When I try to open an applet on a site I get the message "Java plug-in fatal error- several Java virtual machines running in the same process caused an error". Checking my add/remove program I see that I have J2SE runtime environment 5.0 updates 7,9,10 and 11. Java 2 runtime environment standard edition version 1.3.1_02, 1.4.1_01, and 1.4.2_03. Also Java runtime environment 6 update 1. I'm running Windows XP service pack 2. Hope someone has a solution to my problem.
This is an existing bug request:
http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6516270
Providing this information could be handy:
1) Does this occur on all browser(s) which includes Firefox, Mozilla other then Internet Explorer
2) What is the outcome of running testvm applet:
http://java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
3) Does this error start appearing after updating to 6u01
4) Have you attempted running the applet after deleting Java Plug-in and browser cache
This could be an issue with memory management on the system.
The possible workaround(s) are:
1) Try setting virtual memory as System managed:
Windows xp users start--->control panel--->System--->advanced---->Performance(setting)---->Advanced---->virtualmemory(change)--->Click system managed size--->set then Ok restart your computer
2) Set JRE parameter less then 3/4 of actual physical memory present in the system.
For example, 512 MB if RAM is 1024 MB.
3) Disable any unwanted/new/confusing add-on in the browser (IE7).
For example, Windows Live Sign-in add-on can restrict Java functioning due to unknown reasons. Disabling same, if installed could be helpful. -
Modify Webi Report causes Java Plug-In Fatal Error
Environment: BOXIR2 SP3 Windows XP
Java loaded: Java 1.6.0_07 + JRE 1.4.2_04 + JInitiator 1.3.1.24
Hi,
I have been happily developing Webi reports on my PC for several years and to my knowledge, I have not upgraded my Java software even when I get prompted by Java that updates are available as I know how problematic upgrading can be if it is not supported by BO.
I am suddenly getting a Java Plug-In Fatal Error every time I try to modify a Webi report with the message " The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded".
We have uninstalled Java and re-installed the same Java versions but stil the same problem.
Any help appreciated.
Best Regards
Ben Iannunzio
Adelaide South AustraliaHi Ben
I remember having some issues running Java 1.6.0_xx on BOXI R2 and made sure we were on Java 1.4.2_xx.
Another thing you might want to try before uninstalling is to clear the Java cache, it can be found under...
local install drive\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache
If you also haven't already done so, I'd reload the current Java version (after your uninstall) directly from the server by trying to create or modify a new WEBI report.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Java(TM) Plug-in Fatal Error
Cannot load class sun/plugin javaRunTime.
The Bridge was installes at <C:\PROGRA~1\Java\JRE15~1.0_0> but the class is not there
Modify the registry key to reflect the new bridge location
the key is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in or change your CLASSPATH to include the new directory
Please consult the documentation for more information
how do Solved the error?Nevermind, I solved it! I had to download carrier specific software from the Blackberry website first (link below), and THEN go to the Device Manager and finish the process there!

Plug-in 1.4 Fatal Error
I had installed the 1.4 JRE on W2K and later removed it. I had actuall removed all Java from the system and then reinstalled the 1.3.1_04 SDK with it's JRE. Every time I try to start an Applet based application I get a Plug-in 1.4 fatal Error - The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from <\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll>.
Does anyone know where this has retained it self on my systems as there should be no 1.4 JRE bits on there - there is no properties under my user\.java directory.Hi, i did what you wrote, i created the keys in the registry and it worked but that is a detail, i configured the 1.3.1_02 classpath to load some classes, but the windows load 1.3.1_01 and this has no classpath configured. Anyone can help me, please
The fix that I came up with is this:
Go to the registry path - HKLM\Software\JavaSoft\Java
Plug-in
Take note of the values under whatever version is
loaded, in my case it was 1.3.1_02.
Create a new key under the above-listed registry path
and name it 1.3.1_01 (or what ever version is
indicated to be missing in error msg)
Then create a DWORD value under the 1.3.1_01 key named
UseJava2IExplorer and enter a value of 1.
Then create a string value named JavaHome and enter
the path of your installed Java Plug-in.
In my case and probably yours - problem fixed.
Don't know where the call for this registry key is
coming from tho. ?? -
XP Fatal Error after plugging in my iphone
I have had my iphone for around 3 weeks and everything has been working perfect with it. Before Thanksgiving I added some music and everything worked perfect, I shut down my laptop as normal. It's been 4 days since then and I have not sync or connected my phone to any computer. Well, last night I decided to add an album on my iphone. So, I turned on my laptop after it booted up, I connected my iphone and it showed on the task bar that a digital camera had been connected, not an iphone then a few seconds later I got the windows famous blue screen of death displaying a fatal error. Now, when I reboot my computer it shows that a serious error has occured with these details:
BCCode : 1000007e BCP1 : C0000005 BCP2 : 00000000 BCP3 : BAD077C4
BCP4 : BAD074C0 OSVer : 512600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_
Then if I click details about the error it shows:
C:\DOCUME~1\BILLFL~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER4099.dir00\Mini112807-03.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\BILLFL~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER4099.dir00\sysdata.xml
I have tried a system restore, booting with last known working conf, deleting the mini1112807-03.dmp folder.
Has ANYONE had this problem before?? If so, please HELPWOW!! You are the man!! Fixed it like a charm. The only thing that I did add to my phone was one simple picture. I deleted the picture and it works!!! Super thanks again.. Off to update all my drivers (even the logtic built in web cam).
Thanks again!! -
I did do an upgrade since the G5 had been out in a studio for some time, away from internet. This may have efected it...? Battery is still on the hard drive and all components. I says that it cannot find the Installer... and refuses to read it from the disk. I'm struggling here folks. Would really appreciate some help if anyone knows more.

I tried using system restore and continued to get fatal error messages. Pressing escape, F8,F9,F10,F11,& F12 all resulted in fatal error messages. One time the F10 woked and I pressed exit and save. I can't get it back again.
I tried the recovery disk and after he sixth try I was able to get to the screen where I could restore the computer to the original factory settings. The hard drive was reformatted and the software was reinstalled. After restart I had an initial start up screen. On the first screen all of the defaults were correct english, USA, etc. I hit next. On this page I was to input My Name and the computer name. My keyboard would not input anything, therefore the NEXT would not highlight and I couldn't go any further. I powered down and restarted 2 more times with the same result. On the 4th try I was back to fatal errors and am stuck there. Even the Recovery disk no longer works. It could be that the database entries for that particular book are corrupted. Apply the fix below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to rebuild the database

I recently purchased a second itouch for my daughter and when I plugged it in to my computer it required that I download 9.2. I already had an existing version of itunes on my PC. While installing it stated "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor". Then it continues to download Quicktime. The itunes icon appears on my desktop but when I click it I receive the "Fatal Error while Installing message". I have uninstalled/reinstalled, created a new user account on my PC, updated my Windows service pack. Nothing seems to solve this problem, now I can't even sync the other ipods I have. Any idea how to fix this so I can get itunes back to working?
I followed the instructions in the exact order as they appeared. I get the following error:
"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
When I click "OK" it continues to install Quicktime and that completes properly. Then it tells me itunes has been successfully installed. The itunes icon appears on my desktop, but when I click it, it goes through what appears to be a windows configuration setup, but then gives me the same message I was getting before: "Problem with shortcut: Fatal error during installation". Someone had suggested on another post to use Firefox instead of IE to download itunes, but that hasn't worked for me either.
This is so frustrating, we have three itouch ipods in this house and we cant sync or add music to any of them since this occurred. I really appreciate your assistance. -
Flash Crashes across all browsers and recent fatal errors
This problem has basicly been going on for years and my operating system has been resintalled a couple of times before but basicly the problem is that adobe flash player (and Microsoft Silverlight) would crash a browser (IE, Chrome, and Firefox) often. I have tried the fixes ive read about but they didnt seem to work so I just decided to put up with it until I began getting fatal errors. I had my hardware checked out and there are no problems with and all my drivers are up to date.
Flash: 11.5.502.135
Windows 7 (64-bit)
HD 5570 and HD 6870 (upgraded from one to the other but problem still occurs)
Like I said I usually try to put up with flash (and silverlight) crashing my browser but now they crash the browse so badly it forces a bugcheck (or blue screen of death). I have tried to reload my operating system, then updated my drivers, and then in clean boot mode I still get pretty nasty crashes. I think the problem is within one of my drivers but I cant pinpoint which driver is the culprit.

Subject: Flash Player Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite
re-install
I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no
crashing but no flash either. I used a combination of different suggestions and
here's what finally worked (so far anyway):
Show package contents for Firefox/Contents/MacOS/components and Get Info
changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else. -
Have a problem with the Laserjet M1522nf constantly restarting. Running the printer through a wifi connection on a Mac system 10.5 (desktop) and system10.6 (macbook Pro). Read where you remove the printer plug from a surge protecter and plug the printer in a single outlet. Still did not help, kept restarting after 2 minutes. Went up on the HP support driver site and found a firmware update, tried to load that and the display showed corrupt firmware then on a restart went to Fatal error. Now what????
HELP
tomUpdate to the above. On my Mac laptop I have Parallels Desktop installed. I was able to download an app to the windows side (M1520_MFP_Series_FW_Update-20130923.exe). Also on the HP website I followed THIS link for instructions.
I must have tried it a dozen times with no success. I unplugged the printer for the evening and gave it another go in the morning, the firmware loaded and got back the printer to where I was the day before, namely, it initializes every two minutes.
thanks in advance for any help on this issue

Jinitiator 1.3 Fatal Error
Hi All,
I'm using Windows 7 32 bit OS. Installed JRE 6 Update 32 version and JInitiator 1.3.1.22. My application is designed with Oracle Forms 10g. When I try to open my application getting Jinitiator 1.3 Fatal error Java Run Time Environment cannot be loaded from <...\jvm.dll>. I have replaced Jinitiator jvm.dll file with JRE6 jvm.dll file.
And also uninstalled the JRE,Jintiator and reinstalled but with no luck.
Can any one please help me on this? The Oracle JInitiator is no longer supported by Oracle, however it will still work with Windows XP and IE 6. However, as you are using Windows 7 your browser is at least IE 8 - which is completely incompatible with Jinitiator. When Oracle Forms 10g was first released, Jinitiator was the default Java PlugIn but it also supports up to Java Runtime 1.6.0_32. You will need to modify your Forms Runtime configuration to use the JRE 1.6.0. This Oracle white paper describes the process: Oracle 10gR2 Forms Services – Using Sun's Java Plug-in.
Hope this helps.
