Plug-in update ACR 6.4.1

Whan selecting "Edit in" option to edit a DNG in Photoshop CS4, I get the prompt, "This version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in v. 6.4.1 for full compatibility. Please update the Camera Raw plug-in using the update tool available in the Photoshop help menu".
I carried out that update, but the prompt continues.
I have LR v. 3.4.1 installed, and the "About" screen shows that ACR 6.4.1 has been installed.
I have PS CS4 v. 11.0.2 installed. PS Plugins display shows ACR 5.7.0.213, despite my having downloaded and installed 6.4.1. On selecting Help | Update, I'm getting the message, "There are no updates available at this time".
It appears that ACR 6.4.1 did not get installed into PS CS4. Just to be sure, I again closed both LR and PS and installed the plug-in. Installation took less than a second. PS "About | Plug-ins | ACR" screen is unchanged.
Is there a way that I can force ththe installation to happen?

ACR 6.4.1 does not work with CS4. See this list:http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408941.html

  • Unable to update ACR 7.3 to 7.4

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to update ACR from 7.3 to 7.4 (Lightroom 4.4 asks me to do) to use it into Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
I download the update from the Adobe servers (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5568).
I run the installation program. Everything looks alright… Done. Ok. But…
    But Photoshop doesn't think so…:
I've tried some more times, but nothing changes.
    What's wrong?
    Thank you in advance.

The phrase “Adobe Camera Raw” is ambiguous.
We users tend to use ACR to refer to the PS plug-in back from when there was only a plug-in, no DNGC and no LR, but the description does not say plug-in.  The “and” in the Product description suggests both the plug-in and DNGC are part of the package, it since it does not actually say Plug-in, it isn’t necessarily wrong, just confusing due to the ambiguity.
In any case, what you downloaded is just the DNG Converter although I would agree the product description along with the past practices suggest both the plug-in and the converter could be in the package.
The ACR plug-in is not supposed to be downloaded, anymore—Adobe has not provided links to it with either of the last two or three ACR-plug-in updates.  You are supposed to only use Updates… from within Photoshop to get the updated ACR plug-in.
Adobe has not given a precise reason why they’ve disallowed downloading the plug-in, and have informally supplied links in the blog, but you cannot download the ACR plug-in from the traditional places, such as:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
It’s possible this change is due to Apple Store or Creative Suite evolutionary pressures, or just some new upper-management idea to reduce phone calls.

  • FireFox 3.6.8 & ThunderBird 3.1.2 check for updates never connects, nor does plug-in update or get plug-ins

FireFox 3.6.8 & ThunderBird 3.1.2 check for updates never connects, nor does plug-in update or get plug-ins
    I am doing several re-installs.
I installed FireFox 3.6.8 and ThunderBird 3.1.2 on a fresh install of Windows XP Home SP3 x32.
All Windows updates and IE8, etc were done first after the WinXP install.
    IE8 works fine.
Firefox can connect to the internet to view webpages, but NOT do a check for a newer version.
(by going, on the main menu at the top, to Help --> Check for updates...)
    Neither can Tbird.
    See screenshots below.
Neither Tbird nor Firefox will complete the add-ons check nor updates nor 'Browse All Add-ons' feature.
(by going, on the main menu at the top, to Tools --> Add-ons --> Get Add-ons {upper left} or Find Updates {lower right for any of the selections})
Another computer, same 'build' (different hardware, but WinXP SP3, etc) using a connection from the same router going out to the internet works fine, so it is not an overall connection problem outside of the individually affected computer.
There is not yet any anti-virus nor firewall, etc installed that could be blocking things, except for Windows built in firewall, and there is no blocking action showing. Disabling it did not solve the issue.
6 hours of searching has not found an answer. Trying some of the search results just to see has not proven to be successful.
    Thanks.

    dianej,
Try this, go to tools, add-ons, extensions. if you have more than one (the latest) Java consoles, uninstall them. You only need the latest console and it should match the Java Platform in Plugins.
I had a VERY similar problem displaying weatherunderground. It would not display the pages correctly and I would get pages of errors that stated
"window.addEvent is not a function" I spent the last two hours fixing this problem. All I did was remove the 6.0.18, 6.0.19, 6.0.20 Java consoles from my 3.6.8 Firefox. After a FF restart, no more errors.
There should be more information in FF when you update Java. No one tells you that you should go in and delete the older consoles.
    Good luck
    Mick

I just downloaded and installed Photoshop cc and the Camera Raw version is not the latest one available,so now I can no longer open files from my Nikon D750!  Can I update ACR?
I have been using the new version of ACR with PS6 and have been able to open the D750 files, now I'm stuck.
    Thanks,

You were probably using the Release Candidate version of camera raw 8.7, which one gets from Adobe Labs.

  • "AuSpeechSynthesis" audio unit plug-in update for GarageBand for Snow Leopard?

I cannot open GarageBand and use it without this plug-in updated or an alternative solution. I get this error message:
"An error has occurred with an installed audio limit plug-in. GarageBand unexpectedly quit while trying to use the audio unit "AuSpeechSunthesis" by "Apple". This
    plug-in may require an update."
I've looked everywhere for an update. My computer won't accept the latest version of GarageBand.

Which version of GarageBand are you currently using?  And is your profile signature still valid? MacoS X 10.6.8 ?
Did you install any new software or update software, before this problem first occurred? Did GarageBand ever work for you?
The AuSpeechSynthesis plug-in is a standard plug-in, that is installed as part of the system in /System/Library/Components/AUSpeechSynthesis.component/.
If it should have become corrupted, you will need to reinstall the system.

  • Can you please tell me how to shut off the plug-in update checker?

I like to check plug-in updates from time to time on my own. The "plug-in update checker" that pops up simultaneously EVERYTIME I open Firefox is VERY annoying. Though I have tried, I can't figure out how to stop that from happening. It is so annoying that I have considered going back to using Internet Explorer which I do not like. Please help me disable, turn off, delete this feature. Thank you

You can go into your Audio Preferences and disable the UV bridge. There is also the option in the drop down menu next to the speaker icon that allows you to mute just the telephone audio. This would make it so just the VoIP audio is heard, but I believe the telephone audio is still recorded.
This sounds like you either need to disconnect the phone from your room or call into the phone bridge as a host/leader. Ultimately this is a function of your phone bridge, not Connect.

  • Elements 11 won't support RAW for Nikon D3300, no plug-in updates

Got a new Nikon D3300 and Elements 11 doesn't seem to support the file format.  I keep getting an error.  Tried to find a plug-in update but there is nothing for 11.  I need this fixed ASAP - what can I do!!??

Besides upgrading to pse 13, you could use the 8.6 dng converter to convert the 3300 nef files to dng copies, which pse 11 should then open.
(if you have windows xp, vista or mac os x 10.6, then you won't be to use the 8.6 dng converter or any dng converter that supports the nikon 3300)

  • 10.4, How to stop plug-ins update reminder, Windows fix does not work on Mac.

Need to get rid of bar across top saying plug-ins are not up-to-date. The "fix" posted for Windows does not work on my Mac. When I try for updates, none seem to install. How do I really find out if the ones I have are the latest available for my system? Everything seems to work OK as is. Could it be that my Mac is PPC and that there are plug-in updates that would work in 10.4 on Intel but not on PPC, and that FireFox cannot differentiate?

Setting the Boolean pref <b>plugins.hide_infobar_for_outdated_plugin</b> to <i>true</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page should hide that info bar.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at the top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean) or by double-clicking the line with the pref
*Preferences can be created via the right-click context menu: New -> String, Integer, Boolean

I am trying to update ACR in CS6 to take photos from Canon 6D.

ipad froze and shows itunes with plug while updating with iOS.

That message means that you have to restore the iPad using iTunes now. Something went wrong. This explains how to do it. Read it thoroughly before you start - and take note of the end of the article under Additional Information where it talks about using recovery mode. You might need to use it.

  • How do I update ACR from 7.1 to 7.4 ?

    Hi
I updated PSE from version 9 to version 11 just to get ACR 7.4 for my Nikon D7100 camera
Installation went smoothly. But I discovered Adobe does not include the latest ACR version. SO I have ACR 7.1 installed. Well, it does not support the D7100
Went to Help menu. Updates option is not highlighted. ???? Cant use it!!!  Why ? My product is installed and registered ???
Anyway, I went to the ACR download page. No ACR 7.4 alone but ACR with DNG. What the hell I took the last one. Version 8.1
Downloaded DNG 8.1 and installed it. Fine.  Well, I can start DNG alone but no ACR visible. Back to PSE 11: It still only sees ACR 7.1
Have I downloaded ACR when I downloaded DNG ?
Should I download it separately ? Where from ?
If I did download it, how do I make PSE 11 recognize ACR 7.4 is available?
Extremely frustrating evening: I hesitated upgrading to PSE 11 for months because of this type of problems. When I finally take the jump, it hits me in the face.

Here are the steps to install camera raw 8.1 manually.
    1. Download the 8.1 zip file
        http://swupdl.adobe.com/updates/oobe/aam20/win/PhotoshopCameraRaw7-7.0/8.1.79/setup.zip
    2. Extract the setup.zip by right clicking and choosing Extract All
    3. Double click on payloads then double click on AdobeCameraRaw7.0All-290513174249
    4. Extract the folder Assets1_1.zip
    5. in the folder Assets1_1 rename (right click) the 1003 to Camera Raw.8bi
    6. right click on the Camera Raw.8bi and choose copy
    7. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats and drag the old camera raw plugin to the trash, then
right click in the folder and choose paste
With any luck next time you go to open your Nikon D7100 files in pse 11 you'll have camera raw 8.1

  • Updating ACR to 5.5 Problems

I'm running PSE 7 on a 64-bit Vista  Laptop. I downloaded the new RAW Converter file. I followed the instructions in the readme file for installing on PSE 7, making what I believe the proper adjustments for 64-bit Vista which were not explicitly stated. I first ran the CameraProfiles.exe as directed. Then, after renaming the existing Camera Raw.8bi file, I copied the updated file to the following folder:
    C:/programs (x86)/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 7.0/Plug-ins/File formats
I then started PSE 7 and opened a RAW file, The file opened fine in the RAW Editor, but the Version was still 4.5, not 5.5.
When I closed the image, the thumbnail in the Organizer was replaced with a broken icon. The image still opens fine in the ACR, but no thumbnail.
I then noticed that there was a Win64 folder in the download that I failed to notice originally. I copied that version into the above location with essentially the same results, ACR 4.5 shown as version at the top of the RAW Edit workspace, and broken icon in the Organizer.
I tried to revert back to the original ACR 4.5 and still no thumbnail.
I have also used the Repair, Uptimize and Update Thumbnail commands to no avail.
I'm wondering if the labeling on the ACR 5.5 file is incorrectly stating 4.5?
Also,  am I vaguely rememmbering that the Organizer needs its own ACR file????
So I have to questions - How to install the new ACR (if I did it wrong) and more importantly, how to get my thumbnails back for those images I have loaded into the ACR Editor?
An Aside: I also have the trial PSE 8 loaded but have not done anything with updating or even looking at its ACR version - will do that now.
    Any ideas?
    TIA
    Don S.

You've got to move the old version entirely out of the folder (e.g. to your desktop), not rename it -- that's why the Organizer is getting confused.  Also, you need to use the 32-bit version, not the 64-bit version (since PSE is a 32-bit program).
So to clean up your PSE 7, move all versions of the plug-in (including in subfolders) to your desktop (or just delete them).  Then copy the downloaded Camera Raw.8bi file into the folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats\
See this FAQ for more details if you continue to have trouble:

  • PSE 11 update ACR w/no internet

I want to update to ACR 7.4 on a machine with PSE 11 and no internet. Can this be done? If so, could somebody please supply directions.
    Thanks.

    Go to location, C:/Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Plug-Ins/Elements 11/File Formats
You wll find the Camera raw plugin over there.
So download your plug-in somewhere else, and copy paste it in this folder.
<please do keep a backup of Camera Raw plugin present for future use>
