Plug-in missing, please help identify

Hi, I'm trying to view a friend's wedding and cannot contact the web page designers to find out the name of the plug-in I need, can anyone out there help? Below is the message displayed when I try open the web page in Safari
The page “Wedding Videos - Wedding Videos” has content of MIME type “application/x-oleobject”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.

Try using Firefox instead of Safari, and install the following two free plugins:
1. Flip4Mac quicktime plugin
2. MediaWrap firefox plugin
The first will allow Quicktime to play back Windows media files (which is what you've got here), and the second interprets the "application/x-oleobject" MIME type and invokes Quicktime appropriately. (On a PC, the type "application/x-object" invokes an ActiveX control, which is a piece of Windows binary code.)

You might be viewing the PDFs in your browser only where Adobe Reader plug-in is disabled.
Please try opening the PDF file using Adobe Reader and then check.
Let me know in which browser are you trying to view the PDFs so that I can help you out enabling the required plug-ins.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. (this was already sugested) There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

My iPod Classic 160GB is not recognised on iTunes - it says that there is no iPod found? When its plugged in! Please help

iPod classic is not recognised on iTunes. My iPod screen is flickereing constantly - from upside down to the right way around. It wont even show up on my iTunes. I plug it in to my MacBook and it gives me the option to restore but then once Ive clicked it says that 'it cannot be restored as there is no iPod found' when it connected and it says so on my iPod screen. Tried resetting the ipod and its enabled to be used as hard disk on itunes.
I assume you mean the "Enable Disk Use" option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab?

IBooks author: Can't open the file because "index.xml" is missing, please help!,

A project that I was working on yesterday and I didn't close it, today when I wanted to work on it and opened a new page there was a huge X on the page so I decided to quit ibooks then reopen it, saved all my changes first of course, but then when I tried opening it literally 10 seconds later it says the index.xml file is missing, this is my technology project due tomorrow please help!

This or a simmilar problems arose just after the last iBA update. There is a very long thread dealing with this.
I had a similar problems and nothing cured it until I contacted support and they gave me a link to upload to their server, they repaired my file and I downloaded it.
It actually took from start to finish about 2 weeks.
I "huge X" on any page usually indicates an image or similar content is missing.
The usual suggestions are to close everything down and do a re-boot.
I suggest a search of this forum for the thread may be an idea. Try this

If you make a copy of your book file and change .iba to .zip, you can open the file and check if the index page really is missing.

All Facebook friends profile pictures are missing, please help?

All of my Facebook friends profile pictures are missing as well as mine. I can see all the photo's that they post to there wall but the little profile pictures are missing?
I have heard that this has been an issue for some!

to use in imovie and i started going through and

duplicated photos and was putting those in the trash.
i then emptied my trash. then when i went to open
iphoto again, it was like the first time i was using

any of my photos! where could they have gone?! how
could my entire library have disappeared? is there

Fonts are missing, please help

I just got a new laptop and when I installed Photoshop Elements onto it, all my favorite fonts were missing. I had PSE on my old laptop and it had almost twice as many fonts as this one does, but I never downloaded any extras. I don't know how to get them back. Can I download them? Please help!

I am new to this forum and new to using Photoshop Elements 9 so I have a few questions of my own. I think I do know about fonts and where they are stored/located. Seems like you used the fonts that were installed on your computers under windows>fonts so they were available to all software on your computer. If you did not make a backup of those font's I'm afraid you will have to find them one by one again and install them on your new computer.
You either buy them or download them from the internet (free fonts) and put them in the appropriate directory. Go to START > computer > C (if that is where windows is installed) > fonts.
If there's fonts you install for use in Photoshop only, I have yet to learn about that.

Please help identify Unknown hardware

Can someone please help me to identify a peice of hardware. On The front it says Digital Data Storage, there is the number 3 as well and underneath it says model # 611. I know its a type of storage device but i cant find any documentation. If someone could help i would be very grateful

It is a DDS3 tape drive in a type 611 chassis shell.
If I recall correctly, that chassis shell is also referred to as a Unipak.
You could use if for making backups of your filesystems.
It will be a Single-Ended SCSI device, so you'd need a SCSI adapter card to make it work.
The mechanical components of the tape drive were actually from HP.
(there are only two or three tape drive manufacturers, who make them for everyone)
Each DDS3 tape cartridge can hold approximately 12GB of information; more if file compression software is used.
I cannot give you links to Sun references for that entire assembly,
access to that portion of the SSH requires a service contract,
but <u>this link is for the drive mechanism</u>, itself.

HP mini model differences? Basic buyer info missing -- please help

Ok, so I want a gray or black model in the UK, and it's narrowed down on the HP website to:
HP Mini 210-4160ea PC (B1E15EA) 320 pounds

Problem is the technical specifications for them are identical. What is the difference? Searching the internets leads to lots of different contradicting information about missing bluetooth / microphone jacks / integrated wifi...

The apps mentioned cannot be missing as they are a part of iOS.
Search all homescreens and folders, they are there somewhere.
If you are still unable to find them, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Homescreen Layout. They should be findable via a Spotlight search if the Settings app is not viewable on the homescreen.
Alternatively, restore the device as new.

In AS01 - Depreciation Area text description is missing - Please help!!!!

We are encountering a wierd issue in SAP which we are unable to resolve.
When executing transaction AS01 to create an asset, under the Deprec. Areas tab, the Depreciation Area text description is missing. The areas are all there but only the text description is missing   This is only missing when logged in SAP using Portuguese language, All other languages have descriptions available.
We ensured that we loaded descriptions while logged in SAP using Portuguese language. So while logged in under the Portuguese language, The descriptions for dep. areas where loaded using SPRO under "Define Depreciation Areas" IMG task.

Haha I figured it out. I just gave up to easily.
I did not populate the short description for Depriciation Areas.   It the short text field which was driving all the other descrption fields in SAP tcode transactions like AS01.

I updated to the new version of iTunes, and now my iPod Touch 4th generation won't turn on. I've reinstalled iTunes numerous times, but my iPod doesn't show up and it's plugged in. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so confused. I've been all over the support site and I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes at least 3 times. - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on anoterh computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.

I recently transfered my daughters first b-day photos from my Canon 20D, into iphoto. The photos were all there I even viewed them as a slide show. A few hours later I was going to import some new photos into iphoto. I noticed even though the camera was not hooked up there was a button that said import. I hit the button to import but I noticed it was importing the old photos again from the b-day party. I hit cancel, hooked up my camera and imported my new photos in. At first the b-day photos showed up in the small thumbs, but when I tried to open them in larger view the photo were gone and instead a grey dotted outline showed up with an exclamtion point. I tried to transfer the photos to a disc but they would not transfer. I looked at the iphoto library and the photos are not there.
I did receive a message saying my scratch disc was full. So I clean off some space on my hard drive, then I held down the option and the keys and restarted iphoto. It just got rid of the greyed out photos all together. I also tried removing the iphoto library and rebuilding it, but that did not work.
Iphoto had recently been doing some weird things like not putting the 2007 photos in the library folder.
Please help!!!!

How did you 'transfer' the photos from your camera? It sounds as if you may have downloaded them into another folder, maybe something set up by the camera just for viewing, but not yet imported into iPhoto. That is why iPhoto was still saying 'import.' The photos needed to be imported into iPhoto. You started the process, got some of the thumbnails, but did not get all the photos. Did the second set of photos import ok? Did you import them differently?

These are for trying to locate and restore iPhoto. Your problem may be simpler. It sounds as if the photos never made it into iPhoto. You could do a search for all jpegs and see if you can locate your photos, then open iPhoto and drag them into it.
Have you deleted the photos from your camera already?
I recommend that you do not do this, delete them manually afer you are sure that they are in iphoto.
Obviously, if the photos are still in your camera, you can just reimport them.
You should use ImageCapture (applications) for downloading. It is an app that reads your camera and puts up thumbnails of all the photos for you. You can choose which ones to download and what folder to put them in. I usually name the folder what I want the roll name to be and put it on my desktop. Even though iPhoto opens and says it is ready to import, ignore it for now.
Then, choose 'download' from the ImageCapture window. After the photos are downloaded to the desktop folder, I close ImageCapture, disconnect my camera and then drag that folder into iPhoto.
If the photos are not in your camera, you may still be able to recover them from the memory card of your camera.
