Plugged in for 2 hrs after initial charge?

am I support to keep my power plugging in for 2 hrs when the initial charge in full (green) before unplug it & play with it until the battery is drain & leave it sleep for 5 hrs before charging again?

Until you've used the computer for a while (and thus given it some experience on which to base its estimate of your likely battery life in the sort of usage that's typical for you), the estimates it provides will be meaningless no matter which processor you're using. In fact those estimates are never very reliable, and provide no basis at all for comparing one MBP's or battery's performance against another or against Apple's claims of battery life. The only figure that is worth comparing against anything is the measured amount of running time you actually get on a charge.
You will get the most accurate time-remaining estimates possible if you always use your machine exactly the same way, visiting the same websites, doing the same amount of photo editing, gaming, Youtube video watching, etc. The more your usage varies, the less useful the time-remaining estimates will be. Opting to display the percentage of charge remaining provides more reliable information than displaying the estimated time remaining.

  • Can i leave my power adaptor plug in to mba 2011 after fully charging it?

    Hi all,
I was wondering whether i can leave my power adaptor plug in to my mba 2011 even after its gully charged?
    Appreciate all feedbacks!

Yep!  No problem with that.  I would cycle the battery once a month or so (lt the battery completely drain then fully re-charge).
I love my 11" MacBook Air!

  • Icloud sent out reply messages for old invitations after initial sync

After starting iCloud  synchronisation from my MBP i started to receive out of office messages from people that once hat sent an invitation to me, that I had accepted.
It seems, that in the process of syncing my calendar to iCloud all past meeting invitations were confirmed again by iCloud!!! One person got over 100 mails from me or iCloud respectivly.
One person got over 100 of those mails. I am using my calendar in a business enviroment and am not pleased about this behaviour. The worst thing is, that I don't even know, who these messages were sent to, there ist no sent-folder or similar as far as I know.

This has now happened to me TWICE!  ACK!
The first time it happened was when I upgraded to Lion a few months back, and was more or less forced into setting up iCloud (I wasn't even sure I wanted it but thought I'd give it a test spin, but then couldn't turn it off again without it removing all my calendar entries from my local iCal).  As with everyone else, all the old meeting request acknowledgments mysteriously and for no good reason went out and I looked like a complete fool (and btw, for those that are suspecting Exchange, it isn't just an Outlook/Exchange problem because I'm NOT on Outlook/Exchange, but I interact with customers that are on Outlook/Exchange and who send out meeting requests).  I didn't know how to get it squared away and was afraid to touch anything for fear it would happen again until visiting a 'Genius' at the Apple Store who said that I can't synch with iTunes and iCloud, and I also have to be careful when synching between multiple devices (my wife and I share contacts and calendars from the same account on two separate iPhones).  So after a frustrating and embarrassing first experience, I thought I was squared away, but then...
This past weekend, it all happened again.  All the old meeting acknowledgments went out, again, to the same group of people that got them the first time!  So, not once but twice, all my business contacts got meeting accepted messages from me for meetings that were as much as three years old!
Now after reading Mark J P's post, I'm not sure if it was something I did (I was attempting to synch contacts to my wife's iPhone via iTunes this weekend), or if it was just another glitchy weekend for iCloud and had nothing to do with me, but whatever the case, it boils down to two inexcusable bugs, in my opinion:
1).  Meeting Accepted messages should not be sent for ancient meetings, ESPECIALLY when said messages have already been sent.
2).  Users should be notified that a message is going to go out, and be allowed to decline it.
After these two totally unacceptable blunders, I wanted nothing more to do with iCloud, but when I went to turn it off, it again threatened to delete all calendar entries (though you can choose to keep your contacts when turning off iCloud, there was no way that I could see to prevent it from deleting calendar entries).  So I googled around until I found a thread that told me to:
    1) export all my calendars now being held hostage by iCloud,
    2) create new local empty calendars, and
    3) import the exported calendar data into the new local calendars.
Then, iCloud made good on its threat and deleted all my iCloud calendar data when I shut it off, and I am now able to synch my contacts and my new local calendars the way I used to -- with iTunes -- and I am finally free of iCloud's evil clutches!
I am honestly dumbfounded at how terrible this experience has been.  I can't believe I am anything other than a very typical user (that shares one iTunes account for multiple devices and accepts meetings from business colleagues that use Exchange), and that Apple would release something as abysmal as iCloud to wreak the havoc that it has.

  • TS2634 1st gen iPad has suddenly quit showing that it's charging.  I found that if it's shut it down and plugged in for 12+ hours, it will charge, but when in use, the battery drains quickly.  When connected to the Mac, it doesn't link with iTunes.

Is this a problem that can be easily fixed?  I'm guessing it's a problem with the charger connector, possibly??

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. It's just the battery sign - nothing else. I've tried to reboot by holding down both power and home key for 10+ seconds, waiting for the apple logo - but nothing happens. It's plugged into the imac at the moment. I tried to recharge it overnight using the normal charger - but no luck. It went dead during a Skype call with a friend - even though it was powered into the mains - albeit at a low battery level at the time

My ipod sank in water by accident for 1 hour, after lay drying for 1 month, I connect it with my Mac, it show a dark apple and began to charge, after few hrs, it showed fully charge, but after I pressed, it became a dark screen, but it shows a dark apple everytime I connect the Mac, what can I do? I will try my best to save it, I love this ipod very much as it's a present from my dear.

After drying for a month and it's still not working, it's almost certainly suffered hardware damage and will need to be replaced. You can learn what Apple will charge to replace it here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/faq/
BTW, you posted originally in the iPod touch forum. It's best if you post in the forum specifically for your product; you'll get the most applicable responses that way.

He iPod most likely died or broke on its own

    See the not-charging topic of:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    Have you tried another cable?
Another charging source? Does iTunes see the iPod when you connect to your computer?
Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

  • My iPhone4 won't turn on even after being charged for 1 hour and when I plug it into my computer nothing happens

My iPhone4 won't turn on even after being charged for 1 hour and when I plug it into my computer nothing happens. PLEASE HELP

I have a similar (if not the exact same) problem! Here are some more details if they are helpful.
My iPhone 4 died earlier today and will not turn back on. It seemed that the battery died while it was not in use. I attempted to charge it on one charging cord in multiple wall outlets and none worked. Assuming it was a malfunction in the cord, I took my phone home to try charging it there.
Again, I attempted charging it in multiple outlets with a different cord than previously used. None of these seemed to work, though they would flash the Connect to Power screen for a brief moment before returning to a black screen. I assumed that my phone was simply so depleted of battery that it needed a long charge.
I charged it for 30+ minutes without any success, then attempted to charge it through my MacBook instead of through a wall outlet. iTunes did not even recognize that my phone plugged in (and still hasn't). I've attempted charging it for an extended period of time (1+ hour) with no luck. Sometimes when I press the Power button it will flash the Connect to Power screen once more before returning to black.
The Apple logo never appears, nor does any apparent progress on charging. I have attempted holding down the Power and Home buttons simultaneously for 10 - 30 second increments. Still no luck. There is no reason anything should be happening with this phone that I can identify.
I have no warranty and just recently replaced my previous phone which had had similar problems before completely crashing. This is a phone new to me that was previously used but in almost new conditions and factory reset by Apple prior to my purchase.
Does this mean that my phone battery is dead?
Is there anything else I can do??

  • Is it good or bad for the battery to keep the powercord plug in after complete charge.

Is it good or bad for the battery to keep the powercord plug in after complete charge.

It does no harm. It won't over charge.

  • After upgrading to Yosemite under sleep mode for few hrs battery is getting discharged fully.

    System information
Mac book Pro 13 inch Retina  Early 2013
    Processor  - 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5
    Memory - 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics - Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
    Storage capacity - 500 GB
    OSX - 10.10
Ever since I have upgraded from Mavericks to Yosemite - battery consumption has increased.
and MOST CRUCIAL ISSUE IS - under sleep mode battery is getting drained like anything ...
for eg - I had 70% charge last night and it got completely drained when I got up in the morning.
there was no charge left in the battery after 6 hrs under sleep mode and it is happening for last 5 days every night...
I have already tried various things as troubleshooting....
    Apple hardware test.
    SMC
    emptying caches etc....
observing activity monitor and finding any program taking more energy etc... (nothing is found)..
      L3 Cache: 3 MB
      Memory: 8 G

    UPDATE: Resolved!
Disabled all login items but problem persisted on normal boot. Resetting SMC and PRAM had no effect. After booting into Safe Boot, problem did not exist. Looked in console logs and saw this right as problem started to occur:
10/20/14 6:49:07.004 PM com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.gspy.MO3V2Daemon[93967]) Could not find and/or execute program specified by service: 2: No such file or directory: /Library/MO3V2/MO3V2Daemon.app/Contents/MacOS/MO3V2Daemon
This pertains to the Steelseries WoW MMO gaming mouse. Ran the uninstall.command from Applications for this mouse software and rebooted. Fixed.
Light on MagSafe connector is orange, battery shows as charging, fan is not running constantly. I can't begin to understand how this would effect the battery charging functions but, after uninstalling this, the problem was resolved. Hope this will help someone else.
