Pls Help wanted in learning SAP NetWeaver Enterprise portals 6.0

I am learning SAP NetWeaver Enterprise portals 6.0 by self. I need some information on this like, How to learn in a sequence (like flow from the start to end), I am little confused that where to start and how to learn EP in an effective way. Please I am also urging; if any body having any material and example applications or online resources(links), please send me to my E-Mail ID that is [email protected], so that it is very help full for me. I am very thank full to you all. Please help me.

I am a java/j2ee developer wanting to move to SAP Netweaver Portals. What would be an appropriate certifaction for me? There is a huge list of certifications in Netweaver-Enterprise portals. Whats the differnce between developer and tech consultant certification?
Whats topics do i need to study for the certification?

I have 2.5 years of Experience in developing java/j2ee applications. I am interested in Learning SAP Netweaver. Can u please suggest me the carrer prospects in this field.
I am good at Java,J2SE, please also let me know which modules of Netweaver suits to me.
I dontnt have any knowledge in SAP i.e ABAP

On other hand, I'll say that I'm also mostly a NewGen girl (C#.NET, WCF/WWF/WPF, J2EE, JBoss, jBPM, ...), and from some point of view ABAP is refreshing.
From my up to now really short experience (a few days), programming SAP NetWeaver in ABAP is rather simple...
Besides, maybe a stronger argument for ABAP :
From what I can see using "/h" (debug mode), it looks like most SAP is in fact in ABAP, so if you're planning on working in SAP, isn't ABAP a better choice ? Or do SAP plan on abandonning ABAP for JAVA ?
Any opinions on these last thoughs?

Good... you have got this opportunity to trained on SAP Enterprise portal. This is a niche skill and very high demand in market because all SAP systems are integrated to SAP EP to get one portal for end users.
This is a good opportunity and you would get high salary when you have 2 to 3 years of experience.
If you meet most of the guys who are working in SAP EP they were from ABAP and cross trained in SAP EP.
So this is excellent opportunity for you to grow.

Usefulness of the SAP Netweaver Enterprise Search

I posted this question in the SAP Netweaver Enterprise Search forum and got no response, so I moved it to the ABAP General forum, where I got a little help, but not exactly what I'm looking for, so as a last attempt, I'm moving it here:
We are upgrading from 4.7 to ECC 6.0 and as part of the upgrade are considering implementing the Netweaver Search Engine. Most of the information I have found is from SAP and deals mainly with implementation. Im interested if you have implemented this and if so what benefits you have found and also any problems you have encountered.
There's a lot of tecnical information out there, but the question I need to answer is about how it helps (if at all) the business process.

I attended a session at TechEd about how Whirlpool implemented the Enterprise Search Appliance (I assume it is that you are talking about). From what I saw it looked quite good. They seemed to think that the biggest gain was the linking of things. E.g if you search for a customer and select it, you have links to see their sales record / credit checks etc.
But I'm afraid I haven't done any implementations myself.

Hi Murali,
There are different ways you can learn SAP PLM:
1) Easy but costly way is through attending cources run by different SAP Authorized Training Centers. By Training route u will get proper step by step guidance on different PLM functions, but it will have some impact on your pocket.
2) You can read SAP Help available online. But trust me without assistance its like learning greek.
3) There are different Presentations available on internet made by consultant for their customer. It would be great first step towards excellence.
Mentioned above are few ways by which you can learn SAP PLM, however the time & understanding level totally depend upon your will to get mastered into it.

SAP HANA is appliance of both software and hardware.It acts as a database and application server.
All the modelling part can be done on HANA and the views can be used for analytical purposes for reporting through BO.

Want to Learn SAP

I want to learn SAP Funcational (especially the SCM module that has MM and SD). I am a Software Professional with ERP background. What is the best way to learn it ? I do not want to go to the training centers which is expensive.i am looking for alternatives. how can i learn by myself. please provide me some insights that would help me to learn SAP.
