PLS PLS PLS PLS HELP ME, HAVE DONE THE FIVE R'S UPDATED TO ITUNES 7, IPOD SHOWS EVERYWHERE EXCEPT ITUNES. HAVE STATRED AND STOPPED SERVICE AND EVERYTHING. I CAN HEAR THE NOISE WHEN MY IPOD IS CONNECTED. WHAT DO I DO NOW THAT I HAVE RESTORED MY IPOD, COZ IT IS NOT IN MY SOURCE LIST.....

I am also having this problem. I have an iPod Nano. I can connect it to the computer, and view it in Windows. I can also see it in the device manager. I have tried it on multiple computers with the same result. I have another iPod (first generation) and it works fine on both computers. I've also done the following:
1. Reinstalled iTunes, including download the Microsoft Software removal tool.
2. Deleted the windows Temp files.
3. Uninstalled the new version of iTunes, and installed the old updater, and old itunes. Reinstalled the new iTunes when that did not work, and uninstalled the old software.
iTunes does detect the iPod if I manually put it into disk mode and connect it to the computer. I can also load music this way, but it's inconvenient.

Try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I have an iPod Classic 120 GB its about 3 or 4 years old (serial #8M836QEP2C5), has worked fine until I noticed it wasnt syncing in itunes (version 10.1). I'm not sure if it decided to do that before or after I updated iTunes.

Ipod shows in my computer but itunes does absoloutley nothing!!

This problem started like 3 days ago, I've only had my ipod for about 4 months and i cant do anything with it because of this problem
When i plug in my ipod, it shows the ipod drive in my computer and itunes opens up but the ipod doesnt show up in itunes, so i cant do anything with it >:(
its the 5th generation ipod and ive done all that 4 step stuff and done all these thing on the net that tell u what 2 do to get it to show and none of them have worked...

First tried putting your iPod into disk mode, following the steps here.
Then, with your iPod in disk mode, connect it to your computer.
Is it recognized in iTunes that way?
If not, then have you seen all of the suggestions in these two Knowledge Base articles on the matter?:

When normally powering the phone, there would not be a loading bar, you would just see the Apple logo. You can try a reset of the phone, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. The phone will reboot.
You can take the phone to Apple, by making an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the hardware checked. Apple handles warranty and post-warranty issues, not Verizon. Have Apple look at the hardware to see if there are any problems.

IPod shows up on Windows, not iTunes

recently someone in my family passed down their ipod nano to someone else in the family because the former had just purchased the new nano. The operating system the original ipod nano was used on was windows xp professional and functioned fine as well as iTunes. However, after changing the name of the ipod and using itunes on a seperate user profile, itunes no longer recognized an ipod in the drive, even though windows recognized it as a detachable drive.
So far i've tried making the account an administator account to see if it would recognize it, but it did not work. I've also considered reinstalling itunes, but i do not want to do that because i am not sure whether or not it would clear out the first person's library, who uses a seperate XP profile. any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are trying to sync via iCloud, make sure your MacBook is running OSX Lion 10.7.7, and that you have set up your iPhone as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/ and you MacBook as described here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.htm (including turning On Contacts and Calendars as shown in step 3). Okay, so I have tried everything listed on Apple's website to get my IPOD to be recognized in ITUNES. When I plug my IPOD into the USB port, the "do not disconnect" screen pops up. Nothing happens in ITUNES. Windows Vista pops up and says "Do you want me to scan and fix the IPOD F: drive?" Either selection doesn't do anything. I have tried the 5 R's from apple. I have tried to download every update available etc. I have tried to even go in and update the driver. However Vista is telling me that I have the most up to date version of everything. When my IPOD isn't connected to the PC, everything seems normal - except for the fact that there is no music or anything on it. But all menus are available and accessbile. Can anyone suggest what to do here? I am at a loss. Please help!! Thanks.

Yes, I'm having the same problem. If I connect my iPod to my laptop while iTunes is open, the 'Do not disconnect' sign appears, the battery does not charge, and my iPod doesn't appear either in iTunes or on my desktop. Since it doesn't appear in either of these places, I have to ignore the 'do not disconnect' sign and disconnect anyway. If I then reset my iPod, quite iTunes and reconnect iPod to laptop, everything's fine - iTunes opens, and recognizes the iPod. I guess this isn't the end of the world, since I can simply avoid ever connecting my iPod to my laptop while iTunes is open, but is this normal?

Hi, when you say you have tried everything... I presume you have gone into Settings > Store and logged out and back in with your account details?
You could try purchasing an app via iTunes to see if its an issue with the device or the account you're using.
