Plugged in but AC light not coming on and laptop not turning on

I bought a Toshiba satellite p55w . I had it for a few months. I shut it down with full battery. 15 minutes later it won't turn back on. I plugged it in and the ac light isn't coming on

Unfortunately, I'd suggest you call customer support. It could require servicing.

    I dunno, that doesn't make any sense to me.
    I just shut down and rebooted into the SnowLeopard partition and took a peek at the preference panes.  There are only 3 that run in 32 bit only.  They are all 3rd party, and none of the prefpanes are non Intel.  Like I said, I have never owned a PPC machine.  Anyhow, SnowLeopard doesn't even have an iCloud prefpane, or a combined mail, contacts, and calenders prefpane, and the ML security and privacy prefpane is all new as well.  The software update prefpane is Intel and 64 bit in both SnowLeopard and Lion.
    As to the triple boot, unless I'm totally mistaken, what I have here is, in essence, 3 seperate descrete computers in one box.  All using the same hardware. but one at a time.  I wouldn't know how to get more than one running at the same time, without using a virtual machine, even if I wanted to.  (Which I don't)  I do sometimes transfer files from one to another using the shared folder, but other than that, they do not interact.  How could ML system preferences be trying to launch prefpanes from a totally different machine?

    My iPad is not even 6 months old but it will not turn on at all.  Could it be the battery?

    First thing to do is plug it into the charger that came with you iPad and plug that into a known good wall outlet. Let it remain plugged in for at least one hour before attempting to turn it on. If it comes on leave it plugged in until it is fullya charged. If it doesn't come on Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

    my power button is not working and my phone doesn't wanna turn on i've tried to charge it so it can turn on like i usually does but it's not turning on

    Hold down on the home button simultaenously holding on the sleep wake button (power button) hold it for more than 15 seconds this will then shut down the device.
    If the device is already shut off do this same sequence to see if you get an apple logo. If you get the logo allow the device to login. Write back if this does not resolve your issue.
    Good luck Friend.

    I have a new iPad Air and it is asking for my Passcode which I thought I knew , but it is not turning on with the code I tought I had entered?

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

    You may have to do this several times.
    Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

    ‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
    Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
    I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
    Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
    If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
  • My apple iMac was plugged into a GFI plug that tripped.  Reset breaker, but Mac will not turn on.  Checked outlet and it is working.  Is there a reset button I need to know about to be able to turn it back on?
    Is there a built in reset on an iMac that will not start?  Was plugged into a GFI protected plug, it triped. Reset GFI plug is working, but can not turn on my iMAC
    Paul's suggestion may work, but if the Hard Drive was writing when the power was cut abruptly, there may be data corruption, file index corruption or even physical damage to the drive as the read/write heads clash.
    If the SMC reset doesn't work, first see if the installation DVD can be inserted. If it can, start up with the C key held down. OK the language screen, ignore the installer and select the Utilities menu at the top of the screen, open Disk Utility. Select the HD in te left pane and click repair (not repair permissions).
    If you get a message that repairs were carried out, run the repair again until you either get "the volume xxxxx appears to be OK" or a message that repair can't be carried out.
    If it won't boot to the disc, or the disc can't be inserted, try a single-user mode boot - hold down ⌘ and S on start up until the Unix prompt appears.
    Type carefully this command
    fsck -fy
    then press return.
    As before, if the prompt reappears with the message that repairs were carried out, run the check again until you either get "the volume xxxxx appears to be OK" or a message that repair can't be carried out (and assume the latter if it hasn't given an OK within 4 tries).
    Type
    reboot
    and press return to attempt to start up normally.
    If it still won't start, it's fair to say the HD is dead.
  • Charger plugged in but battery is not charging but windows says it is charging.
    I have an HDX X18T-1100 CTO Premium Notebook 64bit with Vista Ultimate...I thought my battery was bad because when charger is plugged in the icon in system tray says" plugged in, charging" but it's not charging so I bought a new battery.  Same problem so I replaced the AC/DC plug in the computer....still the same problem... says batter at 7% (plugged in, charging) but it's not charging.
    Hi,
    This could well be a Hardware problem with the charging circuitry, but it may be worth trying the following.
    First of all, shutdown the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter, remove the battery, and then hold down the Power button for a full minute.
    Now, plug in the AC Adapter without the battery inserted, start the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager, expand the entry for Batteries, right click on and the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall - do not uninstall anything else here.  When the uninstall is complete, shut the PC down, unplug the AC Adapter, re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.  Windows will reinstall the missing driver soon after logon.  Leave it to idle for a few minutes, then restart again to see if this has helped the issue at all.
  • S10-3c - HDD lights not turn on.
    hi, my netbook have the problem as stated. there was no bios startup or else, only blank screen. the power indicator and the other lights on but the HDD light not.
    at first , the netbook cannot turned on , the HDD light was not on .After a few months later and tries, the netbook managed to turn on like normal . But after i finish using it and turned it off, the the next day, it happens again.
    I tried to take out the hdd and put it back, but nothing change.
    apit23,
    Try removing the HDD and boot the laptop up. Does that boot the laptop up?
    Try removing AC and battery then hold power for 10 secs then put everything back and see if it can boot up
    Next try taking out the ram and putting it back and see if it helps.
