Plug ins have crashed...No video can be shown

Hello; Thanks for help pages. I updated my computer with software updates..now I get a message that PLUG INS have crashed...so I cannot play any videos. Firefox works on its' own though..going to Ebay and websites..but, PLUG INS have crashed. I have re-loaded the pages time and time again...Nothing works. Should I removed Firefox from my computer..and re- Install? Help! Thanks, Larry Risko NYC

There have been issues reported with the 13.0.0.182 version of the Flash plugin crashing on some older Mac computers due to the compiler generating incompatible code.
The only way to recover is to uninstall the Flash 13 version and revert to an older Flash version and wait for Adobe to release an update that addresses this issue.

Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but if you've reached the 5 computer limit then you can log into your account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.

I try to use video in JInternalFrame, but the frame rate is very bad ... so if you have solution... your are welcome.

After installing plug-ins, FCPX crashes, constantly.

I recently installed fxfactory plug-ins. After clicking on one during an editing session, FCPX started crashing. I have removed the FCPX preferences and attempted to use it again, with the same, crashing, result.
I was forced to use iMovie to complete the project that had been open when FCPX began crashing.
I have heard that fxfactory plug-ins are stable, but something seems to have gone awry in my situation.
How can I regain control of my FCPX software?

Trash your preferences. Repair permissions. Reboot. Hide all events and projects from FCP and then launch the application. Does it crash?
If yes, contact an Apple service technician. If no, close the app, trash the event render files. Put the events back where they belong. Launch the application. Does it crash?

FCPX cannot validate Ilok plug ins and crashes

FCPX can't validate the plug ins that are authorised on my Ilok. As a consequence when I go to access any of the standard effects in a project it crashes FCPX. I then have to boot by trashing the pref's and I can't access any effects at all.
Any ideas?

The solution is simple but but you might not like it ...
FCP is Audio Unit aware, and your Waves plug-ins are Audio Units and so are being loaded by FCP.
The only way to stop this from happening is to move the offending plug-ins out of the /Library/Audio/Plug-ins directory before you launch FCP ... of course, this then means you need to move them back in again before you use Pro Tools ... not too great :/
Manually, you could simplify this by creating shortcuts (aliases) to the folders on the desktop, so it would be easy to drag and drop between the two.
Or, if you're that way inclined, you could create an Automator action or AppleScript to do it for you.
Perhaps easiest would be to create two separate user accounts, one you use for Pro Tools and one for FCP. Install the Waves plugins in the Pro Tools user's ~/Library/Audio/Plug-ins folder, rather than the global one. Then just use Fast User Switching to switch environments.

FxFactory and NewBlue plug-ins are crashing in latest PP 2014 Update

Anyone else having a problem with their plug-ins after updating PP 2014. FxFactory and NewBlue are either crashing my system or I am getting strange digital
artifacting in my program window. Also my 4K footage is not playing any better w this latest update. Love the new interface and features but frustrated at all the bugs

hello Danagriz, unfortunately the plugin check page lags behind. adobe has released a critical patch for a vulnerability in its flash plugin, which is reportedly already exploited in the wild. therefore firefox will block insecure versions from running by default on websites for your protection.

in order to update java, go to java.com (or if you don't need the plugin you can also uninstall it though the windows control panel)

I am having the same frustrating problem, with Chrome, RockMelt and Chromium. They all repeatedly crash and I get the same banner that shockwave player has crashed. I have tried disabling one of the two shockwaves after typing about:plugins and that didn't work. It's not a problem in Safari or Firefox. I did type About:flash and got this which I will paste below in casethat is helpful.

Third Party Plug-Ins have disappeared on upgrade from CS4 to CS5

Hello Folks,
I have recently upgraded from PS CS4 to CS5 and now, on looking through the Plug-Ins available fromthe Menu - Help - About Plug-In --, I see that my 3rd Party Plug-Ins (NOT the Plug-Ins which had previously been installed automatically by CS4 and are now no longer installed by CS5 as a matter of course), such as Akvis / Bokeh / Imagenomic and many others, are no longer shown.
Has anyone else out there experienced the same problem due to this upgrade? If so, I would be grateful if someone could advise as to whether there is some solution readily available OR, is it a case of having to re-install the 3rd Party Plug-Ins one by one??
This did not happen when I upgraded from CS3 to CS4 - all my 3rd Party Plug-Ins made that transition quite successfully.
For information purposes, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate on a 32 bit system mode.

Yes it did. You just don't remember having to deal with it.
Photoshop does not ever install in the same folder as a prior version. Thus CS5 will not see the plug-ins that have been installed in or under the Adobe Photoshop CS4\plug-ins folder.
Thus you will need to install your plug-ins again, pointing them at the CS5 area. Some (as mentioned above) may need to be upgraded.

I checked and rechecked whatever I could think of to check. I have the security updates for my system and that got me to adobe and java. I redid adobe flash and before downloading rechecked specs to be sure I'd been correct earlier and crossed my fingers and downloaded/installed it again. So far, the multiple "blocked plug in" signs have retreated. I thank you very much both for the help and especially the support--I'm not so hot at trying the unknown (for me) on a computer even now! Am saving this for future use should I need it again.

Can't open Firefox any more. Shows up in processes but never activates. It was coming up yesterday but running at around 120k. Did my updates, tested my plug-ins, extensions, etc. but now can't even use it. Any suggestions?

Firefox was working fine but started having crashes this week. Concurrent with multiple problems I'm having with a new Brother printer with driver downloaded via Firefox. No viruses, no spyware, cleaned cache, deleted cookies - have done everything I can think of. And then today, can't even open Firefox though it does show up in processes at around 30K. Yesterday it was coming up at 100k+ when it was working but was very slow. For example, my email through AOL, it duplicated every email I opened, crippling the whole process. Turned off compatability mode - have done everything suggested via the Firefox site. If I have to reinstall it, is there a way I can save my bookmarks?

You could experiment with giving OBP the absolute path to that USB device, but I doubt you'll be successful. The Sunfire 280R (same hardware as the Sunblade 1000, Sunblade 2000, and Netra 20) design expected USB to be only for keyboard and mouse, not for any storage devices. If booting ever works manually from a USB stick, then you could create a custom alias for the device.
Try an experiment by using a CD or DVD of an older release of Solaris 10 instead of the current release.

The earlier ones need fewer hardware resources. I also recall a few forum posts that seem to suggest the bootblock structure on the CD's and DVD's of those earlier releases was more compatible with older hardware.

I recently helped where the person had re-installed their operating system. It had kept the newer Player application but had reverted to an earlier version of the underlying support framework that works with many applications. Re-installing Quicktime 7.7 took care of the problem.

Can't scan after moving ImportModules to Plug-Ins folder.

I purchased Photoshop Elements 12 a couple of months ago. At that time, I was able to scan images after moving the the ImportModules folder to the Plug-Ins folder. However, I had to reinstall Mac OS 10.3 after repairs were made. Elements would not scan. I uninstalled Elements and reinstalled it from the original disk. Then, I moved the ImportModules folder back over to the Plug-Ins folder. I still can't scan, which is one of the primary purposes of having this software. What is going on?

Yes, 10.9.3. I could scan before, but not after the repair. I can scan, now, with Preview, but not with PSE 12. I have two scanners: (a) Cano LiDE 210, and (b) CanoScan 2400F. Neither work now, but both worked before the repair and reinstallation.

What plugin and want Aperture and OS versions did you upgrade from?
In general if after an upgrade you have a problem like this you should check the developer sites for updated plugins designed to work with the new version of OS and Aperture.
