Plugged in my friends ipod and mine disappeared

I recently plugged in my friends ipod (nano) into my computer and it shows in itunes. Then I unpligged his, plugged in mine and mine now shows up as an external E; drive. His ipod still shown in my itunes, it is unplugged. Now my ipod spinns around real fast and shows his songs on it. The properties of my ipod in E; still show 18 GB used, so it seems that my songs are still on my ipod but i cannot see them. What happened? And is there a way to get rid of his ipod in my itunes?

Open iTunes (on your computer), go to the Store Menu and select "Authorize This Computer" follow the prompts.

I have and iPod (4th generation if it matters) and just recently bought a Mini. They will both be used on the same PC. I have not plugged the Mini into my PC because I do not want to loose the music that is currently on the Mini or take a chance of messing anything else up. Ipod And Mini Cooper

I have a brand new 5.5 Generation Ipod Video, and a 2006 mini cooper with the factory installed ipod adaptor. When I plug the adaptor into the ipod (it's a regular dock connector), they recognize each other at first, but after one or two songs, I am no longer able to switch tracks or playlists. It seems like the ipod freezes up. Then when I go to remove the ipod from the adaptor, the screen is stuck on the "ok to disconnect" screen that shows when the ipod is connected. I'm forced to reset the ipod every time I take it out of the car. Any ideas why the ipod and the adaptor don't seem to be working? Everything is fine for one or two songs, and then something happens and it gets stuck. The ipod came with firmware 1.2, and I have itunes 7.0.1 on my computer. The mini dealership advised me to contact apple, they say it's not the adaptor causing the problem. Help!

Here's an idea, but you may not like it. I have had success in "down-dating" my iPod to software verion 1.1. Every time I've updated my iPod to any software version after 1.1, I too lose functionality of the iPod with my Mini's controls after two or three songs.
Sure, you're working on older iPod software, but the audio quality doesn't change. If you have games and other things on your iPod 5G that requires the latest software, you'll have to tolerate your un-functioning iPod in your Mini. Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

Check to see if they are on your calendar on icloud.com. If they aren't, all you can do is try to restore to your last backup, although it isn't clear that calendar events are included in the iCloud backup.

The computer can tell the difference between your two iPods. When you first plugged each one in, you named them and the computer recognizes each one as a separate disk.
Now, when you plug in your iPod, and you are looking in iTunes at your iPod contents, you will see four buttons in the bottom right corner of iTunes - the first one is to display iPod options. Click on this, and under the music tab, select "Automatically update selected playlists only". Then, you scroll through your playlists and select only those you want to be transferred to your iPod. Your mother can do the same thing. Now you can each make your own playlists from the same music library, and only those songs you want to go onto your iPod will transfer when you plug it in. You can make the same selections for all the other options too (video, podcats. photos, etc), so that you only have to have what you want on each iPod.
I have two iPods, a new 5g video iPod and an ancient 1g iPod, and have no problems syncing each of them with different playlists and options.

I had an Ipod shuffle and it was stolen. Now I am wanting to install on another type of Ipod. I tried putting on a friends Ipod and it would not let me becuase itunes did not reconize it. You should be able to plug in a new iPod to your existing iTunes account and start using it. You do not have to remove your shuffle from anywhere or anything.
The issue with your friend's iPod is something else going on. If you get a new ipod and it does that, post back.

5th gen ipod and iplay monster transmitter question...

I have the 5th gen. ipod and i just bought the iplay ipod transmitter, so that i can play my ipod through the fm radio station in my car...but when i plugged it in my ipod and followewd instructions..nothing happened..i even took it back and traded another 1 and it still wont work...is it my ipod or is the iplay transmitter just not compatible with the ipod/video? please help..im getting very frustrated with apple..they put out the new ipod with no accessory`s to match, what a bummer!!

I think I have the same cable that you are talking about and it works just fine for my 4th and 5th gen ipods. All I had to do was plug it into the cig lighter and then select a clear channel for me it was 89.1 and matched it with the push button on the Iplay.

I have no idea how it works with Itunes and associating to a certain Ipod. Will I lose my downloaded songs from Itunes because I am trying to move them to a new Ipod or does it matter?

You won't lose anything. You will be fine. Just plug up your new iPod and you will be good to go.

IPod and laptop sound in a room

I am designing a yoga studio and want sound in the room. With my experience yoga teachers have their own ‘song list’ on an iPod or laptop and want to plug in to the amplification system when they teach. What I would like to offer in the room is the ability to plug their devices into the in room sound system. An iDock would be fine but this would not allow teachers to plug in their laptops. Is there an application on the market (like a wall iJack) that would allow plug in of both iPods and laptops?

It downoladed the purchased songs, but it took off all the songs he put on there. Is there ANY way to get them back?

Have your friend put them back on. That's how the songs got on there in the first place.
