Plotter says 36" paper is only 35.97" and won't print 36x24 prints in landscape.

I have an HP T1100ps plotter. Loaded with 36" roll of paper. I continually have to "force" the print on the ARCH C paper becasue the plotter thinks the paper is 35.97" instead of 36". Sometimes it will print the 36x24 in the portrait fashion and thus forcing me to cut and wast 12x36 pieces. It wouldn't matter other than I have 800 prints, do the math.

My 5440 deskjet continually feeds in sheets of paper, one at a time and won't print

I have had a 5440 deskjet print which has worked well for years.This week it suddenly stopped working. When I go to print, it sucks a piece of paper in more than halfway and then says "paper jam or misfeed". If I hit the arrow key, the paper comes out with no issue, and then it sucks the next sheet in to the same point and errors again. The interesting thing is that it doesn't even try to print things at the top of the page (or anywhere).

I have an Airport Extreme, it's only flashing amber and won't go solid green. I use my ipad 2 to try and setup the Airport and I keep getting "an unexpected error occured, try again."

I have an Airport Extreme, the light is only flashing amber and won't go solid green. I use my ipad 2 to try and setup the Airport and I keep getting "an unexpected error occured, try again." I've tried my iphone 4 with the same result. I've tried the utilty on my pc and same result. The airport is producing a great wireless signal and working to all devices. I really just want to get in and set the password.

Here's what I do to reset an AirPort base station: I unplug it, press in the reset button, then, while continuing to hold in the reset button, I plug it in. I have a Time Capsule that I couldn't configure at one point. To recover from that I had to unplug it for many hours. You might try unplugging your unit overnight.

Hp photosmart C7280 says "stopped" in print queue and won't print!

I just bought an hp photosmart C7280 today. It was a pretty simple setup with the actual printer and network and all. i download the updated driver from the hp website and all seemed kosher there too. now i click "print" and on the print queue page it says "stopped" and won't print!
ahhh please help? is this a good printer with macs anyways? it seemed kinda loud during the setup...

I too have gone through most of the problems described here but have finally been able to get the c7280 working properly, yet I'm still not very happy with the solution.
For connectivity reasons, I wanted to connect the aio to my network via ethernet cable directly to my router. While my computers will access the network wirelessly, I wanted the printer to have a solid connection. Unfortunately, I was never (and still can't) get it to work properly using this connection. What finally did work was using the wireless connection in the printer to connect to the network.
Why this would work wirelessly and not while directly connected is something no one has been able to explain. I still have the printer right next to my wireless router to interference doesn't seem to be a problem and it seems fast enough, but the fact that I can't get it working properly with a "less technically challenged" method, really bothers me. What if I didn't have a wireless network? While wireless is great, if there was an easy solution to have all my desktops connected via ethernet, I'd prefer it (easy being not having a bunch a cables around and perhaps a pre-wired network in my home!)
Anyway, I hope everyone who has this machine gets the problem worked out. Unfortunately, knowing what I know now, I don't think I would buy this one again unless the software was rock solid. Physically the unit works well, but is a little loud I admit and went through my black cartridge pretty fast even though I used in saving settings such as fast draft, etc.
Just as a side note, the HP support guy in Canada was fairly annoying. When we still couldn't get it working properly via ethernet, he insisted it must be a problem with Apple or a conflict with a program I have installed, etc,etc. and told me that every one of his customers that has Leopard also has this unit working 100% properly. I politely told him he needs to add me as his first failure!
OK, enough rant. Try connecting wirelessly and see if that works. I would uninstall the current printers as suggested, but also clear out the printer cache. Do this by right clicking in the add a printer box area and choose reset printing system. If all else fails and you upgraded to Leopard from Tiger, then......gulp...... uninstall Leopard and revert back to Tiger. Under Tiger, both my macs worked perfectly connected via ethernet printer connection. Good luck.

IPhone plays only one playlist and won't others

Hi guys,
can anyone help me; I have my iPhone for so long time, always updated with latest version of software, but recently after latest update 3.1.3. iPod plays only one playlist and won't play any other. Also can't enter any other artist file or videos. When I try to, Ipod closes! The rest of phone works fine.
Could it be problem with latest update? How can I reset latest update?

The latest update works fine for most people, but your's might not have been applied correctly for some reason.
Try the standard troubleshooting steps in order:
Restart your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset your phone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Printer has paper, but computer says it is out of paper and won't print from web

I am having trouble getting the computer to recognize that the printer has paper. The printer will print copies that I put in it, but when I want to print from the web, it won't let me do it; it just tells me that the printer is out of paper. I printed a number of pages from the web yesterday with no problem at all. I have an HP Deskjet F2430.

I was trying to print off some material I had looked up on the web. When I saw what I was trying to print was going to be 40 pages, I did not want to continue printing it, and I did not know how to stop the printing, so I just pulled out my paper from the loader thing. I have since put paper back in the loader, but now my printer will not print anything, and says I am out of paper. I have tried and tried to fix this problem, and I really need to be able to print stuff, so I am pretty frustrated with this. I am a senior citizen and will admit that I am not all that astute with tech stuff. I would certainly appreciate some guidance with my problem. Thank you very much.

HP Photosmart 7515 says it is connected to wireless network but won't print from anywhere.

My HP photosmart 7515 used to work on my network. I could print from iphones and my mac mini. Now it says its connected, it has the IP address 10.0.1.3 and everything on the HP network configuration page says it is functioning normally, but the printer can't be reached by any device and I can't open it in my browser when I type the IP address into it. I've tried powering it down and unplugging it but at this point I am at a loss. The only thing I can think of is that I ran a Mackeeper fast cleanup of extraneous files recently and perhaps something was removed that needed to stay. I don't know. I tried installing the HP utility for Mavericks (my current operating system on the Mini) but that can't find the printer. I tried typing in the IP address manually but that didn't work either.
When I try to connect to it through eprint it says that it is connected but says there is a problem with the printer. What's the problem? It says it is unspecified and to see printer front panel for information on resolving the issue. Where on the front panel? I have no idea.
Happy to start from the beginning but this is really becoming a pain. Why doesn't it work?

FIrst of all, get rid of Mackeeper, it will cause more problems that it will solve. To uninstall it, open it and have it uninstall itself, then restart your Mac.
Have you restarted your router? What router are you using?

Officejet 6700 Premium says color cartridge is depleted and won't print at all

My printer is only 5-6 months old, and refuses to print because it says the Yellow cartridge is depleted. I know it has not dried up and that it is still printing fine because I signed up for an app that prints out recipes every weekday (in color) and the page printed just this morning looked perfectly fine - the yellow showed up totally normal. The estimated ink level for the yellow cartridge does say that it is depleted, but how can that be when I have proof (from this morning's printout) that I still have yellow ink? And, according to the manual, the printer will still print if one of the color cartridges is depleted, as long as the black is not depleted. The black is only half-used, so why is the manual giving false information and my printer still refuses to print anything? Very frustrated....

Hey BoydJones, I see you are having an issue with your Officejet 6700 Premium and have a few questions. There are 2 major types of ink systems for inkjet model printers: IPH (integrated printhead) and IIC (individual ink cartridges). Many older model printers used the IPH style cartridge system: Tri-Color and Black. Most newer printers use the IIC system, but not all. There was a reason for the paradigm shift in the ink systems. The tri-color cartridge contained all 3 colors used in color printing: Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow. If any one of the 3 ran out, then you had to replace the cartridge no matter how much of the other 2 remain in the cartridge. In the IIC system one can change only the individual color that is out. As to the reason your color is draining from what appears to be little color usage: The printer uses ink in many ways. Ink is used when cleaning the printhead to ensure proper performance in print jobs, a small amount of color ink is placed below black ink to ensure a full rich black color and a long lasting printout, and ink is used to perform other preventative maintenance in the printer. For more information on how ink is used in HP printers please click here. The reason one has to change the cartridge in the IIC style ink system is to prevent damage to the printhead of the unit by ink drying in the ports of the printhead. The printhead in the 6700 premium is a stationary/permanent printhead and any damage of this nature could prevent the unit from printing at all. In the 2 cartridge, IPH, system the printhead is contained with the cartridge and replaced with each cartridge change. Thus, if one runs out of color and waits to replace the cartridge there will not be an issue of dried ink in the ports as the printhead is changed with the cartridge. Factory installed iPhoto says it's on a "locked disc" and won't allow acces

I have created four accounts on my Mac Book Pro 15". I have given all four administrator status.
iPhoto works great on the first account/the owner account. But on all the other accounts, it says it is "on a locked disc" and there is "no access" to any of the other 3 accounts on my laptop.
I have repaired all permissions and still "no access" persists.
Any suggestions? I have no parental controls in place that I know of. I am 64 and alone, no one on this laptop but me. So what can I tweak and where, and how. Speak as tho to a five year old because the whole Mac language/word and initial definitions are all new to me within the past 2 months. I am learning a whole new language, as well as a whole new operating system.

Except that I have already done that and more, and still only the first account on this laptop is able to gain any access at all to iPhoto.
So now, I am opening each of the folders contained in the application and "getting info" on each of them in turn, and changing permissions for all (except the infamous 'other' who we know is "root". I'm leaving that as it is.).
And I am also trying shifting the "owner" in each folder from the first user's name to "system".
When I log back in under the second user name we'll see if that has made the desired difference!

I am trying to print and only blank pages and codes are printing?

My family have recently got a FujiXerox DocumentCentre C240 and I am trying to print to it. I have downloaded the printer software and added the printer through the IP address with selecting the right printer software. The printer says it is installed corrected and when I go to print it starts printing pages with a codes of what I'm trying to print at the top as well as lots of blank pages after.
What can I do to make this work and print what I want it to print?

Canon Pixma 880 says it needs paper but it doesn't. Won't print. Any ideas

I tried reloading the paper in the tray and tried using the other trays. No luck. Any ideas?

On the screen of your printer, it should tell you exactly where to load to the paper (Load paper in the cassette; for example). Once you determine where the printer is trying to pull paper, check to ensure that the paper is loaded properly. Try a single sheet at first, then add about 10 sheets and try again.
