Pls help my bb 9380 is showing initialization failed ,when looking for network

pls i use a bb 9380 curve 5,just recently my fone trips off and on,but still works perfectly fine, but yesterday it refuses to
to load my sim,i just shows initilization failed with an S0S service,i was told by the technicians here, that its only RIM that can rectify it for me,pls help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Well, sadly, those technicians may have misdirected you. This site is a user-to-user community of volunteers...it is not a channel for any formal communications with, support from, nor escalation to RIM. RIM provides zero front-line support to any end-users...such is actually contractually prohibited.
The technicians, if they are authorized BB support folks, have channels for escalating things to RIM that need to be so. I recommend you go back to them and have them do so.
Good luck!

  • Finder crashes when "looking for networks" - workaround that helps

I've read through most of the messages about finder crashes, but what's going on in my case I haven't seen. As I have a work around, I thought I should post.
If for whatever reason the wireless connection pauses or gets interrupted (for example, by closing the lid), the finder hangs in the process of "looking for networks."  Most of the time I can still pull up the dock -- the spinning beach ball only clicks in if I mouse over the top menu bar. Sometimes (but not always) I can quit open applications through the dock before I have to do a hard reset.
My workaround is this: I turn wi-fi off before I close the lid. When I open the lid, I wait a short time -- 30 seconds, about -- and turn the wireless back on, and this way I can avoid the finder crashing.  If the wi-fi pauses for some other external reason, when "looking for networks" starts up, the finder will hang again.
It's way past  time that Apple coughs up a permanent fix, but this might help somebody who's having the same problem.  And maybe somebody has a better workaround, in which case, I'd love to hear about it.

    1. Going into a folder on my external hard drive that contains the installer for divx for mac.
Divx has been a source of problems with both Tiger & Leopard. See for example Mac OS X 10.5: Finder may not fully "load". If you have installed it, it is probably at least part of your problem.
then i erased the whole thing, and used the Mac OS X 10.5 install DVD that came with my mom's iMac (still happens)
This is not recommended. The install disks that come with specific Mac models do not necessarily install the same things or do all the error checks that the retail Leopard installer disk does. (It is also a violation of the software license to install it on another Mac.) If you want a trouble-free, supported installation of Leopard, use only the retail installer or a disk specifically intended for your exact Mac model.

  • HT1338 My Mac keeps Looking for Networks? The ICON in menu when clicked shows the WI- FI (in gray) ON then goes to Looking for Network again. Shutting down the connection.

My MAC keeps looking for networks? The ICON in menu bar when clicked shows the WI-FI (in grey) it keeps shuting off and disconnecting. Any Ideas???

Test after taking each of the following steps. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions.
    2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly."
    3. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    4. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.
    5. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.
    6. In some cases, the problem has been resolved by repairing permissions on the startup volume.
    7. Reinstall OS X.

  • Is there a command to "Show in Finder" when looking an Adobe Acrobat file?

Is there a command to "Show in Finder" when looking an Adobe Acrobat file?
I have a lot of file with almost exactly the same names, and it gets very tedious to have to open Finder and search for it.

Ah yes, your aim must be exact! Incidently, as long as we're there in the title bar, there is another little secret up there: the wee little "proxy" icon in front of the name. You can actually do things with it. For instance, you can click and hold (pause for a half of second until it turns gray), now drag it to the Desktop, and you'll get an alias to the file. If you press the Option key while you drag you'll get a new copy of the file. Wait, there's more! Say you have a Safari window open, to this page perhaps, and you want to save the Safari page to the same folder as the file you have open in Preview. Bring up the Safari save dialog sheet, grab the proxy icon on the open file, drag 'n drop it into the Safari Save navigation section, and presto, the folder the file is in will be the one displayed in the Safari save pane. You can do this with the proxy icons anywhere, including those in a Finder window. So if you have a folder open, you can drag its proxy icon into the save or open navigation section of a program, and there you are. Saves you time navigating to something you already have open in one place (the Finder) from your program. I use it all the time.

I'm interested in getting the local help to work while this is offline, I saw the following in an article, did you do this and it still does not work for you?
"However the help won’t show up in

    Version to15 to
    make it work."

  • Need urgent help to "error 5". Found a solution, but looking for a savior.

    Hey guys.
I'm really a fish out of water here. But I'm in great need of some help. But I really don't know if this is he place to get it (maybe you can point me in the right direction?).
    Case:
I have a very important InDesign-file (CS5) that's been toasted. I'm getting the notorious (and rare) "error 5"-message. The file can't open no matter what I do. I've figured out that this error could be because I've been copy pasting big images into the ID-document instead of using Place (silly me). I didn't make a backup (stupid me).
I've heard that Markzware have made an extension program for Quark Express 8 (which i have just downloaded in trial) called ID2Q that makes Quark open ID-files. Even files that have the error 5. My problem is now this: There's no trial version availible of ID2Q and since I'm a student with empty pockets I can't afford to by the software for the aprox. 200$.
Therefor I'm looking for someone that might have the software lying around and would be willing to get my file (I've put it up on a ftp-server) change it into a quark-file and return to me. I should then be able to open it in ID and save it again as .indd - at least that's what i read around the web is my ONLY solution.
Looong post, I know. Sorry. Do ANY of you where to get this kind of help?
    Thanx.
    Roald from Barcelona

Anyone offering that would be in violation of the EULA.
Your best bet is contact Markzware to see what they can arrange for you.

Was something remotely working on or aliased to that erased stuff?
The error code 1712 is an "Apple event timed out"

So it would seem to me that some FCP poject(s) are looking for clips that no longer exist.
    Might try these solutions...

  • Reader x 10.1.3 doesn't show print dialog when printing, for some users on Terminal Server

We are running Windows Server 2003 with Terminal Services for approximately 10 remote users.
A few days ago, some users started to complain about not being able to print pdf documents to their printer. I discovered that the print dialog box doesn't open, so they can't even select another printer.
If reader is set to open in browser, it just crashes the browser, if it set to open in Reader itself, it does nothing, no dialog,
I've tried removing the printer and reinstalling. Since it works from the console without issues, I thought it may be permissions related, so I added users to administrators group, with no success.
They can print from Outlook, Word, etc....just not pdfs.
    Can anyone help?

Can you please see if launching the Preferences window from within Adobe Reader standalone application works?

  • Any way to get imessages to show as texts when looking at my bill?  (and yes I know how to turn off imessages)

I'd like imessages to show as texts on bill.

As mentioned...the only way to do it would be to turn off iMessage. Otherwise, it isn't a SMS text that VZW can charge you for (or deduct from your texting plan) so it will not show on your bill. If you're wanting to do this in order to monitor someone else's iMessage usage I don't think there is a way to do so...iMessage isn't an option in the restrictions menu so I don't think you could even get your hands on the other device and put the restriction on it if you wanted to shut off the iMessage capability so they could only send text messages (if they had the code to change restrictions then that wouldn't work anyway because they could go back and change it). No idea if there is or ever will be a iMessage tracking app but that may be your only hope...

  • ISP status shows failed when I run network diagnostic.

Hello and greetings to all.  I am seeking accurate solution(s) to fixing this annoying problem.  While surfing the internet, web pages freezes and other internet usage software fails because of no internet activity.  The temporary fix is continuing on the diagnotstic screen or assist me screen.  It is becoming quite annoying to applying this method everytime.  The other annoying thing is that I am also using an Iphone 5 Ipad 3 and Mac air, these devices works absolutely fine.  So I did some research and found out it was just occuring with my back and the diagnosis is ISP failed.  I am running maverick and I do not have IP6v  nor bluetooth enabled, my router is the preferred network.  This issue only happens wirelessly and not through LAN hook up.  Any help will be grateful to ease my agitation with this issue.  For some reason I think it is the internet company router which is an Arris and the security is WPA. It is a German internet company, I dont speak deutsch, so a trip to the Apple store is pointless.  Maybe I should have moved to Spain, regardless I move back to the US this month but do not have the patience to wait upon my relocation to resolve this issue.  Thank you
    V/R

Your ISP is your Internet Service Provider, the company you use to connect to the Net. If this is only happening when you are connectiing to your internet router by WiFi signal and not happening when you use a network cable from your Mac to your router then it has nothing to do with your ISP and you connection to the NET as a whole.
It is a problem with your Mac connecting abd staying connected to your router when you use WiFi. This could be the WiFi card in your Mac, the energy saver setting in your Mac (it might be putting the Wifi card in your Mac to sleep or limiting power to it) or the antenna that is connect to the WiFi card in your Mac. How to properly diagnosis this problem is difficult but I would start with turning off alll power management features on the WiFi card so it never goes to sleep or has it's power limited.

  • I'm looking for network help

I'm trying to setup a network to use iTunes to play music from my iMac to two speaker units wired up
by ethernet cable.  The instructions that came with the Polk speakers don't say how to create the
network for this to work.  I know just enough to be dangerous when it comes to changing settings.
Everthing I have now is wired to the router.  Do I create a new network in "Preferences", if I do that
I need help with the correct settings.
    Thanks in advance

Do I create a new network in "Preferences"
No, that's going off in the wrong direction. Network client devices must be on the same network you're using, so don't create a separate one.
If your speakers AirPlay - enabled devices, they will appear in iTunes when clicking the AirPlay icon:

  • Mac App Store works fine for buying/installing new software, but times out when looking for updates. Help?

I just got a (lightly) used Mac Mini as a second computer (2010 model). Logged into Mac App Store with my Apple ID and tried to check for updates...received "An error has occurred - The request timed out" message. Was able to go to the main App Store page and download/install OS X Mountain Lion...then tried again and still got the time-out error. Any ideas of what is happening and how to get Software Update to work?

Apps already installed by the former owner of the Mini are associated with that persons Apple iD. You won't be able to update any of those apps using your Apple iD. Those apps will have to be purchased from your Apple ID only.
Apparently the previous owner had not upgraded to Mountain Lion as yet, or you would not have been able to download and install that OS X.

  • 802.1X options not showing up in Advanced preferences for Network

Any idea what's going on here and (if so) how I can fix this?
    Thanks!
    Mikal

    TSR53,
I don't have an answer for your problem...
First, your menu bar PC card icon is all wrong for your WiFi card as I mentioned earlier; it should say:
    Broadcom
    802.11b CardBus
    Eject
All third-party AirPort-compatible PC cards should say 'Broadcom'...this is the wifi chipset in the card; OSX also incorrectly reports 802.11b instead of 802.11g on all cards. I cannot disable all the AirPort software in my Wallstreet to see if I get the same results as do you.
Since you have probably installed all the Security Updates along with other updates, something may have been damaged. One method of troubleshooting a problem like this is to run the MacOS X Combo Update 10.3.9 again on your installed 10.3.9. This can often correct some issues that may arise during all of the updates yet is also a perfectly safe procedure.
Beyond this I don't know what to suggest except to start over with 10.3.0 + 10.3.9 Update + just the AirPort Updates (nothing else) and see if it works.
