PLM WEB UI - Personal Object Worklist for Material BOMs dumps in Portal

We installed business package for PLM WEB User interface and we start playiong around with the POWL functionality. For some reason teh system ends in an error calling ....../sap/bc/webdynpro/PLMU/wda_wcc_myobj/

What can I do?

If the termination type was ABORT_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can find more information on the cause of the termination on the application server sapdl1_DL1_00 in transaction SM21.
If the termination type was ERROR_MESSAGE_STATE, then you can search for more information in the trace file for the work process 2 in transaction ST11 on the application server sapdl1_DL1_00 . In some situations, you may also need to analyze the trace files of other work processes.

However , if I run this service as a standalone URL I get a screen where I can fill in an application, business object and/or system. If I select one, it works perfectly
What step do I miss?

A POWL (Personal Object Work List) is an individual list generated by query that provides an overview of the user's working environment by presenting one or more list of objects, as a set from which the user can select items to work on. There are some POWLs which are already predefined and delivered together with the applications available in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. However, if the default POWLs do no meet the customer requirements, it is possible to change the query values or to assign different POWLs to the application you like.
Configuration Settings in the Backend System:
1. Log on to the backend system <System ID> you want to configure
2. Start the transaction POWL_QUERY
3. Click on button New Entries
4. Enter a name for Query ID and the corresponding Description.
5. Select an available Type via F4 help
6. Save your query definition
7. Go back to the Main Table View: Initial Screen and select the Query youve already created
8. Click on Details or <Ctrl-Shift-F2>
9. Click on button Query Parameters
10. Fill in some values for one/more selection criteria
11. Save your changes
You may need to assign the POWLs you would like to display for a specific Application (e.g. Customer Fact Sheet). In order do this, you should do the following:
12. Start transaction POWL_QUERYR.
13. Click on button New Entries

2) Maintain an application id using the transaction FPB_MAINTAIN_HIER
3) Go to transaction POWL_TYPE to define a powl type. point it to your newly created class.
4) Next in the transaction POWL_TYPER maintain the newyl created powl type with the application id.
5) Using transaction POWL_QUERY create a default query. In this step you will have to specify the type of query (again the powl type). Here you will be mentioning the type of query.
6) using POWL_CAT maintain a category. The category is used to group multiple queries of the same type.
7) In POWL_QUERYR maintain the default query created with the application id and the category.
8) call the powl application with the applid.

Creation of Personal Object Worklists - can anyone help...?

We have a portal where in which the end users(actually power users) can view reports, run queries within the privileges of their authorizations,change queries and save them etc.....
All the data for the reports comes from ECC(backend).
Given the above situation I want to create a Personal Object Worklist(POWL).
POWL is totally new ,hence i need in-depth info ;would be really helpful if someone can explain the concept of POWL comprehensively please...!

I am able to link the document from CS02 - BOM transaction, am not able to link document from DMS transaction (CV01N).

Hello,
The links to certain objects are not provided from DMS side, They can be only linked from production side.
Hence you will find the screen disabled in DIR. These restrictions are specifically given by SAP.

Now I got only the Web dynpro ABAP component for create sales order called "LO_OIF_MAIN_COMP" and GUI HTML for purchasing order that come with business package Eh4.

You could just lookup the WD Application in SE80 and then it will show you the component name. From SE80 choose Edit Object from the toolbar. Go to the Web Objects tab in the dialog. Type in the WD Application name and hit enter. You will then see the details of that application.

I need to get the object key for a material document, which has to be passed to NAST table. If 4900004026 is the material doc. then its object key is conerted as
490000402620050001. Is there any FM for conversion ?

Am not sure, whether Function Module is existing or not.
But, you can concatenate these fields to a String variable or split for the values based on Field Length to separate variables and you can proceed with your process.

SAVE_TEXT to implement long text for Material, BOM, documents etc...

Hello,
we are working on a process to download longtexts from one system and to upload into another system to add missing long text there for different objects.
We are using SAVE_TEXT and it is working fine for documents in DRAW/DRAT.
Here we got what we expected. Long texts are uploaded and can be edited in the
transaction CV02N.
But then we started with material and with BOMs (bill of material).
Result of upload:
STXH is filled with entries but in MM02 and CS02 we cannot see the added long texts.
Seems that the connection between material and bom and their texts is missing.
For BOM we are not totally wrong. If there is a longtext in the BOM we can add longtext (we READ_TEXT the existing longtext and add our text. Then we do a update) and can see the added longtext in CSxx transactions.
But if there is only a short text, our insert via SAVE_TEXT is not working.
Is there something we are doing wrong or don´t we understand something?
Any help is appreciated.

oh, this answer was bringing light into my confusion.
My problem is that there will be some import files with any long text for any object in R/3 like
material with x textids , bom, equipment etc...
Is there any chance to find out easily which text object combination with textid belongs to a specific long text. The TTXID table is only a listing w/o any explanantion???????

My other problem now is with Material long text import.

Creating Dependency for Material BOM

hi,
i have created a material bom using BAPI_MATERIAL_BOM_GROUP_CREATE. this bom has three line items in which the 3rd line item has a dependency for it. the dependency value is V29.
please let me know how to add a dependency to a material bom item, while creating a material bom using BAPI_MATERIAL_BOM_GROUP_CREATE?
is there any other function module to maintain the dependency after the material bom is created?
i have tried CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN, CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN and CSAP_MAT_BOM_CLOSE. but i couldn't succeed.
can anyone please let me know how to use these FM's for my case?

BAPI_MATERIAL_BOM_GROUP_CREATE cannot be used to create object dependency.
once the bom is created using the above function module, use...
CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN, CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN and CSAP_MAT_BOM_CLOSE
...to create OD individually for each line item.

I'm using ALE to distribute Materials, Material-BOMs and Modifications. The user select the BOM and start the distribution.
What is the right procedure to distribute Materials, BOMs and Modifications (with the entire BOM-Modifications History).

- for Modifications : Transaction CC92
- for BOMs : MASTER_IDOC_CREATE_BOMMAT

A Power List can have a number of queries assigned to a single APPLID (application ID). Each of these queries are displayed in a separate tab but grouped using a single APPLID.
For creating Tabs in POWL , you have to create different Powl Type and assign it to a single Application ID.
Transaction FPB_MAINTAIN_HIER - Creates an APPLID
Transaction POWL_TYPE - Creates a POWL type and assigns feeder class for populating data in the query list
Transaction POWL_TYPER - Used to assign a POWL type to an APPLID
Transaction POWL_QUERY - To change the admin display layout for the query and other query related settings like selection criteria etc
