Plotting 2 Columns of Data Against Each Other, Not With Time

I have several data columns, one with current, one with voltage, one with time. I am trying to make and IV curve, plotting the current and voltage against each other, preferably with the voltage as the Y axis and current as the X axis. However, every time
I try to select the two columns and scatterplot them, excel automatically makes it either a stacked graph of current with time and voltage with time, or just gives me voltage with time. How do I get excel to simply graph the two columns that I select?

Try the following:
If you have a chart with 2 series V and I both plotted on the Y axis, against 1, 2, 3, ...:
Select the chart.
On the Design tab of the ribbon, click Select Data.
Select one of the two series (it doesn't matter which).
Click Edit.
Select the text displayed in the 'Series Y values' box, and copy it (Ctrl+C).
Click Cancel.
With the same series still selected, click Remove.
Select the remaining series, then click Edit.
Click in the 'Series X values' box, then paste (Ctrl+V).
Click OK, then OK again.
If you have a chart with only one series (either V or I) plotted against 1, 2, 3, ...:
Select the chart.
On the Design tab of the ribbon, click Select Data.
Select the series.
Click Edit.
If there is anything in the 'Series X values' box, clear it.
With this box still selected, use the mouse to select the data range of cells for the other quantity you want to plot.
Click OK, then OK again.

  • How do I get the numbers ipad app to plot a graph of dates against values, where the most recent date is on the right of the graph, but the most recent date is at the top rather than bottom of the rows in the table?

    How do I get the numbers ipad app to plot a graph of dates against values, where the most recent date is on the right of the graph, but the most recent date is at the top rather than bottom of the rows in the table?
    Also how can it be a line graph without plotting a circle at each value?
    Thanks this is very frustrating

    Make a copy of the table and produce your Line chart or Bar chart from the copy. Sort the copy into the order you want to see in your chart.
    Alternately you could use a Scatter Chart...

    All purchases (and their updates) are forever tied to the ID used when they were bought.  You cannot erase an ID, you simply stop using it.    You will have to allow your son an exclusive account if he wants to use your computer.   Can you log in under your ID now ... or do you have to use his?    If the latter is the case, he has clearly changed your ID to one that is his.

  • 2 AIR applications directly communicating with each other in real time

    Building a installation that requires 2 different kiosks to communicate with each other. I'd like to use Adobe AIR to create the individual applications.
    My question is
    Is it possible for 2 separate AIR applications to DIRECTLY communicate with each other in real time, without any server to act as mediator?
    Ideally the only data that would be transferred would be json based.

    Not sure whether this helps; http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/flex/articles/creating_socket_server.html

    How can i design square signal which having a positive and negative values equal to each other and separated from each other by controlled time or distance, As it is shown in the figure below. and enter this signal in a daq.
    Solved!

    By the time you spend for the nice diadram you might have done the vi
    Your DAQ like to have a waveform (array of values and dt ak 1/samplerate)
    If you set the samplerate you know the array length , create a array of zeros, and set the values of both amplitudes ...
    Since I don't want to wire others homework here are some pictures
    And there are some drawbacks is room for improvement in my solution, just think of rounding errors ... and what might happen if the arrays get bigger ....

  • Image spacing - will not butt up against each other

    In the site i am creating, i need the shadows to butt up against the other images. I works fine on the left side, where there is only one image. But on the right, where there is 4 horizontal images for the vertical to butt up against, it keep creating this while line or space. I have tried using a table, using a grid , combining the two, i have made sure nothing has borders or spacing and I am running out of patience! Please help! Please note that it work if you are viewing in Safari, the problem is with Internet Explorer, which is the clients primary.

    Hello, I looked at your page and experimented some with it. There are several things you need to do to get it work better with IE. These are my thoughts a what I had to do to get it to work.
    The page really should have a doc type so it will have some standards and not put the browser in quirks mode.
    You'll need style sheets for differnent browsers and coding in the head so that browsers can use the relative style sheet. Search for browser specific style sheets. MS has some html and css info at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa155110.aspx
    Probably should put all your styles into external style sheets.
    Grids create problems, so l would not use the grids.
    Make both shadows the same size dimensionally
    All numbers have to add up with some adjustments just for IE, therefore the reason for separate style sheets.
    It will also work as an all table layout with some attention to detail. You can see a screenshot of a table layout at
    http://goodnightartanddesign.com/moog_ie7_table.html
    This file will be removed in a few days and is for an example only.
    If you need details, on the table layout due to the extent of changes needed, please contact me offlist using my contact form on http://goodnightartanddesign.com/contactus.html

  • Two Photos in Book above each other, not next to

    Hi there,
    the "Layout" feature allows only to present two photos on a page next to each other, but not one above the other (if they are more "panorama"-kind-of-photos).
    Is there any possibiliy to change that?
    Thanks for any hints!

    All that's offered is what's in the layout menu.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Lion: Finder: Column View: Date Last Opened is not show correctly

    Hi Folks,
    I have upgrade my macs from 10.6.8 to 10.7.
    I am using the column view in the finder and I noticed that the
    Date Last Opened is not show correctly in the preview column.
    If I use the the list view and show the column Date Last Opened
    all dates are correct. Using the column view, the Date Last Opened
    allways matches the Date Last Modified.
    The attached screenshot shows an example with the same
    file at in both views mentiond above.
    I have noticed this problem with internal and external drives
    using the filesystem Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
    Is there way known to fix this behavior. In Snow Leopard it worked fine.
    Thank you for your support.

    Same here, however I found a strange work around.
    Go to your applications folder, for instance. Click the gear icon, go to Arrange By, then select Date Last Opened. It will correctly show the last opened time and arrange them accordingly. Switch back to arrange by name and the last opened date reverts back.
    It's not a bug, it's a feature!

  • Isolating guest VMs from each other (not just the host)

    Hello Everyone,
    I've been playing around with visualization for a long time, but largely for testing and educational purposes.
    For the first time I'm thinking of actually running some production systems in virtual machines instead of on physical hardware which which raises some new concerns for me that weren't really relevant previously, namely, security.  In particular, I've been thinking about how to isolate the guest VM processes from each other.
    It's decades-old best practice to isolate different server services to different machines to help prevent, say, security problems with your web server also comprising your mysql server.  When you start virtualizing your infrastructure, you lose this benefit to a degree, if someone manages to compromise one of your VM servers and manages to exploit a vulnerability in your hypervisor to gain access to the host, it's no big leap to assume that they may be able to get access to your other virtual machines running on that host.
    It seems to me, that if you want to improve your resilience to this kind-of exploit that you want to increase the isolation of your VM processes from each other.  You could, say, run them as different users.  If you're careful about permissions, then you gain back some of the security of running your servers on seperate physical hardware.  An attacker could still exploit a local privilege escalation bug, but it at least provides another line of defense.
    This sort of thing seems to be possible with qemu virtual machines, though it does require some work to get anything besides user mode networking working.
    On the other hand, this sort of thing seems to be largely impossible with libvirt.  It's possible to run as qemu vms as different users using 'qemu://session' but the documentation seems to suggest that this limits you to using the qemu user mode networking, which isn't practical for running publicly accessible servers.  Since, as far as I can tell, all of the visualization management products around are based off of libvirt, this surprises me.  It seems to me that someone would have wanted to try and do something like this before, but nobody has (as far as I can tell).
    Indeed, there seems to be very little documentation out there about using qemu with tun/tap networking when running as non-root user.  There is some documentation out there about using VDE (mostly via the deprecated vdeq wrapper), but alot of qemu write-ups skip over it.  There's enough out there to suggest it's possible, it just doesn't seem to be written up anywhere (yet, maybe I'll write it up myself someday).
    So, this makes me wonder, 'why not?'.  Are there other things people are doing to isolate guest VMs from each other?
    What are people running production services in VMs doing?

    I suppose this is also something to think about, but I don't think I'd be that worried about it for my use-case.  The majority of systems I plan to run could run completely headless and the physical security for the host computers should be pretty good.  I'm more concerned remote code exploits in one particular VM allowing an attacker to execute on the host or in other guest VMs.

  • How to display different windows beside each other not on top of each other at bottom task bar

    When I open a new Firefox window, it stacks it on top of all the others in the task bar at the bottom. I would like them to be BESIDE each other. It used to do that. Now I have to hover over the ONLY Firefox item on the bottom task bar and read the list to find the one I want to go to. This is a waste of time and tedious.
    How can I change this?

    I think this is governed by your general Taskbar setting. Please see the attached screen shot. To get that dialog, right-click a blank area of the Taskbar and choose Properties.

  • Our iPhone 4 handled Facetime until two weeks ago.  Now it trys to connect and then disconnects.  My wife and I both have iPhone 4 and we cannot  facetime with each other or with others

    Two weeks ago both my wifes iPhone 4 and my iPhone 4 facetime stopped working.  Others people with iPads have tried to connect with us using facetime and it all stopped.  It trys to connect but then immediately disconnects.  No changes to our internal wi-fi.  I have checked the facetime settings and even reset my iPhone with no luck.  My wife and I can not facetime  when we are in the same room.  All this worked for years before these last two weeks.

  • Plotting boolean digital signals over postion (angle degrees) not over time

    Hello all,
    I would like to plot two boolean signals over position (angle degrees) and not over time. Any pointers on how to do this? The two digital signals are coming from a VI on my FPGA code (running cRIO - 9014), and the location in degrees is also generated by the same VI on my FPGA code.
    I tried to use "Boolean Array to Digital.vi" and a "Digital Waveform Graph", but it will only plot my 2 digital signals over time and I need to plot it over position. I took that vi from example "Digital Waveform DT Graph Demo".
    Another issue with plotting it against time is the sampling rate. I'm plotting cam and crank signals over engine position (crank angle degrees), how do I plot these signals in position intervals of 720 degrees. Could I tweak the sampling somehow that I would be able to see stills of these intervals? The position date is continously running from 0 to 720, when it reaches 720 it starts again in 0.
    Thanks!

    You'd have to use an XY graph so you can define your own x-axis, in your case it would be degrees.

  • Backing Up 2nd Data HD To Another HD with Time Machine

    Hi, changed my start up disc to a SSD, and moved all data to another HD. I want to back that data drive up to another drive. I don't see how I can do it with Time Machine.
    Can Time  Machine back up a data only HDD to another HDD, neither have an O/S on it, or should I use Carbon Copy Cloner?
    And is Time Machine only for backing up volumes with an O/S on it?
    Thanks to anyone that can help!
    Chris

    All volumes on internal drives will be backed up, provided they're in Mac OS format. Volumes on an external drive will be backed up if you remove them from the excluded list in the Time Machine preference pane.

  • Trying to get columns to sit beside each other

    New to dreamweaver CS5. Not getting alot of things but plugging away.
    I have 3 div tags that are in a column. Want to put them in a row with equal widths. Here is what I have so far....can anybody help in a way I can understand?
    Thanks
    #container {
              width: 968px;
              background: #FFF;
              margin: 0 auto;
              padding-left: 10px;
              padding-right: 10px;
              overflow: hidden;
    #main_image {
              background-image: url(../images/randyspichorz.jpg);
              background-repeat: no-repeat;
              position: relative;
              height: 376px;
              width: 968px;
              height: 1000px;
    #left_column, #center_column, #right_column {
        width: 316px;

    #container {
              width: 968px;
              background: #FFF;
              margin: 0 auto;
              padding-left: 10px;
              padding-right: 10px;
              overflow: hidden;
    #main_image {
              background-image: url(../images/randyspichorz.jpg);
              background-repeat: no-repeat;
              position: relative;
              height: 376px;
              width: 968px;
              height: 1000px;
    #left_column, #center_column, #right_column {
        width: 316px;
    #container + #main_image + #left_column + #center_column + #right_column = 5 div tags, not 3 as you have said.
    If you are wanting a 3 column layout, you should use the #container div as the surrounding "container" and within that you need to create 3 div tags. You can create a 3 column layout with each column with the same width using CSS Float technique.

  • How do Firefox 28 and Internet Explorer 11 features compare against each other?

    I need a head-to-head comparison of these two browsers. Firefox 26 and IE 9 would be acceptable as well, if the first two have not been out long enough to get a comparison history.

    It looks like you're running Windows Vista. Internet Explorer 9 is the last version of that browser that works under Vista.
    You can find out about Firefox's features on the Features page. If you want a browser comparison, look on third-party sites.
