Pls help: no connection message after recover

My Zen locked and when I rebooted I lost my songs. I used the recovery tool. The Zen Media Explorer and Window Media Player doesn't detect zen.
When I plug zen into usb port the computer detects zen by a zen icon appearing on the lower right hand corner(by the time). A zen creative portable device box pops?up asking what action I want. When I select an option such as organize media files using creative media explorer the zen media explorer box says device not connected.
-I tried using recovery tool
-I checked to see if I have service pack 2 and I do
-I tried different usb ports

Open device Manager while player is connected Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware. Look under the portable devices for the player. Right click On the player choose unistall. Then reboot computer (unplug player) after computer is back up reconnect the player using a usb port on the back of the computer.Stay away from the recovery tools all it does is download firmware & if the player is not seem by windows you cant do it anyway.     aditz, you should always have a bootable clone of your entire hard drive (Note: not a Time Machine backup).
    That way if anything bad happens when you try out a new application that's supposed to "clean your mac" but in fact makes a mess of it, you always have a fully functioning clone you can use to clone back to your internal hard drive and then carry on "as you were".
    I would take the advice just given by Sig and select "allow".. and then reorganise your settings in iTunes itself so that iTunes store is turned off.
    PS note to self: don't ever be tempted to try out "Clean my Mac".

    Hi everyone,
    I'm so frustrated. Every time I either duplicate a photo, edit in external editor, or actually after every single import from the digital camera (I use a card reader, but the camera is EOS 20D for completeness) iPhoto stops responding, freezes, I get the spinning ball. I mean, I went to Macs because I was fed up wasting so much time just getting things to work, and now this? :''-(
    I've tried repairing permissions, cron scripts, deleting the iPhoto prefs file and it still happens. BTW, for the technical ones around you, if I restart iPhoto after I have to force quit, the duplicated photo is there. Just like the import goes through. Just at the end it hangs itself. Also to my bewilderment, duplicating an already duplicated photo (by clicking on the duplicate) the iPhoto will not freeze exceptionally. Oh, and I also tried manual permissions (RW for me AND the group), plus I AM the admin and the only user account on this mac ever since it was new.
    Please help. I already upgraded from 5.0.3 to 5.0.4 and no change (luckily it didn't get worse, heh). My library is 5 Gigs of mostly 8megapixel RAWs, TIFFs, and JPEGs.

    for now, use Image Capture to import your images.
    Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
    Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
    When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
    Under the General button choose
    Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
    The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
    In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
    To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.
    iPhoto: How to Change the "Open Automatically" Preference
    If you find you can't change any of Image Captures preferences or can't access any drop down menus or they are greyed out, check to make sure Image Capture is loose in the Applications folder and not within a sub folder.
    You can also try to delete the iPhoto preference file called com.Apple.iPhoto.plist. Here is a screenshot of where it is.

    -I want you to check the permissions on your iPhoto Library folder and make sure they are Read/write for you. In the same window go all the way to the bottom and check the box.

    For good measure, you can open Disk Utility which is found in your Utilities folder and repair permissions.

  • Need help with error message after failed iSync: Leopard and Palm OS

    I recently upgraded to a new computer which came with Leopard installed. In my old computer, Tiger OS, all was well when syncing to my Palm device.
    I tried going from handheld to desktop with slow synch turned on in iSync and now I get this message re: failure--
    "iSync Conduit starting 9/6/08 8:21:12 AM
    Timeout waiting for Sync Engine, exiting 9/6/08 8:27:31 AM
    iSync Conduit synchronization failed
    “iSync Conduit” failed (error = #-2)"
    Any ideas--please help.

    I have an older Palm, the Zire. Once I got the most recent Palm software and chose, at least for now, to use iSync, I haven't noticed any problems.
    Since I haven't used the "T" family of Palms, I can only guess that the process is much the same as with the Zire. You can disable the MAc syncing, move your currently disabled conduits back into Palm syncing, reinstall what Palm lists as your most recent software (and make sure all of your calendar and contacts info is just as you want it), do a sync through the HotSync Manager (ignoring iCal). I'd do a restart just to clear the system. It appears there is a warning note on resetting the iSync history, so you might not want to do that but just manually clean up any inconsistencies in iCal before you try once again.
    [I actually wanted to just accept my Palm calendar so trashed my iCal calendar after some questionable syncs, but you can do an export to save the iCal calendar before you wipe it out.]
    But my impression is that to get pass the messages you initially wrote up, you'll have to ask the Palm discussions folks for help. They are very helpful.

  • A60: Blue Screen error message after recovering procedure

    i have an A60, and over the last 3 months i have ran the recovery disk 10-15 times, windows installs fine, then a few days later the computer either freezes and gives a blue screen of death when you try to turn it on, or it starts up and comes up with a message saying "windows explorer has encountered a problem" and then completely stops responding, or gives a similar message regarding something called Dr Watson Kernal Debugger and equally, stops responding, now. having tried formatting and scanning as well as getting on my knees and begging the computer to please please please work, i am out of ideas, maybe the hard drive is the problem? is it a common A60 fault?
    also in a completely unrelated issue, where can i get a new "c" key, mine keeps falling off for some reason.

    Usually the blue screen appears because of a serious software or hardware malfunction.
    In you case I suggest that there could be something wrong with the hardware. Of course there could be also something wrong with the HDD. But to be 100% sure you should contact the Toshiba service. He can make some diagnostic tests.
    You can also order the additional keyboard buttons from the Toshiba service partner who is responsible for your country.

    See this support document for error codes. Resolve iOS update and restore errors - Apple Support  The 39 does not appear, but there is a 37 and 40, so I would believe it is close to that.
    If you are having trouble updating, you need to check this support document for that. You may need to put the device into Recovery Mode.

    It could also be the security software on the Windows PC. Another question, is the device jailbroken?

    I needed to save/print valuable text messages from my Treo 700p.  Foolishly hadn't synced in a couple of years.  Unfortunately, I believe that I set the conduit to replace my current (2012) text messages with the old (2010) messages_database.pdb file from my back up folder.  I desperately need to get the 2012 messages back.  It appears that the data on my Treo as well as on my PC now only contain the 2010 information.
    Is there any way to get the probably over-written 2012 data back?

  • Help -Getting 404ErrorPage Message after loading second web site to .mac?

    I've had an iweb (family) website working fine on .mac for several months. Yesterday, I built a second website and published it. At that time, I was asked to sign up since I had been doing the trial which had expired. I signed up.
    Now, two things are happening. When I go to the family website, I'm getting a 404ErrorPage message. I can assess my second site OK. Also, I am not provide the option to publish to .mac for either site (it's grayed out). I know I am in active status with my .mac account. Any thoughts?

    Its really up to you which way you want to do it, remember to give them different names and make back ups.
    Having them both in one iWeb session is fine, although I personally dont trust myself not to delete something from the wrong one without realizing it!
    If you only update one site occassionally, then you might find that you want separate domain files, that way you would only see the one that you are working with. To have multiple domains the are different options.
    1. Create a second user on your Mac and run two seperate sessions of iWeb.
    2. Use Domains Juggler from Cyclosaurus, a search on the forum should find it for you.
    3. Swap out your domain files as and when you want to work on them, remember which is which!
    To BACK UP your current domain file you can use this script from Cyclosaurus.
    If you choose to use a second domain file, the easiest way to split out your sites, whichever route you take, is to make a copy of you domain.sites file. By the way this file lives here:
    User / Library / Application Support / iWeb / domain.sites (You dont normally see the .sites extension)
    You now have two copies, open one and delete the site that you dont want in this domain files, then save it.
    Swap it out for your copy domain file and once again delete the site you dont want.
    Good luck & dont forget to Back up your files before playing around with them!

    I am facing the same issue! I bought 5c few days back
    and everything was fine till I updated the software 7.0.4!
    Whenever am connected to wifi am unable to make a call and if someone tries
    Calling me they get the message that my number is not
    Reachable! When I go back to 3G the calls work perfectly!!
    Please help me out since I use wifi more than my network.
