My 120GB IPod classic is not recognized by my Windows 7 PC. When I plug the ipod into my computer I receive a message saying that the USD device is not recognized. The Device Manager lists it as an Unknown Device. I've tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, but it had no affect. The odd thing is that our other iPod (160 GB Classic) is recognized on the same computer using the same USB cable. When I plug the ipod in question into another PC, the PC seems to recognize the iPod and lists it in Windows Explorer (iTunes is not installed on this machine). There seems to be something out of wack with this PC/iPod combo. Any thoughts on what I can do to try to resolve this issue? Some of my songs are listed twice on my iPod itself. However, when I plug the iPod into my computer, the songs don't show up twice in iTunes when I click on device/music. How do I get rid of the duplicate songs on my iPod?

Are you syncing your songs right off of itunes itself? because it should be syncing over to the ipod however it is listed in itunes. -
I have an iphone 4s that is having display issues. If I turn the phone on, it vibrates to acknowledge it successfully turned on but the screen stays solid black. I can plug the phone into my computer and itunes will recognize the phone as well. However, itunes can not do anything with the phone because the phone is locked and I can not unlock the phone because the screen is black.

The screen does work though! Through trial and error along side a little troubleshooting, I was able to figure out that the screen will cut on after the phone dies completely. The phone has to die completely with no battery power left. Then if I plug the phone into a charge and wait a while for it to charge, the phone will turn on like nothing was ever even wrong with it. I charge the phone up to like 30% and turn it off then bam the phone turns on but the screen is solid black again.
I am currently in the process of waiting for the phone to die and when I turn the phone back on I am going to completely remove the auto-lock and lock code off of the phone for the time being.
Any other suggestions? Please help!Sounds like the device was dropped at some point and damaged as a result.
Take it to Apple for evaluation and a replacement. -

Try:
- Resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home

My iPhone 4s is stuck on a black screen that shows a USB cable connecting to iTunes. The phone will not turn on and the iTunes logo as I described only shows up when I plug the phone into the charger or my computer. I have tried the reset in restore mode as well as the DFU? mode and it still will not work. I have the latest version of iTunes on my Mac. My error code was 2002. I also tried it on my laptop (windows 8.1) and none of the above worked. My error code on my laptop was 02. The phone is through Verizon and it has absolutely no damage. It was working fine up until this and I have been trying to fix it for 2 days. Please help! I am unsure of what version the phone was currently running on before this because I have another iphone that's my primary phone and have not used this one in about a month. I do not believe it was updated to IOS 7.
Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

I have an IPhone 4 that turns off on its own. When I plug the phone into an outlet, it says to connect to iTunes. When i connect my phone to itunes, the screen displays the apple icon and doesn't connect to iTunes. I need to backup info on this phone so I can apply my back up to a new iPhone. Is there any another way i can do this? My older phone will not show it's connected to iTunes. I used iCloud on the phone with problems, but I didn't back up all the info thru iCloud. Is there another way to back up?
Sounds like your phone is in recovery mode. In this case, all data on it is gone. There's nothing to back up.

I saved docs from a iMac to a flashdrive but when I plug the flashdrive into an iBookG4 and try to open the docs on the flashdrive, I get this message: Doc 2 cannot be opened. The required index.xml file is missing. Does this mean that I can't use the info on the flashdrive with the iBookG4 or can I do something to get the required index.xml file?

You did install the latest iTunes (10.5) right? If the problem was that iTunes does not see the iPod try:

MY I4S PHONE CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DAY FOR NO REASON. IT WILL NOT TURN BACK ON UNTILL I PLUG THE USB INTO THE COMPUTER. THEN IT HAS "SEARCHING " AT THE TOP LEFT PART OF THE SCREEN. I am having a problem when I plug my iPod into my macbook. When I plug the cable into my mac I get the following message - "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, your USB device has been disabled." CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!
The rest of the message in the pop up window says "To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again."

When I plug the ipod into my computer it showes the normal "Do not disconnect" thing in the ipod... In windows it apears that I have connected a usb-device. But explorer, iTunes or iPod updater can find the device. Then I disconnect the iPod, but the ipod keep saying "do not disconnect". When I'm restart the ipod (select + menu) it works fine until I connect it to the computer

If i have Time Machine backed up on an external hard drive, do i just plug the drive into another macbook pro and all my stuff is in the new computer? Also, does it matter if the new computer is running Lion when the backed up info came from Snow Leopard 10.6.8?
No and Yes
Don't use TM for this purpose, clone your drive to an external, plug the external into another MBP and reboot from it. Please note that booting a machine that came with Lion may not be possible from a drive with Snow Leopard.
