Plug - Ins for flash player 9?

I was told I needed to update the flash player so I clicked
on and uploaded Flash player 9 - I was able to install it but
everytime I go to a web page it tells me that
application/x-shockwave-flash a plug in is needed for this MIME
type and sends me back to the origional page where I downloaded the
flash player 9 from to begin with. It tells me that I should be
able to down load the plug ins from the site. HELP!!!!!! I even
tried uninstalling and reinstalling it to no avail.

when you uninstall you must make sure that all internet
browsers are closed and after uninstalling reboot your computer and
then install again and then reboot once more
hope this helps

  • Internet Plug-Ins: Adobe Flash PLayer 9

I thought I share this for all of you who were having the same problem I was with Safari failing to load pages incorrectly because it didn't have a certain plug-in related to Adobe Flash Player 9/Shockwave. Here's what I did:
Install Adobe player from the Adobe website and once it says the installation is complete (you should be back on the Adobe webpage that lists your new version in a box on the right hand side), there is a link above for a program called Adobe AIR. Click on it, follow all the prompts to install it, and if you let that install fully, your Adobe Flash Player should work. I don't know why the installation without AIr isn't the complete installation, but I decided to click on the AIR link and download it and from there my Flash Player works like new. I hope this is helpful.

Here's an addendum to my first post...
This is the page you should get to in order to fully install Adobe Flash Player:
    http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/about/index.html
That's the page that should have your version info on it and it should say:
    You have version 9,0,124,0 installed
On that page a banner ad will appear for Adobe Media player which will eventually stop animating itself and allow you to "Launch now' or 'Learn more'. Click on Launch now and follow the prompts to install it. If you install the media player, it should uniformly finish installing the Flash player. The Adobe AIR program is part of the installation if I remember correctly) but I do know that installing the media player should solve this (see below) error message when you get to pages that require Flash Player:
"The page has content of an unspecified MIME type. Because you dont have plug-ins installed for this MIME type, this content cannot be displayed."

  • Why does flash no longer work in viewing SnagFilms or Hulu under Safari Browser but still works for Netflix.  And, where can I receive directions on how to install the PPAPI Plug In for Flash Player for Maverick 10.9.4.

Until recently, I was able to watch both SnagFilms and Hulu within the Safari Browser successfully.  In both movie sites, I no longer get video and am asked to download Adobe Flash Player (which I already have 14.0.0.125) but my system indicates that Plug-In PPADI has not been installed?  Where to go to find this correct download?  When consulting with SnagFilms and Hulu, it was recommended that I download and watch in the Chrome Browser, which is successful.  However, I don't like the idea that I must run a second browser to do stuff on my Mac.  I don't have any issues with watching films under Safari within Netflix.  I am so confused.  What about the security issues with respect to running google products--do I need to be concerned if this is the only method for accessing my movie sites.

The problem is that your Flash Player is not current. Check this to see what the current version is (vs what you have) and here to get the latest version. There is supposed to be a major security issue in the version you've got so Apple is blocking its use. In any case, don't get Flash Player from anywhere except Adobe.

Keep getting "blocked plug-ins for Adobe Flash despite installing new version

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser, but check this also:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5655?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US  which also covers ‘blocked plug-in’.

  • Downloading plug-ins for windows media player

i'm a brand new mac user -- bought a macbook less than 24 hours ago. i have not been able to trouble shoot installing plug-ins for windows media player. if anyone can advise, i would be most appreciative.

Windows Media Player for Mac was discontinued more than a year ago by Microsoft. They recommend using the free Flip4Mac player <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/otherproducts/otherproducts.aspx?pid=windowsmedia >.
A good addition to your arsenal of media players would also be the stand-alone VLC Media Player <http://www.videolan.org/vlc/>. It's a Swiss Army Knife of media players.
    Hope this helps!

  • Missing extensions/plug-ins for Safari.

So, I recently had a virus/malware scare and to take care of it (which I did) I got rid of all extensions/plug ins for Safari.
I've currently only got Adobe Flash Player, and nothing else which is really hindering me. I've looked all over but I can't find out what the plug-ins or extensions I need are.
The most recent issue was something about Audio Midi when I couldn't play an audio thing online while looking for guitar chords stuff.
After that gave it a shot by asking Apple, but the closest Apple store is too far to be worth driving to and I can't afford $50 or however much it is to get the info/links/whatever I need.

There's no need to install Safari extensions if you don't wan to, however, there might want to check out the extensions gallery. You may find something useful.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Safari Extensions ...
To avoid malware, open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General
Make sure:  Mac App Store and identified developers  is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

  • EZedia Plug-ins for iMovie: Vol. 1 1.2.6

    Hi out there!
Anyone try using this plug in? .......eZedia Plug-ins for iMovie: Vol. 1 1.2.6
If so, how did you like it and did it work well with imovie? Was it user friendly? etc. etc.
    Thanks,

I doubt it, but you can never be sure when you're dealing with Windoze. I've never had a problem when I run Windoze using Virtual PC, but I also never use IE. If you do have a problem, you can always remove Flash player.

  • Are there new plug-ins for my PowerBook G-4 to allow me to see utube and other videos?

Are there plug-ins for me to view videos and Utube videos? I am unable suddently to view either. Help!

I did go to the website and downloaded the adobe-flash. I also read the "read me" but I'm not sure I understood exactly what to do. I removed the old flash-player in the Library/Internet Plug-ins folder and just put it on my desktop; not sure what really to do with it. Instructions said to back it up, but I don't know how to do that. Should I have trashed it??? Then I closed the browser (Firefox); reopened it and went back to the site to see if has been installed correctly (I guess no); couldn't see the video and tested it again at uTube.
When attempting to play a uTube video, it asked me what "player". Looked in the Apps folder to see what I had: Quicktime, Real Time, and Windows Media Player. None worked. I'm still at a loss. I'm not a savvy tech person, so I might need more instruction if you're willing to help Texas Mac Man (I'm in TX, too).
One more thing, to put in the new plug-in, I just did a drag and drop into the folder.
What have I missed? I appreciate your help very much. This is my first time on the Support Communities.

  • Is there any plan to create a HTML5 shell for flash player apps & interactive elements?

Is there any plan to create a HTML5 shell for flash player apps and elements? The canvas option is very limited and many apps & old, interactive flash elements no longer work on most mobile devices.

HTML5 is the "anti-flash", so to speak. It requires no plug-ins. HTML5 is MP4 which is QuickTime video. That's the "shell" for it.
Steve Jobs said in 2006, when iOS was first released, that "playing Flash content is processor consumptive and drains batteries in mobile devices, reducing their life." That's why Apple iOS devices have never been compatible with Flash, and also why Android dropped support for the technology in June of 2012.
Android has "Dolphin" and "Puffin" browsers, which render Flash content (video and animations) "server side" to reduce the load on mobile devices running Android. Likewise, Apple has "SkyFire" which works the same way, but is designed specifically for iOS.

  • Security update for flash player....did it install?

Yesterday on dec 16, I had a window pop up on my comp telling me that there is some security update for flash player so I clicked install and it was connecting and everything...then I allowed Adobe systems incorportated permission and all that stuff which was normal....then the adobe helper stopped working and I got a message saying that it will have to close the program......now I don't know...did the updates install or not...what were the security updates so I can check...any advice?

Hi, well DLM is Download Manager and sometimes it is used to D/L FP. It is supposed to disconnect after FP is downloaded. Go to Add/Remove, you should see Flash Player 10 ActiveX listed. If the Adobe Download Manager or DLM is listed Remove it from there and reboot. It is not supposed to be there after it serves it purpose.
The version is 10.0.42.34, I hope you just made a typo:-)
Also, if you are using IE, go to Tools>Manage add ons and look to see if you have listed Shockwave Flash Object......
ActiveX......Flash10d.ocx and that it is Enabled.  Be sure to check in "currently loaded" and "have been used".
In Firefox you would look in extenstions, add ons or plug-ins, look for SWF.
In order for FP to operate properly, you need the ActiveX in IE and the SWF plug-in in FF.
    Thanks

  • Microsoft HD Photo Plug-ins for Photoshop are Released

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hd_Photo
"HD Photo has been announced by Microsoft and the Joint Photographic Experts Group to be under consideration for a JPEG standard, tentatively titled JPEG XR.
"The HD Photo bitstream specification claims that "HD Photo offers image quality comparable to JPEG-2000 with computational and memory performance more closely comparable to JPEG", that it "delivers a lossy compressed image of better perceptive quality than JPEG at less than half the file size", and that "lossless compressed images are typically 2.5 times smaller than the original uncompressed data".
    http://blogs.msdn.com/billcrow/archive/2007/12/06/hd-photo-plug-ins-for-photoshop-are-rele ased.aspx
"HD Photo plug-ins for Adobe® Photoshop® CS2 and CS3 have been officially released for both Windows and OSX. They're available now from the Microsoft Download Center. [Links on this webpage]
"The Windows version is supported on Windows XP and Windows Vista, and works with Photoshop CS2 and CS3. While not officially supported, it will also work with limited features with older versions of Photoshop and with Photoshop Elements. The included README file has details.
For PSE6, I installed it to
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 6.0\Plug-Ins\HD Photo Plugin for Adobe Photoshop\
It works properly, as far as I can tell, for both Opening and Saving.
File size and processing speed seem consistent with the claims for the format.

Regular JPEG is capable of high definition (size) images.
The "HD" in "HD Photo" is a reference to the fact that the bit depth can
greatly exceed the 8-bit limitation of regular JPEG. That's primarily
of value in high-quality photo editing, and for archiving originals.

DVD player upconversion is no better than the upconversion built-in to
any decent HD TV; i.e., it's mostly just marketing hype.
