  • Could u pls clear my doubts?

    Hai abapers
I m new to ABAP objects....pls clear my doubts.
1.what is an event? how is it useful in application development?
2.Is it mandatory to give the same name for both object reference variable and object?
    Advance thanks
    regards,
    Selva

    Hi Selvakumar,
1.what is an event? how is it useful in application development?
An u201Ceventu201D is the occurrence of a special condition during the execution of an ABAP program. This occurrence must be of sufficient importance for the ABAP program to take a special action.
Refer the below link for events.

2.Is it mandatory to give the same name for both object reference variable and object?
Yes. The reference variable oref must be declared as an object reference variable. Instance components of an object created using CREATE OBJECT can only be accessed using object reference variables.

  • Hi forum pls clarify the concept, about IDOC...pls

hi forum pls clarify the concept,
In a typical IDOC to XI scenario, when my XI receives an IDOC, how it makes out whether it is receiving the IDOC from the intended sender,
    does it sees the
    <SAP:SNDPOR>???</SAP:SNDPOR>
      <SAP:SNDPRN>????</SAP:SNDPRN>
      <SAP:SNDPRT>???</SAP:SNDPRT>
in  the inbound message and matches it with the business system name in the SLD, to confirm.....
if it is the case, then the name of the business system in the SLD cant be arbitrary, it should be the name that the sender SAP system attaches as the sender port/partner number, in the outbound IDOC. Coz, i think when an IDOC is sent from an SAP system, the System attaches the sender port and and partner number by defaullt, and that partner no./port may not be maintained.
    pls clarify

ahmad pls read the following, and pls help ...as i m quite inexperienced::
Let me put the case in this way…
(I m a beginner and just testing already developed configuration)
I have a IDOC to XI scenario, where an IDOC is being sent from a
SAP system  System ID SD1, client 330,
To my XI, with Syatem ID XD1, client 430,
Now in the sender in SDI330, I made port/partner number for XD1430 as port=SAPXD1, Partner no.=XD1CLNT430, and partner_type=LS,
Now when I sent this IDOC from SD1330 to XI, In the EDIDC I can see, details of both sender and receiver, but the sender details(port=SAPSD1, partner_no.=SD1CLNT330) appears, though they are not maintained(IS IT AUTOMATIC???).
Now when the IDOC reaches XI, how it makes out whether it is receiving the IDOC from the intended sender,
    does it sees the
    <SAP:SNDPOR>SAPSD1</SAP:SNDPOR>
    <SAP:SNDPRN>SD1CLNT330</SAP:SNDPRN>
    <SAP:SNDPRT>LS</SAP:SNDPRT>
in the inbound message and matches it with the business system name in the SLD, to confirm.....
if it is the case, then the name of the business system in the SLD cant be arbitrary, it should be the name that the sender SAP system attaches as the sender port/partner number, in the outbound IDOC. Coz, i think when an IDOC is sent from an SAP system, the System attaches the sender port and and partner number by defaullt, and that partner no./port may not be maintained.
    pls clarify.
Now if all above cases are true, I think that the XI system must have maintained a port/partner to connect to the sender SAP system (SD1CLNT330), to get the IDOC metadata. And can these port and partner nos be arbitrary named or should be named strictly as SD1CLNT330. And should I maintain this port for loading metadata in the IDX1.

    Are there any error messages?
Knowing what you see or are experiencing can help diagnose it.
In the meantime, a common fix, hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds and see if you can force it to rebood. If you see a silver apple, let go and let it reboot and see if that helps.

  • To clarify a doubt regarding HP students' offer.

    Revered Sir/Madam,
I've not bought this laptop as yet but I'm considering to buy it from sometime now. What I wanted to clarify is, whether or not the students' offers will be available if I buy it from other online sites like Flipkart/Amazon/Snapdeal. Doubtful of this because recently I called up a HP dealer and he was like I won't even get 1 year as ususal warranty leave alone extra students' offers if I don't buy from HP itself online or specifically any HP dealer/stores. Is this true? By the way, I'm a computer engineering student and on uploading my info & college Id card, have got the students' offer eligiblity. Please resolve my confusion. Thaning you in advance

    Hello Alok
A date can be inside or outside a range but not not less than a range.
In your case you should use a simple parameter:
    PARAMETERS:
      p_budat        TYPE d.
    START-OF-SELECTION.
      SELECT * FROM ....
        WHERE ( budat < p_budat ).

    Hi Experts,
Please advice me on the following.
What is the land scape of an implementation project. What is the Golden client server. Is it mandatory to maintain and if yes ,what data shall we put in golden client.
Is the process correct..to do initial configuration in Development server and move it to quality for testing  and after testing shall we move the config to  Production system on golive date.
generally what is the setup of different servers in an implementation project.
Dear experts Please through a light on this.
    Regards,

Im in doubt weather shall we do configs in dev or golden client.

  • No Connection to IB -- R3 Exchange profile  - pls clarify the following ?

    Hi  friends ,
My scenario is Proxy to file .
While i am executing SPROXY tcode from R3Dev Syetsm . It is   showing as <b>No Connection to Integration Builder</b>
    https://websmp102.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001697502004E.PDF
    No connection to Integration Builder
While i was follwing this thread they mentined as
u have to check whether ur r/3 system's(WAS 620 or above)
excahnge profile has entries for integration builder.
pls check the Example configuration for accessing
interfaces in the Integration Repository (exchange profile):
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/555f3c482a7331e10000000a114084/content.htm
If the Parameters are not there u need to add in the respective section's as provided in the link.
    exchange profile URL is
    <b>
    http://r3servername:5<instance>00/exchangeProfile</b>
    Sudhir
P.S:- don't check XI's exchange profile as it will anyways be there.
Basically to fetch the details of interfaces into SPROXY..connection to XI is required from the R/3's exchange profile
    My question is
    1. We are having WebAS 7.0 . XI7.0 SP10 . R3 system is  ECC6.0
<b> a. we have ONLY ABAP Instance no java instance running in this . So, how can we access the exchange profile for R3system ?</b>
    Regards.,
    V.Rangarajan

    Hi Ranga,
ECC will use exchange profile in XI, so you don't need additonal java instance for ECC, so when you call the SPROXY, actually it call to XI.
Please make sure the connection from ECC to XI its work.
and your ECC can ping to the XI computer (using domain name)
    This solve my problem.
    Regards,
    Fendi Suyanto

  • BI Content - Pls clarify

    Hi all,
I am new to BI 7.0 Already gone through various sap help docs and other docs in detail but below are very confusing for me to understand. Please help me understand as am confused after reading all.
In my laptop, I have both ECC and DEV installed. I understand that in projects, we are only allowed to access BW. Correct me if am wrong.
    My doubt:-
We have various objects in BI Content. Now when am required to install specific cube or DSO or info object, I simply go to specific object and click "Transfer selections". During this, am asked for remote activation. Does this mean i am connecting to ECC and then getting them installed in BW? If so, why is it that these are already provided in BW? I am also able to login to ECC and do the same there as well. Whats the difference? I know this is v.basic and SAP provided standard business content in BW but am confused. Does grouping them as needed and installing them means it connects to ECC and gets the flow there on the right hand side or is it already provided in BW?
Also, what's with this Match or Copy there? I studied that it helps to check the D and A versions. But where? in ECC or BW?
Also what happens if I check it or uncheck it? Studied sap help but in vain.
Once installed, I always don't see the installed ones in the Info provided. Many of them sit in unassigned nodes?
Please be kind and patient to explain me?

               array[500] = 1;
            catch(Exception e)
               Exception e2=new Exception("Two",e);
               Exception e3=new Exception("Three",e2);
               traverseExceptionChain(e3);
    }O/P:
    java.lang.Exception: Three
    java.lang.Exception: Two
    java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 500
Can any body explain program especially catch block???

Exception e3 has as cause e2 which has aa cause e, where having a cause means 'this exception is caused by another exception'.
Usually exceptions as wrapped like this to add extra information, while retaining the original exception information.

  • Can anyone clarify my doubt in a simple JSP Program ?

when we write a simple jsp program such as helloworld.jsp does a
class file or servlet be created when we run the jsp program using a
web browser and Tomcat ? if so please tell the folder(path) in tomcat
where this class file will be located or stored .Thankq

JSPs will (usually) be compiled into class files representing Servlets, yes. But that's something that happens internally inside the application server and shouldn't concern you.
Why would you need to know where it resides? It seems like a code smell if you need that information.
If you're just curious, then look into the work directory of your tomcat.
