How to prepare for OCP DBA exams

I am a graduate of geology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I got intereted in OCP DBA when i saw Jason Couchman book 'Oracle8i certified professional DBA certificaton Exam Guide' with a friend. i never had any experience in database before but when i started reading the book i could do one or two things.
Now, my goal is to get certified one day but the only constraint right now is how to. Can i prepare and pass by reading this book alone or do i have to get other materials?
If i have to get other material, i will appreciate it if it can be sent as getting them here is realy hard.

There may be several kind of interviews, when I conducted technical interviews I let the guy talk about a topic, and I start asking about particularities. For me it is very important how accurate and documented is. And over all if the person is just trying to answer just to have a sound comming from his mouth, or if the person really knows what he or she is talking about. It is very very important to be honest at all time.

5) If you are serious about Oracle also take time to become familar with the Oracle Technology website [http://www.oracle.com/technology] which has links to documentation and tutorials and other resources.
6) IMPORTANT: Some 'online docs' you may find, or are directed to, or may be offered (particularly braindumps), may be unauthorised materials and using them could end up with you losing credit for any exam/certification you may take.
Hopefully you will find these references and places to search useful.

Is there any good book for J2EE Design pattern? I know Head First Design Pattern book, but is focuses oncore java. I want to learn in detail with examples J2EE design pattern.

most j2ee patterns are discredited now. they were mostly workarounds for deficiencies in ejb 1 & 2 specs.
"core j2ee patterns" is your best bet, but take it with a grain of salt.

App. server Certification for OCP DBA

Greetings !!!!!!!!!
I am OCP Database Administrator in 10g,9i,8i and now I am planning to take the certification in App Server.
Can someone please tell me which exam should I write to get app server certified?
Do I need to write two exams or only with one exam I can get the app server certification?

There are two exams to get OCP Application server 10g DBA similar to the OCP Database 10g exams. The exam names are
Oracle 10g Application server Administration I
Oracle 10g Application server Administration II
If you clear the first exam you get 'Oracle Certified Associate OCA' certificate and after clearing the second exam and attending a Application Server Administration training from Oracle University will fetch you the 'Oracle Certified Professional OCP' certificate.
This is similar to the Oracle Database 10g OCP DBA program.

Suggest Good book for Java GUI learning

Once you are a little more familiar with Swing, I'd suggest the book "filthy rich clients", as that book covers what lies beyond basic GUI programming, delving into creating rich UIs with custom painting.
Whatever you do, don't make the mistake of starting out with a GUI builder such as Netbeans provides; learn this stuff by programming everything yourself. You'll quickly learn what NOT to do in Swing programming, which is vital knowledge.
During your research, look out for the "Event Dispatch Thread" - that is one of the core mechanics of Swing that you should learn about to prevent yourself from making many mistakes that lead to unpredictable results.

Maybe the best thing would be a course? Books are fine, but you will probably learn quicker by example. There are some reasonable CD-ROM/DVD courses out there (not naming any). Google for some and check their rating. I know of no single book that would offer as much as a decent course. Once you are up to speed, then, yes, you'll be seeking out the better books. Finally, the 2-day guides in Oracle's docs. are really worth reading, and re-reading. But the docs, by themselves, are a bit dry. If you can afford an Oracle University course, or (my preference) Learning Tree (and, no, I do not work for them, etc.), then go for that - you won't regret it.

Pls suggest right BAPI FOR Tcode(MSC2N)

I am uploading the data(characteristic values) through the Tcode MSC2N When I am trying to do this through bdc it's not allowing to change characteristic values?What will be the problem?we can use the BAPI BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE but this bapi will only change the characteristic values but I also need to change date1 field(this is there in the Basic data2in the same transaction MSC2N) Can any body suggest how to do this please?

Are you talking about a free link? I would certainly hope not-- such a link would almost certainly be to a pirated copy which would be both unethical and illegal.
Books24x7 and O'reilly's Safari are pay sites that provide online access to many technical books (Oracle Press also has a similar site). There is a good chance that one or both of these sites carry the book you're after.

tries to cast Memento into its super class State which is inorrect [former is not latter's subclass]
