Plug ins screen says I need to update Java, and when I do I'm told the install was stopped
The Plug-Ins screen tells me I need to update Java. I click update and everything is fine until the install. I am told that 'the install failed because it was interrupted before it could be completed'. Java says that I am running the latest version, Version 7 update 51, but Firefox says I need to update. What gives?
Long story short, you do not need to update.

Updated to Yosemite, no problem. now iPhoto and iMovie won't open. Says I need to update software however, when i try to update indicates my User ID and PW won't work for these two pieces of software. User ID and PW works everywhere else.
I am having the same problem. I even changed my password and updated all of my security information. Now it just gives me an error and retry message, which of course also does not work. Went to support and was going to open a chat (seemed the simpler option) and received a message that my support has expired for this serial number unless I want to pay $29.00. So I chose the option to call later, which was the exact time suck I was trying to avoid. Why wouldn't the new operating system also update the apps that were already part of my old platform?

My phone will not let me download the most recent update for iOS 7.1. It says I need a wifi connection and will not allow me to push the 'Download & Install' button, even when I am at home and my wifi is on. How do I fix this?
Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.

My iTunes won't let me connect my iPhone because it says I need an updated iTunes, but when I try to download the new iTunes, it says that my Mac software (10.5.8) is too old. However, there are no software updates available. What can I do?
It depends on what iPhone you have.
If it's an iPhone 4S or earlier, click here.
If it's an iPhone 5, you need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and that requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB RAM.

i was listening to my ipod touch 4th g all day i stopped to do something and took the earphones out for half an hour and when i went to plug them back in they kept springing back out of the jack and when i finnaly got it in the noise was very crackely
Get another good pair of headphones and compare the plugs. Look for damage or differences. Maybe the end had broken off causing your problem. The try the other set in the iPod.

If your 4th gen says you need an updated iTunes then it's talking about the iTunes on your comptuer. For iOS7 you need at least iTunes 11 -

I have OS 10.5.8, Perian and Flip4mac wmv installed by apple at the store. I was having lots oF trouble so Apple replaced my keyboard, wiped my computer and reinstalled the OS and did all the Updates. They also added Flip4mac wmv player and perian. Everything worked great For a while but it's getting messy again. The lower case F has stopped working when I type online, but it works when I type otherwise. (Not sure iF that's related.)What is the GarageBand version that your friend is using?
If it is GarageBand '11, version 6.0.5, you can buy GarageBand '11 as a boxed retail version with the iLIfe '11 bundle, e.g. from Amazon.
Then you can upgrade GarageBand '11 to 6.0.5, using this upgrader from the Support page:

GarageBand 6.0.5 will work well with your system. But if your friend is using the newest GarageBand 10, this will not help. Then ask your friend to send you audio files for each track, so you can recreate the project from the audio. Or your friend could also use GarageBand '11 for the projects you want to share, that will run well in all newer MacOS X versions, even with GarageBand 10.0 installed on the same system.

Trying to update iphone 4 to IOS 7 says i need to update itunes and its already updated
Im trying to update my Iphone 4 to IOS 7 and it keeps telling me I need to update my Itunes I have the most current version of Itunes and that is as far as my update will take me...how do I get past this??

- restarted everything again. i synced my phone for the fun of syncing hoping that might help although i didnt have anything to sync but anyway now its reduced the time & said "8hours remaining" but in the space of 10minutes went up to "11hours remaining" seriously? please help .

Why does Firefox insist that I'm still using version 3.whatever when I have faithfully downloaded new versions when it tells me to do so -- most recently version 8.whatever (today). If "downloading" isn't enough and there's also an "install" step, I have yet to find anywhere in the Firefox that tells me how to do so. I have restarted my computer, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. It still tells me I'm using an outdated version that soon will not be supported.

This is the same as has occurred when prior versions were nearing their end-of-life. Support for Firefox 3.6 versions is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.

The only currently supported versions are 3.6.24 and 8.0.1. Thanks for the info. I checked and the version of Java on my Mac is 1.60_29 (20.4-b02-402), which is the latest version for OS X 10.6.8, correct? I also note that I have a pop-up when I go into email which states that my browser is blocking Flash, and I should upgrade to Flash 9. I think that my version is Flash 11, and the plug in is up to date. I note a similar comment from another user. I updated to Firefox 11.0 on March 16th. No other changes. Java plugin still reads update

iTunes only allows you to update to the latest iOS which is 5.0.1.
Disabling the computer's security software (firewall and antivirus) during the download and update usually resolves the problem.

Lightbox not working in Chrome on a PC
