Plug-in 1.3.1_02  & Plug-in 1.4.0 interop issues

I have Java Plug-in 1.3.1_02 and Java Plug-in 1.4.0 installed on Win2000 sp2. I have come across a weird problem which shows up when loading html files (with plugin tags specified), compared to web-site access.
When I load a plugin 1.3.1 initially, say, it works properly. If I now look at my win32 PATH environment variable, there is a new path (for the j2re v1.3.1) prepended. When I shut the
browser down (either NN or IE), that PATH addition stays there!
Now, if I try to load a plugin 1.4 page locally, the PATH envar gets an additional part prepended (this time for the j2re 1.4 version). There is an error message now that shows up, but the applet
does run. When I now go back and locally load another 1.3.1 plugin page, other error messages show up :-(
-- has anyone seen this ?? can anyone verify this on win32 platforms ??
-- does anyone know how to clear the PATH to remove these extra PATH prepends?? (I can only clear them by logging out and logging back in. Then seem to be frozen to the logged in user!
If I access the same pages over http from web server, the local path does NOT get these prepends, but I need to shut down the browser (either IE or Netscape) to alternate between Plugin 1.3.1 and Plugin 1.4 pages.
Is any of the above problems doc'd anywhere??
Thanks,
Mitch

When using my MAC desktop, when I try to play a video on the Apple Homepage I just get a spinning wheel and it says "missing plug-in".  What's the issue?

Yep. I installed Lion this morning. Open Mail. All is good. Went to video on the Apple's homepage and my whole computer froze up. I couldn't even shut down the computer properly. I just had to shut it off and restart. :|
Although, no "missing plug in" prompts were coming up for me. Just a frozen (brand new) iMac.

  • Macbook works fine when plugged in, turns off when unplugged.

    Hello all,
As stated my 2008 Unibody 13 inch, serial number W8******1AX turns on and works fine when it is connected to power.
When it is unplugged it instantly turns off and turns its fans on full until it depletes the battery (so it is obviously getting power.. just not where I want it)
Since the problem began I have tried two new batteries, neither of which had any different symptoms.
Before this, the computer had an intermittent life, it would turn off when it saw fit, which got progressively worse.
I have followed the guides to resetting the SMC but have had no luck
I have been running it without the battery (to save it charging and discharging for no reason) and sometimes when plugged in without a battery
the magsafe green indicator light goes from dim to bright.
With the battery installed it stays bright orange until it is charged and then switches to bright green.
(I have tried it with another charger, same symptoms)

There may be a hardware cause behind the symptoms you cite, so a diagnostic
is recommended to see which parts are weak or failed in the computer. A visit to
an Apple Store with Genius bar may be helpful, as they can perform testing there.
A call ahead or use their web page, to schedule an appointment, is advised.
In the US and Canada, the Genius bar at a retail Apple Store can perform
a diagnostic service, for no fee, even on Apple products without AppleCare.
    See links:

Also authorized Apple service providers who can test, repair and guarantee their
work should be able to handle an out-of-warranty older Mac, within age limits...
Ones too old for the Apple Store could be serviced at a Specialist, instead.

Also another item, other than keeping the magnetic connections clean of
debris, grime, and corrosion, is to check the MagSafe Board or have it
checked as part of a greater diagnostic. This board is behind the port
that supplies the computer and the battery with power from the adapter.
When it partially fails or if/when one of the connecting wires or plug fails
you can find odd issues or partial use. The battery may charge but it
may not be able to power the computer, and other odd effects.
    https://www.ifixit.com/Device/MacBook
In older portable Macs, this was generally called a 'DC-in board' and as
such, you could read about it in an iFixit repair guide for the MacBook
model you have. These vary so the matching article is recommended to
see if that is something you may want to try. But I would have diagnostic
testing done and avoid additional damages from attempted DIY efforts.
There have been a few reports of other failure on the logic board that
contributes to a partial failure of the charging system, so about all this
may do is troubleshoot around the failure without finding an exact cause.
    However it goes...
    Good luck & happy computing!

My Macbook is not playing sound unless i have headphones in. The light in the headphone port stays on even when they are not plugged in. How can i fix this?

You might need to clean the headphone port (I was in the same situation and this worked for me).  Dirt, dust, and debris accumulate in the port and eventually the computer registers the debris as headphones being plugged in.  After cleaning the issue was resolved.

I tried clearing the presets by holding down CTRL+ALT+SHFT - But still no luck.

It must be a faulty plug-in that's causing this issue. What version of CS are you running? If it is CS6, have you installed the 13.0.1 update?

  • Oracle Virtual Directory vs. Oracle External Authentication Plug-in

I am working in Windows 2003 Server platform and I have Oracle Portal 10g R2 with Oracle Single Sign On 10g R2 setup. I also have Microsoft Active Directory setup. I want to use Microsoft Active Directory users from Oracle Portal and as per my understanding I could use Oracle External Authentication Plug-in or Oracle Virtual Directory for this purpose. I would like to use Oracle Virtual Directory if possible. Could someone please tell me if I could use Oracle Virtual Directory or not?
    Thanks.

Yeah, I could use Oracle External Authentication Plug-in, but I am having issues with running the oidspadi.sh script on my Windows 2003 server environment. I am running this script using Cygwin's latest software, but for some reason I get the following error message.

Therefore, I was trying to find an alternative solution, which will be using Virtual Directory. Right now, I have installed Oracle Virtual Directory on my testing system and I have both Active Directory server and OID server part of LDAP Browser. My goal is to using Oracle Portal to log-in and first look for the user in OID if not found then look in Active Directory. Can this be accomplished using Oracle Virtual Directory?
    Please let me know.

  • R/3 Plug-In for NW04s

    Hi,
Currently, we are on PI_BASIS Level 8 (SAPKIPYI58)in our R/3 system and our R/3 was just recently unicoded as well.  What level should we be at for NW04s?
Also, we are getting a short dump in R/3 when doing a simple plant text extraction (0PLANT_TEXT).  This is failing in R/3 as the language field is not getting populated.  When the language is made a selection field, the extract (Txn RSA3) is actually short dumping R/3.  Does anyone have any insight into this?
My feeling is that the unicoding created this additional language field in the extract structure and also not being on the correct Plug-in might be creating some issues.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks
    Senthil

It is certainly due to an inconsistency between the structures on R/3 and BW.
Please check if your 0plant_text datasource (in RSO2) has LANGU or SPRAS field, it should not be there (same with table T001w_biw).
You will also need to remove such field if it is there, on BW in the infosource. And, make sure 0PLANT infoobject , text tab, the language-dependent flag is unchecked. You will have to activate, replicate and do extraction again.
I am not sure, it could be that an upgrade might not have changed the structure the way it was supposed to (earlier versions had language field in the extraction, which is no more there in newer versions).
It may have nothing to do with unicode, I think.

  • Plug accounts issues

    Hi guys,
I'm not quite sure of having understand plug accounts and I have some issues with eliminations right now.
I have tree accounts with the same plug account.
    Father1
    Child1- PlugAccount1
    Child2- PlugAccount1
    Child3- PlugAccount1
    PlugAccount1
The application works with default consolidation. My problem is that the PlugAccount it's showing a weird resulta at some entity level. The entities are as follows:
    Entity0
    EntityA
    EntityB1
EntityC1 EntityC2 (those are te IC partners)
Plugaccount1 shows value in EntityB1 (the difference) and also in EntityA and Entity0. Is this usual? Should it roll out to all the parents? PlugAccount1 has value in EC, ECT, PC, PCT and Elimination... Is it right?
    I'd really appreciate your comments.
    Thank you!

    Hello
If you want the elimination to work and you do not want to use the default rule you have to follow the next step
    1. In the app setting mark ConsolidationRule=Y
2.Upload the consolidate rule, I am send in you an example in the last part of this mail
3Entitys property isICP, flag Y in each entity that you are going to have intercompany transactions
4Account flag s isicp for the plug account and the account that you want to have intercompany transactions
The eliminations are going to appear in elimination in the child . SO it will not consolidate to the parent.
    I hope it help

  • Java Plug-in version mismatch crash IE8 with DEP error

We are running Windows XP SP3 with IE8 and some of our internal sites that require JRE will crash the browser with a DEP error. The machines that exhibit this behaviour have multiple versions of JRE installed. However, we haven't been able to nail it down to specific version(s). The only common thread we can find is when looking at the IE8 add-on list the Java plug-in doesn't look quite right. The name column will show "Java Plug-in 1.6.0_19" but the version column lists 1.6.0.7. Has anyone seen that where the name of the Java plug-in add-on doesn't match the version column? I still can't repro the version mismatch issue yet and we've only seen it on a handful of machines so far. However, we are getting ready to rollout IE8 to our enterprise and I want to get a handle on this issue.
I have found two workarounds so far. One is to the disable the Java Plug-in with the version mismatch issue. Then it will fall back on one of the other JRE versions installed. The second workaround is to install the latest version of JRE which also resolves the issue. Seems like a no brainer but in our environment we have requirements for specific versions of JRE and simply pushing out the latest version to everyone may break the other apps.
Anyone heard of this behaviour before?

  • Iphoto 08 and shutterfly plug in

I downloaded and installed the plug in. I then selected the photos and exported them and selected Shutterfly. Then when I try to upload I am prompted to put my Shutterfly user name and password. I do and then I get the pop up box that says "Alert. Authentication failed." I know this is the correct info because I can login using Safari. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
I suggest not using that plug-in. Folks regularly report issues with it on here. You should contact the Shutterfly people to either fix it and remove it.
Alternatives include PictureSync or any of the standard ways of accesing your pics:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • ADSL2+ Line Noise - Only when ANY modem/router plugged in??

Hi,My parents are suffering consistent sub1Mb/s internet speeds for several months now.Telstra land line into the house, Westnet (iinet) internet ADSL2+ account, Billion 7800 modem router. Now the primary phone socket has a DECT base station and the second wall socket has the billion and a telstra landline phone on it.There's an ADSL2 filter at each wall socket. There is noticeable noise on the line heard from either phone.. but if you disconnedt the Billion router.. the noise disappears completely! So I brought over a brand new router.. exactly the same!!!!  noisy when plugged in.. silent when not.I have tried the setup with the phone (and filter) unplugged in the kitchen (primary socket) - same symptomI have tried it with the phone disconnected in the study (with and without the filter) same symptom.Have tried several replacement ADSL filters and verified they are all plugged in correctly.Have tried the Router plugged into the kitchen socket instead - same symptom..Telstra tested the line (after asking me to disconnect everything- obviously all good (as the noise is only ever present when a router is plugged in..  so recon there's no fault...So what to do!!.. Thinking of trying a third modem/router.. as IT IS ONLY NOISY WHEN A ROUTER IS PLUGGED IN.. but doubt the new unit is faulty (tried it at my house and there's no noise!!)So what is causing this?I have tried every combination of isolation I can think of.Any thoughts...AJ

Did you try swap out the filters? Just incase one of the filters is faulty?
Sounds like there might be an issue which might be for the ISP to investigate, because Telstra are only able to, and only going to check the phone line to identify the faults present, so if when the modem isn't plugged in there is no phone issue, it sounds less like a line fault and more like something else...

  • Screen lag when plugged for power- since new updates came out..

I am having some issues with screen lag-locked up screen- not moving screen, since last updates. If I pull out the power plug, it works good , screen moves fast. does anyone have same issue or solution for this issue???
    CAN someone help?

Try a different wall charger. I was having a similar situation where the phone wouldn't respond to my touch while plugged in when I was using a different transformer plug with my original usb cable. It wasn't until I found my original transformer plug. I never saw the issue with the car charger or an I-Go wall charger.

I have 10.6.7 on a Mac Mini 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB of ram and a 60 gig hard drive.
It seems that every time I plug or unplug any USB device, it disconnects all the connected USB drives.  This seems to be something new, but I have not really often used the other USB ports either.  It is very frustrating, as you can imagine.  If I plug one drive in, and then plug another drive in, plugging the second drive it often disconnects the first one.
But it is not just drives.  I can have only one drive plugged in, and unplug and replug the keyboard, and the USB drive will disconnect.  Then I will get message about how I did not safely disconnect the drive.

Yes.  One is a mini Toshiba USB drive with no other options for power.  But even unplugging an iPhone USB cord with NO iPhone attached to it will cause the drive to drop off.  The second USB drive I plugged in today had the same issues.  Basically I have to unmount a drive, then plug in a second device, then remount the drive using disk utility.  Very painful.

  • Tuner from plug-in

    Hi All,
Having a recording section recently. It's quite strange about the Tuner Plug-in. There was no issue when I recording a bass via USB audio interface, that means, I c'ld just pick a string and check out the pitch on the spot through the Tuner above. But, I c'ld not use it when I recording an acoustic guitar via Preamp with Firewire. Which means, It c'ld be function properly after recorded and play it back. That means, I c'ld not check the guitar pitch via the Tuner during recording. Yes, record button enabled!!
    Thanks for help.

Nothing is wrong with the tuner plug in. The error is extremely likely to be on you side. Check everything again, especially the bypass button. Also check that the incoming level is high enough and not too much noise in the signal. And make sure only one string is sounding at a time.
    Cheers,
    Jazz
