Plug-in not recognised CS5
I am updating my CS3 plug-in to CS5. I have it all compiling and linking but when I put the plug-in into the plug-ins folder and launch InDesign CS5 (Mac) it get an alert that says "Adobe InDesign does not recognise Elateral.InDesignPlugin as a valid plug-in. Please reinstall the Elateral.InDesignPlugin plug-in and restart InDesign.". Is there some new resource that I need to add or a new setting or a new callback I need to implement? I have put a break point in SDKPluginEntrypoint.cpp at IPlugIn* GetPlugIn() but it does not break which suggests that the runtime linkage is not working and the plug-in is not even being loaded. Any suggestions?

The Folders in your last post are part of the differences between CS3/4 and CS5 I was talking about. I asume it's the same game on Mac as on Windows.
Just generate a new project with dollyxs and add your source files to the project. The Folders you listed should then be created automatically.
As i wrote the other way is to modify your project file according to SDK samples. If you do that those folders should be created at time you compile the project too.

I understand why it's a painful process.
If a developer is making Mac-only software, and already using XCode, then making a unibin version is not too painful (ranging from trivial to a little bit of work).
However, if you're a large cross-platform company using a different compiler, you may have to completely change a development infrastructure you've built up over years, redevelop all your custom tools, and find solutions to the cross-platform issue, before even writing any code - and that can be a very big deal indeed.
The real point is that the customer should be aware of these things before making any critical decisions...

That is correct. The Nikon D800 RAW NEF requires ACR 6.7 or newer and you need at least CS5 to use ACR 6.7. You need to download the 8.6 DNG convert and create DNG files for NEF files to use CS4. Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras

You can only have one version of ACR anywhere in your installation. If you have two, it won't work. Look for the version(s) you have installed in Photoshop under the Photoshop menu > About Plug-In:
Your camera has been supported ever since ACR 6.7 and CS5 can run ACR 7.1 (but not any higher version of ACR).
The only correct path for the plug-in in CS5 is as follows:
Very wide image: click on thumbnail for larger view.
NOTE that the path starts with the ROOT LEVEL Library, the one right after the name of your boot drive, not your user or Home Library.

i tried to update my ipod but then it didnt work saying that an unknown error has occured, now itunes is not recognising that an ipod has been plugged in and the picture that comes up when you first get it (an arrow leading to the itunes sign) is on my screen, i dont know what to do?

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Tried TS1 363 still not recognised.
Your USB ports do not supply enough power to charge the iPad. That is normal and expected behavior. The iPod does not require nearly the same amount of power to recharge so it will work from your computer. Use the power adapter and plug into a wall socket to charge the iPad.
Are you sure that iTunes doesn't see the iPad? If you are running iTunes 11, from the menu at the top go to View>Show Sidebar. After the sidebar is enabled - do you see the iPad under the Devices heading in the sidebar? -
iPod classic is not recognised on iTunes. My iPod screen is flickereing constantly - from upside down to the right way around. It wont even show up on my iTunes. I plug it in to my MacBook and it gives me the option to restore but then once Ive clicked it says that 'it cannot be restored as there is no iPod found' when it connected and it says so on my iPod screen. Tried resetting the ipod and its enabled to be used as hard disk on itunes.
I assume you mean the "Enable Disk Use" option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab?

my iPhone 4 will no longer charge. It is also not recognised in iTunes. There seems to be a problem with the connector slot. I've tried other cables and other computers/plugs but the connection is not being made. Any suggestions?

Old laptop died, got latest itunes on new laptop and recovered all music from external hard drive but ipad2 not being recognised as a device when plugged in so can't sync? Do i reset my ipad2?!!!! Its only taken 7 months to get to this point.

Plug-in for Canon iPF8400 not recognised in Photoshop CC 2014. Lost Topaz and Nik Software as well.
I have just updated to Photoshop CC 2014 and lost the plug-ins for Canon iPF8400 printer, Topaz Labs, and Nik Software. I had been asked if I wanted to migrate plug-ins and said yes. I have dropped the plug-ins into the Photoshop plug in folder but they are note being recognised.
Similar problems here with Topaz Labs plug-ins.
Unfortunately I have now uninstalled Photoshop CC so the option of copying them into Photoshop CC 2014 is no longer viable and Photoshop CC 2014 simply does not recognise them.

yes after I imported my .cr2 raw files into new catalog it started to work. Windows 7 still does not recognize them but I can edit them as you said within the Lr5.6 and then export them into .psd or .dng files...as needed.
I bought Lr5 only because I got present - my new camera Cannon 70D and because my older Photoshop CS5.5 raw plugin does not recognize. cr2 files.

While updating the iPhone 5 software from 6.1.3 to 6.1.4, the power failed. iTunes had just finished the backup and was beginning the software update. Now the phone screen says to connect to iTunes but the phone is not recognised when plugged in. Using Windows 7 and phone not recognised by computer, let alone by iTunes.
Any suggestions? Happy to take it off to the the Apple genius people but would prefer to get it running myself.

Sometimes this happens, because the camera is not properly charged. In that case connect the camera to a charger or use a card reader. -

If you have one of the newer iPod's it could mean the service pack is not up to date on Vista/XP
To check your service pack, right click on My Computer and click on Properties.
Vista should be service pack 2, and XP service pack 3
iTunes HAS to be updated to iTunes 10 or later
If it is not a new iPod, you could have to update your USB drivers

If none of those resolve the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes
