Plug-ins and components????? What does it mean?

Hi All,
Over the last few weeks I have been trying to download and burn movies, so I have downloaded loads and loads of codecs and plug-ins and all sorts trying to fix little problems. My question is what should I have just to play different types of movies and for burning dvds. I downloaded a new Quicktime so do I have all I need now or what do I require. Also I can never seem to download Windows Media Player, when it downloads and goes onto the desktop, I open it and an e-mail opens? What is that all about? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you

Some history of QuickTime:
Not long ago we all connected to the Internet using phone lines and software was much smaller in file size. QuickTime still uses a "component" download option even though it is now 100 times larger in file size than its ancestors.
When you come upon a QuickTime file via the Web the QuickTime browser plug-in "reads" the file to see if your machine has the required "parts". The plug-in redirects (automatically) to the component download page where a user can download can view a list of "suggested" components.
The browser plug-in isn't smart enough to point to the exact thing that is missing.
You don't want to willy-nilly download all of them. Some third party ones (not those offered by Apple) conflict with one another and cause further problems.
Two for us Mac users that help view most common formats are http://flip4mac.com (allows Windows Media Player formats to be viewed via QuickTime) and http://perian.org (for playing most AVI files).
You'll also need Real Player and Flash Player for those Web based formats. They are separate from QuickTime.

This error happens when I try to import into Dreamweaver. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that earlier.
I thought maybe it was because I had saved my image as a png. So re-saved as a svg, still get the error.
DO I have a setting is Dreamweaver CC that is wrong? Should I try this in Dreamweaver CS6? I might try that next.
Why is this program so difficult? I know Flash. I know After Effects. I can work the timeline part just great. It's always in the export that I have problems.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You don't need to do anything, you have chosen to back up to iCloud instead of iTunes.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

I shop for for apps on my ipod touch and when i plug my ipod into itunes and it says erase and sync what does that mean?

i normally shop on my ipod touch (because frankly i cant be bothered to plug it into itunes then shop! ) to shop for apps and song and etc. and because i have a wall charger in my room theres pratically no need to go the computer! so sometimes when im on the computer i want to use my ipod touch as well so i charge it on the pc.
well to cut the story short everytime i want to shop on itunes it comes up with this note that says "your ipod is synced with a different pc etc" then it comes up with erase and sync? so my question is what does syn mean? because im worried if i choose ok it would get rid of all my apps

Plug-ins and filters - what set to buy? FX Factory, Boris, Nattress, etc.

So I'm looking to buy a set of filters, i've checked some out through trials and worked with some at different jobs. I like Sapphire (although crazy expensive) and FX Factory seemed not bad. I will be using these with music videos, short films, etc...

what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what are you seeing the exclamation point? When you double click on a thumbnail?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

I am using a power adaptor that works for other items - shaver, phone etc. and they don't buzz - it's coming from the square white unit before it's connected to the computer so I don't want to then connect my mac incase it means there's something wrong. If you're using a converter that changes the voltage from the UK ~230V to say 120V, rather than just a converter to different outlet/plug/socket sizes - then that's likely the problem.
All the Apple power units I've seen are rated from 100V to 240V & do not require any sort of voltage converter, just something to let you plug it into a UK outlet (or an Apple cable/connector set). Many cheap voltage converters can cause buzzing as you've described.
Many supermarkets & hardware/general stores will sell the right 'adaptor' for a couple of £UK - I'd find one rather than continue with the buzzing.

Now it keeps saying that it is restored but there is still no music or video on it. And a new error is coming up that says "We could not complete your iTunes store request.The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."
