    Hello Wojislav,
Thank you for your prompt response. Yes, I can do that but don't you think that it would be preferable if the installer/update script didn't evoke this response? None of my other software updates does and while I would like to trust people, these days it gets harder and harder when folks are willing to lie and cheat at the drop of a hat and without compunction. It does not help either that false sites (Adobe mimics) have been installing Trojan Horses so it would be safer all around to remove that foible. It is just not very good. Or at least, it does not look very good, which amounts to the same thing at first glance.
    Thanks again for you concern.

Can someone enlighten me re: Adobe plug-in install and Adobe system manager plug-in install fo 15.0.0.189?  Is there a difference?  Thanks!

    Yes!
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.

  • How to find Safari plug-in installed on a specific date?

I posted this question in the wrong community, so am re-posting here.
I want to remove a Safari plug-in. I know how to find the plug-ins that have been installed (Safari > Help > Installed Plug-Ins), but the names of the plug-ins mean nothing to me. I do know, however, when the plug-in (the one that I want to remove) was installed.  Is there a way to see the list of installed plug-ins by install date?  Thx

Do you back up with Time Machine? If so, scroll back through the snapshots of the plugin folders until you find the most recent change.

File > Export > 'Burn Masters to Disc' or 'Burn Versions to Disc'.
Those commands will invoke the BurnToDisc dialog where you make your selections (I had run the trial but don't use it now).
If you mount the '.dmg' file again, you will see a user's guide which you can drag to the desktop and it will explain all the options available in the dialog that gets invoked.

After going through the set up I am getting the green light on the airport extreme, but it will not connect to the internet.
    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
I have my internet either cable coming out of the modem and plugged into AP Extreme. If I plug the cable directly into the back of the iMac I can access the internet that way with no issies.
Is that cable connected to a broadband modem? If so, when switching what device is connected to that, you should power down that modem for several minutes, then power it back up. Without this process, some modems will refuse to connect to a different device.
I had to configure my Network preferences, and turned on the Airport2 (for some reason when I try to turn on Airport it will not turn on.
There are ways to reset all that, but first let's try to get things to work.
Any ideas why?). So I get an error code that pops up stating that I do not have a good IP address. The address for the router is 10.0.1.1 and the IPv4 address is showing 10.0.1.2.
The IP address of what? (Where do you see that?)
The error box that pops up states: 10.0.1.1 in use by 90:84:0d:d3:7a:5b.
The value starting with "90" is a "MAC address" (not to be confused with "Mac", i.e. "Macintosh"). That address is in a range assigned to Apple. Apple calls a MAC address assigned to a WiFi interface an "AirPort ID". You can identify the AirPort ID of an AirPort Extreme either from the value embossed on the case or in AirPort Utility. You can identify the AirPort ID of a Mac either in the Network panel of System Preferences (select the AirPort connection item, then click on the Advanced button) or in System Profiler (Apple menu -> About This Mac, More Info, Contents -> Network, Active Services -> AirPort, Ethernet: MAC Address).
Where do you see that message? What is running at the time?

  • FB3 plug-in install into Eclipse 3.3 does not install editors

I just decided to upgrade to Eclipse 3.2 as it has been
suggested in the forums that could improve stability on Windows
    Vista.
I installed Eclipse 3.3, then ran the FB3 Beta1 install to
install into the new eclipse installation. Install completed
successfully but after opening eclipse I got errors when it
attempted to load the editor for open source files. It basically
    said that com.adobe.flexbuilder.editors.derived.something could not
be loaded or something like that.
I thought maybe it was because I had not unistalled the FB3
plug-in first so I uninstalled it, unzipped a fresh copy of eclipse
3.3 and then installed the FB3 plug-in again. Same problem.
On inspecting the plugins folder of my eclipse installation,
    I noticed that the
    com.adobe.flexbuilder.editors.derived_3.0_172437.jar file was not
unpaced, as the other editors (mxml, actionscript, etc) were. So I
    unzipped the JAR to
    com.adobe.flexbuilder.editors.derived_3.0_172437 and started
Eclipse and this seems to have fixed the problem.

On further investigation this does not seem to be an
installation problem but rather an Eclipse permission issue. The
JAR file is installed and I believe the expected behavior is that
Eclipse automatically unpacks ("activates") it when it is first
required. I noticed permission denied errors in the Eclipse log
relating to bundle activation failure. I saw the same problem for
    the Java editor (org.eclipse.jdt.ui).
I'm not sure why Eclipse is unable to activate the bundles
however. As far as I can tell everything in the workspace and
eclipse folders is owned by me and I have run a "takeown /f /r" on
both to make sure but it still fails. I vaguely remember the same
problems when I originally installed Eclipse 3.2 on Vista.
Some of the Eclipse folders did not have u+w permission
however but even though those folders (and their parents) were
owned by me I could not chmod them unless the command shell was
"Run as Administrator", which is odd.
Anyway, after taking care of the permissions on those folders
all now appears to be well.

  • Problems with layers after Camera RAW plug in installed

    Hello all,
I am rather new to Photoshop, so please excuse what maybe an easy question, I have made a few images into black and white and added color to them in select parts.  Not to long ago I downloaded the new Camera RAW plug in to work on NEF pics.  Now I can not get the layers to work.  For some reason it is not allowing me to remove the black and white layer and bring out the color.  This is true in RAW-I get an Alpha Channel error if working in RAW or the brush will not work in the BW image saying it is not allowed on a layer?
What am I missing?  I am thinking there is something really basic that I can not figure out.  Any help is appreciated.
    Mike

The Camera Raw plug-in is part of the original default Photoshop installation.  If you downloaded a newer version, it should have replaced the original one.  Where did you install it?
Layered files have absolutely nothing to do with Camera Raw.
However, you have not given us details and your description of your problem is far from clear.  Please explain.

  • Automated Plug-in Install?  Is it Possible?

    Hi there,
The problem I am facing is that I want to install the
Java Runtime Environment on a PC from a webpage,
although this is not the problem, I can do this quite
easilly..... What I want to know is if it is possible to
set up the Plug-in automatically after it installed?
See, I DON'T want the Plug-in to use the Browser
setting under the PROXIES tab. I am of course using
the JRE 1.4.0 Plug-in. I know how to do a silent install
and all, but shucks!!!! The Applet I am trying to run,
will be run in an Intranet environment, and I don't
want to tell each user to go to the Control Panel and
change the Plug-in settings. Anybody can help me??
    Thanks in advance

Hey, I am not too sure what you meant with deploying the plugin without a
internet connection. Although, I will show you how I have done it through a
    intranet connection. First of all:
The plugin is saved on the webserver on a specified folder. Say in my case,
    e:\InetPub\wwwroot\Process\j2re-1_4_0-win.exe
and then the webpage carying the applet looks like this:

  • Failed Camera Raw Plug-In Install

    Hello,
I was running CS3 off my old MacBook Pro with no problems for years.  Just got an iMac and installed the program, Updater wants to install Camera Raw 4.6 but fails about halfway through with no explanation.  I tried following the manual workaround but the directory path the instructions say should be there is not there - there is no Plug-Ins folder as it stands.
My camera is covered by the 4.3.1 update, but I have the same directory problem there with the manual install.  If I try to open the file directly Photoshop does not recognize the format.
Is there something with the new Mac OS that prevents Camera Raw 4.6 from working?  I'm lost.
Old computer: MacBook Pro running OS X 10.5.8
New computer: iMac running OS X 10.6.8
    Camera: Nikon D300
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think you've hit on something. I just checked permissions and although I'm logged in properly and the permissions window shows that my sign-in name can read & write, it also says that I can read only. We had a power outage the other night and today's the first time I've used LR since then. I store photos on an external drive and I suspect the permissions got screwed up because of the outage.
If I can gain access by fixing the permissions I'll let you know and mark your answer as "correct".
    Thanking you with fingers crossed.

  • CS6, Ikegami MXF NOT Supported In Prelude & AME With Plug-In Installed?

    Hi all,
The curse of the Ikegami MXF strikes again!  Just installed CS6 including all of the latest Adobe updates which are so far so good.  I love a lot of the new features though I haven't  had much of a chance to get to any nitty gritty editing at this point. I am especially excited about Prelude!
I also purchased the corresponding latest version of this plug-in:
    http://www.mainconcept.com/products/apps-plug-ins/plug-ins-for-adobe/t otalcode-cs-5-6.htmlhttp://
...which allows PPro to package the Ikegami MXF files for import through the Media Browser.  I assumed the plug-in would translate to Prelude and AME as well to ingest/import Ikegami MXF properly.  Initially I tested it only in PPro, which was successful, and went back today to perform various transcode tests in the hopes of having to only purhcase one pricey plug-in license rather having to purchase three in total.  Unfortunately Prelude does not seem to recognize the plug-in...Here's a screen shot of the media browser in PPro vs. Prelude.
I also attempted to import straight into AME to attempt an Ikegami transcode.  I was pretty positive that method would not work, and I was correct.  AME crashed when a single Ikegami MXF video file was imported.
Please tell me this is an issue/bug? that can be fixed! Or my enthusiasm that Prelude will be the solution to my CatDV/Ikegami incompatibility will be deflated...I really don't want to be forced into a situation involving the tedious workflow of exporting/transcoding individual Ikegami clips out of PPro to be used on our other two editors and/or having to battle with a tightening state bureacracy for money to purchase two more expensive Total Code licenses...

    Zac,
I have contacted MainConept per your request, but I will also mention here that I have not been able to re-create the AME crash as noted at the start of the thread.  Total Code does work was promised within AME, but Prelude is still left hanging.
While Prelude does not provide video previews/playback/scrubbing of Ikegami MXF like the Media Browser in PPRo does, it will sucessfully transcode, what appears to be a video only file, into a sucessful self-contained video clip with the appropriate associated MXF audio.   The successful transcodes from Prelude led me to believe that to some degree Prelude recognizes the Total Code plug-in even though the key feature of Prelude, video playback, is inaccessible.  Though this quote from MainConcept says otherwise.
"What made you thinking that the TotalCode Importer probably was used because you were able to export Ikegami footage from Prelude is caused by the case that Prelude deals with pathes for that purpose. It doesn't need an importer for that."
I am hoping to utilize Prelude at the start of every edit session to selectively edit which files from a camera media card, including Ikegami GFPaks, will be copied/transcoded to their final storage location prior to editing, as Prelude is designed to do.
Another Prelude observation is that user presets created in AME, including some created using third-party plug-ins like UT and GoPro Cineform, are accessible in the transcode options within Prelude, while any Total Code based user presets created in AME are not visible in the Prelude transcode options.
I have a good feeling that now this conversation has been initiated bewtween the three parties that a solution will be reached! Finger crossed!
    Thanks again,
    Lindsay
