Plug in boris missing

Hi,
When I upgraded to fcp 5 my boris title 3d disappeared.
The Boris plug-in is in the folder: library/aplication support/ final cut pro system support.
I have also tried to put the 3d plug in - in the folder: user/library/aplication support/ final cut pro system support.
BUT THE PROBLEM IS that the plug in looks like a blank page - it has no icon.
The same goes for aother plug ins. They look like white pages as well.
any idea why?

You should repair permissions on that drive using the disk utility and the utilities folder.

Yes. Thanks. I misled myself based on another post. Successfully did this by selecting "File," "Save a copy ..." then choosing "for CS4 or later (IDML)"
It required some patience and several tries, but I think that was due to hardware (memory) being overloaded by CC Cloud version or something. It was a 50 MB, 500-page file and took 17 minutes to convert/save,
Re-capping: from CCloud to CS5, don't use "Export" (to IDML); use "Save as" or "Save a copy" and select "for CS4 or later (IDML)".

Another BORIS MISSING thread.

Hi,
I've been looking at several BORIS MISSING threads trying to find a solution, and have not found a good one yet. Here is my problem:
Originally purchased FCP studio 5.0 in 2005. Noticed Boris was missing (never needed it) about a year ago and never figured out how to get it back (didn't try very hard). Upgraded to 5.1.4 about two weeks ago, and it's still missing. Trashing preferences doesn't help.
The specifics:
Boris does not show up under generators in effects tab or in viewer generators popup.
BorisFX folder is in Application Support as it should be, and all necessary files (as mentioned in other threads) seem to be in place. What's more, if I create another account, BORIS WORKS. But I don't want to login to another account every time I want to use Boris.
Something I've noticed: I seem to recall that Boris file icons in Application Support>BorisFX were some sort of "Kind: After Effects" Icons prior to my 5.1.4 install (also prior to my recent purchase of Photoshop). Now they are either "Kind: Unix Executable File" or (under BorisFX>Gradient Styles) "Kind: Adobe Photoshop Gradient File". Would this have anything to do with my problem? Anyone have any ideas for me?

1. Open your system Plugins folder (not your own FCP User Data folder):
Macintosh Hard Drive/Library/Applications Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Plugins
2. Copy these folders to the desktop:
Text Scrambler.bundle
Title 3D.bundle
Title Crawl.bundle
Vector Shape.bundle
3. Change the extensions on all four desktop files from bundle to .plugin
This requires password authentication. They will become blank icons.
4. Delete the original .bundle folders from the Plugins folder
7. Move the desktop .plugin files to the Plugins folder
8. Launch FCP and they should now show up under the "Boris"
generators category

hi, i have this problem: when i try to open different things, like photomerge or libraries, i see always this message: "photoshop don't open ... because was missing javascript plug-in".
Please tell me a solution, i reinstalled but nothing.

You need to install the latest Java SE6 runtime, go to this link and download it and it should take care of your CS5 if you have Yosemite in order for it to run hope this works

How to Identify Which Plug In is Missing?

Years ago (back in 2007), we were given some Indesign files as reference for a client's work. We never needed to open them and, if I recall correctly, we tried but had a problem. I believe we got an error saying that a special plug in was required.
Now we definitely are getting an error like that. Upon opening it, we get an error that says, "Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application." The file format should be supported. And the file is not open. Is there any way to tell what plug-in might be missing?
BTW, I'm still working in CS6

I opened one of the failing files and an openable one in BBEdit. They look nothing alike. Below is the failing one.
Still, this is weird. The file has an indd extension. And, it looks like it was packaged by InDesign. It's in a folder with a Links folder and a Fonts folder. Could it be so old that it's unopenable by CS6?

Changes made on my iPad do not appear when plugged into iTunes; missing album art on iPad.

If I make changes to the music on my iPad--i.e. delete songs/albums, add ratings, add a song to a playlist--when I plug my iPad in to view the contents in iTunes, none of these changes have been saved. The deleted music reappears, the ratings do not show up, and the new songs are not in the playlist.
Additionally, when I have my iPad plugged in to my Mac, all of my album art shows in iTunes. However, if I look at the music on my iPad by albums, much of my album art is missing.
Any suggestions?

Visionplace, i have the issue where my ipad2 changes/edits to my current playlists are NOT synced up with my itunes 11 on my computer (Windows 7). I have icloud and Itunes Match is turned on. My settings are to auto-sync and i have ALL my music set to be synced, not just select playlists. (Note I have not tested whether new playlists will appear because i usually just edit my existing ones).
So whenever i make playlist changes on my ipad2 (e.g., add or delete songs), i see the changes correctly on my iphone 4, and my Apple TV within 15 minutes without taking any steps, but they do NOT appear on my itunes 11 on my computer (Windows 7). The only way i have found to get the ipad2 playlist edits onto my itunes on my computer is to sync my iphone4 up with the computer. (My ipad changes are already on the iphone 4 automatically). My computer's itunes 11 CAN see the playlist edits i have made on the iphone4 (immediately), but not the ipad. It *****, but it works for me.
For new music purchases (from itunes store) on my ipad2, the only way i can see them on my itunes 11 on the computer is to go to the store, and download them again. Otherwise, they will not appear.
Note - in another forum when i was researching this ipad sync issue, someone had stated that the ipad/computer sync is one way. (I.e., from computer-to-ipad only). If true, that would explain why the ipad edits and new music purchases dont show up in my computer itunes. However, the iphone sync must be two ways.

BORIS MISSING

I have, per recommendations from you smart guyz, done a fresh install in Panther, FCP and all... Actually, I have only QT, FCP and a couple minor thing on the drive... no imovie, i photo, mail, or anything that I won't actually need for FCP work,,, Lean and mean. All seems well.
I cannot though, get Boris to work. I can see it in the applications support, but the style palette will not show when I call up Title 3d or Text crawl. I remember there was a fix for this, but I just can't remember and the archives didn't show me anything.

NOPE! Didn't work.
It installed BorisFX and Boris FX in the Application Support folder and Boris Calligraphy in the Plug-ins folder. 3d and Crawl show up in the effects tab but still no style palette.
I tried moving the FX folders to the plug ins but that didn't help, either. So I moved them back... Well, actually I trashed it all and installed Boris again.
What next?

Namoroka will not recognise Adobe Flash Plug In. Keeps saying a plug in is missing.

I just installed Firefox 64 bit that is called Namoroka. A couple of sites say "Additional plug ins are required to display all of the media on this page"; Clicking "Install missing plugin" takes me to Download Adobe Flash Player. I install it and reboot. Restarting Firefox gives me same problem asking for Adobe Flash Plyer to be installed. I check installed programs and find that Adobe Flash player is installed. I try all manner of tricks but Firefox Namoroka still doesn't recognise that Adobe Flash Player is installed.

Plug in folders missing

Hi,
I've just updated from Premiere version 8.0 to 8.1 and have decided to try out the neat video noise reduce plug-in. I've installed it as per instructions but the folder it wanted to install into wasn't there. I have tried installing it in a folder I created in "Documents", in all the other folders I can find that say plug-in in /Library, and I tried re-creating the folder structure it asks for (/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/) as per other posts about plug-ins on here. I definitely am in /Library not /Users/Library (I searched for it manually in the finder "go to folder" option and when it wasn't found I re-created the structure manually) as that seemed to be a problem for some people. I still can't get it to work!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Can you take a look at this post: Re: Audio filter missing It talks about audio plug-ins missing, but for one user, he was able to get a video plug-in working again in this instance.

Which plug-in is missing

I'm using Safari 2.0 with QT Pro 7.0.2 When I visit certain sites such as boreme.com, some video downloads produce an error message reading:
"Some content on this page requires an Internet plug-in that Safari doesnt support. The application Windows Media Player may be able to display this content. Would you like to try?"
Usually, the WMP option doesn't work, anyway. Can someone tell me which plug-in I'm missing, as nothing, nobody and nowhere else seems to offer any clues? I'd prefer to stick with Safari if I can.

Norman, you can try View Source from the View menu to see what MIME type the video is which should indicate what plugin would be required to play it.

Reinstall the program. This is caused by incompatible updates to Acrobat/ Adobe Reader that introduce new versions of the globally shared PDF libraries.

Plug-in settings missing after basic install

ive just done a fresh install of logic 7.2 + updates to 7.2.3
i didn't install any of the sound files or content on the disc. i just noticed that all the plugin settings are missing. anyone know where to install them? are they in with the sound files on disc 1 somewhere?
i dont want to install all the bonus content i just want the plugin settings.

You can open the contents packages of said DVDs and find the settings by hand.
Also, they might be installed somewhere else. Did you look in both your main Library and your User Library Suuport folders?
