favour and come install iv heard it takes less then 30mins.
My eldery parents can't receive landline calls as we don't have phone line.
And no broadband Internet we are having to pay using dongle/mifi and this is very expensive short term.
I require BT infinity set up too. But getting a phone line is urgently first important
I understand their is this Is the holiday season and many staff are off but I'm quite certain that you have many staff in London that don't celebrate x mass and can take out an hr of the day to do this urgent request.
Iv explained my situation to customer service they are unable to bring a closer date. But said if I knew of any BT guy that can do it then it's possible.

You need at least 1GB RAM for the database server, is it possible the OS and/or other applications already occupy more than 1GB, so you don't have enough memory for Oracle?

PLM installation

Hi, I am new to PLM and was asked today to spec out what it would take to install a PLM instance. I have spent a bunch of time in OSS looking for the components and am not finding much outside of the PLM/PPM component. From what I can tell, this is a component of ECC but I am not sure if it is an addon component or part of the base install.
Can anyone give me a highlevel oveview of what is involved in the PLM landscape since it is not clearly called out by SAP?
