Plug in Shuffle the 1st time but unable to connect correctly

Hi,
Last night I plugged in my new iPod Shuffle (friend bought in the Summer of 2008 but never had chance to use it or even open the box) to my MBP (summer 2007 version). Strangely, no Setup Assistant showed as indicated in the manual, neither did iTunes. Instead, a message pop up telling me my USB PORT POWER LOW so it was unable to operate the device. ?! (I was able to use mouse and 160g external HD with those USB ports, though)
It only blinks orange non-stop, and after 10 mins probably, my computer showed a black-window asking me to force re-start my computer. I tried it again after powering on my computer, but same thing happened. I tried to run disk utility and software updates - both couldn't work until I unplugged my Shuffle.
After multiple tries, I finally saw the iPod shuffle icon in iTunes, letting it fully charged, and started loading music. Listening to the Shuffle without my computer is fine, but when I plugged it back in my MBP to get more songs this morning, same orange-light-blinking situation happened. I unplugged it and plugged it back in after restarting my computer, ahh, all songs in Shuffle disappeared!! Until now I still couldn't get it to work when Shuffle's plugged in to my computer. iTunes can't detect the device, orange light blinking continues......
Is this normal?! Thanks for all your help in advance!!

I have my Airport set up to be able to remotely connect.
Explicit setup info will help.
How are you going to remote connect to this airport..ie are you accessing it directly ie AFP link over internet, .. or via BTMM over iCloud?
What is the setup of the Airport.. extreme??
Is it the main router in the network? What kind of broadband? Could ISP be blocking the port?
Is it behind a company firewall?
I also have another TC at home and is able to connect to it anywhere. No problem.
So is this using the same method of remote connection?
Home is much easier for BTMM and iCloud as you don't have the protection a company system will have.

Ok, so this is a dumb question but i just got my macbook pro about 30min ago and don't want to mess anything up! I already plugged it in to charge and i turned it on and its ready for the set up process but i cant do it until i get home. is there a way to shut down the computer and just set it up later? its at the first step to select my launguage and country. right now its just in sleep mode, should i just leave it like that until i get home tonight and am ready to install and set up everything? i tried pressing the power button again but nothing happened.

Help please - have a Nano and a Shuffle and neither are working! The Nano wheel appears to have stopped working - I can't get it to do anything. I've done the reset,it worked the first time but not since. And the shuffle won't sync with my library!

I have an iPod shuffle 4th generation and an iPod Nano 5th generation . The Nano wheel appears to have stopped working - I can't get it to play or anything. I've done the reset and it worked the first time, but now the only way I can get it to play anything is to shake it and go with the shuffle choices - I can't change volume, song, pause or turn it off.
So, I decided to start using the Shuffle which I was given as a present last year. I've plugged it into my laptop (running windows 8 and newest version of iTunes). It appears in iTunes on the left hand side, but when I click to sync (whether I tick sync all or choose artists) it says synched but has no music. It seems to not be linked to the music library - when I tick synch all songs, next to the "sync music" it says 0 songs?
Any help to fix either would be really appreciated - I'm without any music at the moment and I'm going away this weekend!

You don't need to upgrade your software. But if you're struggling with Spry, IMO you should cut your losses and switch to something better for the longrun.
If you have a budget to work with, I highly recommend Project Seven's Pop-Menu Magic 3. It's easy to use in DW CS4, 5, 6 or CC. More importantly, it's bullet proof and works in all devices.

I regret that you're having trouble setting up your email, corbad! You're on the right track with your incoming email address. You might also try incoming.verizon.net or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net as possible alternatives, and 995 as the port number. Please let me know how that goes!

Deploying iTunes and plugging an iPhone for the 1st time

Hello everybody,
I'm going tu upgrade iTunes to 9.2.1 on a feew weeks for the entire park.
I enabled the parental control to doesn not allow the acces to the Apple store.
I put the ipsw file on a network share.
So when iTunes will be deployed I will send a mail with the procedure, how to upgrate the iOS.
Here is the problem :
There are a lot of people who haven't synced their iPhone with iTunes.
So when they will plug for the first time their iPhone to the computer, iTunes will ask to register. So they will have to click on "Ask later". After that, an erreor occurs "problem to acces to iTunes Store" : that's noral because there is no access to the iTUnes store.
When we click on OK, at this time, finaly, we are on the main screen, and start the upgrate.
So there is the question :
Is there a way to skip all the introduce screen when an iPhone is plugged for the 1st time to a computer, and have the main screen directly?

'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE' takes more time for creating material document for the 1st time

Hi Experts,
I am doing goods movement using BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE in my custom code.
Then there is some functional configuration such that, material documents and TR and TO are getting created.
Now I need to get TO and TR numbers from LTAK table passing material documnt number and year, which I got from above used BAPI.
The problem I am facing is very strange.
Only for the 1st time, I am not finding TR and TO values in LTAK table. And subsequent runs I get entries in LTAK in there is a wait time of 5 seconds after bapi call.
I have found 'BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE' takes more time for creating material document with similar issue, but no solution or explanation.
Note 838036 says something similar, but it seems obsolete.
Kindly share your expertise and opinions.

The other idea is not to commit each call, but executing commit of packages e.g. after 1000 BAPI calls.
But otherwise, I am afraid you can not do a lot about performance of standard BAPI. Maybe there is some customer enhancement which is taking too long inside the BAPI, but this has to be analysed by you. To analyse performance, just execute your program via tr. SE30.

Quality Inspection for the 1st time Receive of Batch

Hi all.
My requirement is just to do the quality inspection when the Batch(MCHA-CHARG) is received in the first time in MIGO.
No quality inspection is required for next & consequtive goods receive for the same batch.
for the 1st time receive, the stock will go to quality inspection stock for any batch of a material. From the next time , the stock will go directly to unrestricted stock without quality inspection. is it possible? plz advice.

Hi Pabi,
I am not sure if this will help you, but here are the three options that you might want to consider:
- Source inspection. The idea here is that an IL is created for a purchase order prior to GR. All subsequent receipts for this PO can be configured to skip inspection.
- Control if insp. lot in material master (insp. set-up). In this case, the system will not create new insp. lot, if there's already one open for the same batch - it will merely add the qty of the new GR to the same open insp. lot.
- With dynamic modification you can let the following receipts of the same material from the same vendor to go without QI, but you can't fine-tune it by batch.
I know this is not the same what you want, but I can't recall at the moment a function that will satisfy your requirement exactly.

Battery charging for the 1st time

I have bought a new nokia E51 & wanted to know whether is it necessary for the 1st time to charge the battery for 8-10 hours continuously. So, that the battery could get a long life.

It says nothing about the first charge but I advise you just charge it untill it is full and unplug the charger
and for the rest of the battery's life Here's what they have to say:
Avoid frequent full discharges because this puts additional strain on the battery. Several partial discharges with frequent recharges are better for lithium-ion than one deep one. Recharging a partially charged lithium-ion does not cause harm because there is no memory. (In this respect, lithium-ion differs from nickel-based batteries.) Short battery life in a laptop is mainly cause by heat rather than charge / discharge patterns.
Batteries with fuel gauge (laptops) should be calibrated by applying a deliberate full discharge once every 30 charges. Running the pack down in the equipment does this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate and in some cases cut off the device prematurely.
Keep the lithium-ion battery cool. Avoid a hot car. For prolonged storage, keep the battery at a 40% charge level.
Consider removing the battery from a laptop when running on fixed power. (Some laptop manufacturers are concerned about dust and moisture accumulating inside the battery casing.)
Avoid purchasing spare lithium-ion batteries for later use. Observe manufacturing dates. Do not buy old stock, even if sold at clearance prices.
If you have a spare lithium-ion battery, use one to the fullest and keep the other cool by placing it in the refrigerator. Do not freeze the battery. For best results, store the battery at 40% state-of-charge.

No. Quit and try again. If that fails again,
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
