Plugged in, not charging - PLEASE HELP
Hi,
I have a T61 and from yesterday my battery is not charging. I have a 9 cell battery and when I plug in the AC adapter, it shows "plugged in, not charging" status on the battery icon in the system tray. Could someone please help asap?
Thanks,
Animesh
so if you unplug the ac does the battery discharge?
Try to uninstall Thinkvantage power manager and then reinstall it.

HP Probook 4510S says "Plugged in Not Charging," little help from tech support
Hi there,
I have a two year old HP Probook 4510S that has had a ton of problems. The most recent of which was an error message every time I turned on the computer saying "Batter is critically low" and it stopped charging and said that power was 0% (it continued to work though if it was plugged in and would die immediately if the plug was removed). I replaced the battery ($108), which took about a month to receive because HP apparently sent the store the battery that goes with the new model of Probook and said it would fit in the old model (it didn't and had to be sent back). When I finally got the new battery it worked for about a day and then I noticed that the message said "Plugged in, not charging" and when the charger isn't plugged in the battery seems to deplete rapidly. Now it's at 36% and not charging.
I spoke to someone today at tech support and she said because it's out of warranty they couldn't help me, but that I should "try a friend's charger" to diagnose the problem myself, as though everyone has the same charger. When I said I didn't have access to another laptop to try another charger she just repeated that I need to try it on a different charger to see if it's a problem with the battery or the charger. But that if it's the battery and I provide them with proof of purchase they could replace that. The battery is brand new and doing the same thing as the last battery, so I doubt this is the problem. I said that I had seen messages all over the internet discussing this problem and that no one seemed to have the answer and she said "Those are on the internet, we haven't substantiated those claims." I'm shocked that HP doesn't seem to care that they get a bad reputation for offering so little help if a product is out of warranty. Because of this experience I doubt I would purchase another product from them, and I would warn others against it too. I've had more computer problems with HP than any other brand of laptop I've had or any of my friends/family have had. In the meantime, has anyone else had this problem? From the forums I've read it seems that occasionally people find solutions, but none seem to be working for me. Any insight would be much appreciated.I did a BIOS update on my ProBook 4530s and it took care of the problem

My recently purchased Macbook pro is and everything is as i excpected and works like a dream
That is until i disconnect the charger and suddenly everything gets incrediby clunky and slow?

I have hardly any programmes installed still have over 470Gb free on hard drive
i have run tests through the utility function with no faults reported but cant seem to solve the issue
Has anybody else experienced this? are there any quick fixes or will i have to make the journey to the apple store to get it looked at ??

Particularly:
Battery does not charge
Verify that the outlet being used is working.
Try another USB power adapter if available.
If no other USB power adapter is available, try connecting to a high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode.
Try another USB cable if available.
iPhone or iPod touch displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive
If you see the image below, charge the iPhone or iPod touch with USB power adapter for at least 15 minutes.
You should see this image when iPhone or iPod touch begins to charge:
If the screen still displays the low-battery icon, try turning the iPhone or iPod touch off and then on again.

If anyone could help that would be amazing!!I've noticed the same thing on my 13" rMBP. Plug in the MagSafe 2, and sometimes the light comes on instantly. Sometimes there is a 20 second delay before the charging indicator kicks in. And occasionally, the light has turned off hours after it has been on for awhile.
Anyone else seeing this issue? If it is widespread, it could just be a firmware update to fix. -
Please help !! - G560e will not charge - PLEASE help!!
I bought a secondhand G560e last week and have been very happy with it , but now it is failing to charge.
When the power supply is unplugged the led glows steadily but when it is plugged into the notebook the led flickers very faintly and the notebook will nor charge.
I have tried it with the battery out and it does the same.
Please advisehi cornwallray,
Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
When you turn the computer ON with just the AC adapter plugged-in, does the computer turn ON?
if it does and the charging port doesn't wiggle then there's no problem with the DC jack (this is the connector on the laptop) and also the AC adapter and your battery might have already worn-out over time.
if it doesn't turn ON, try to take out both AC adapter and battery and press and hold the power button for 30secs and re-insert the AC adapter. If same problems, the AC adapter might be bad. If the charging port wiggles, that might be faulty too.
These are the usual battery LED indicators:
1. steady yellow / amber or white light means the battery is charging
2. blinking / steady red light means the battery is not charging (usually comes with a beep sound on selected models)
3. steady green light means the battery is full
4. power light ON / battery light off means no battery detected.
Hope this helps.

BRAND New laptop, battery not charging, please help me
Hi, I received my macbook today, and the battery is not charging. When my battery was still charged, I could use my macbook. The led on the charger was green. When it got to 0%, the laptop continued to work. So, I removed the charger (brillant idea) and it stop. Now, I can't start my laptop, and the led is yellow. The battery can't charge more than one "square" (which I can see on the battery itself). When I try to boot, I get the starting white screen, but then it shut down.
What should I do?
Message was edited by: mguillemetteI forgot to tell...
I tried to remove the battery, push the power button for 5 sec, and then restart, but without success.
After 15 minutes of "charging" (while the laptop is off), the led turns from yellow to green.

Nokia E71 Does not charge ****Please Help*****
Hi everyone,
I purchased this phone second hand and was completely in love with it. It was working for about 2 weeks and suddenly stopped charging. Does anyone know how to fix this? It is no longer under warranty. When I plug it in, the battery bar does not increase.
I appreciate your timeRemove the battery.. Insert.. then retry..
Check by charging thru' a different wall outlet..
If you have access to another compatible charger.. try with that.. or If your charger is compatible with some other phone... try charging the other phone..
If you find that the charger / wall outlet is not the problem.. then Do you know.. since how long the first user was using the phone .and whether the battery was ever replaced ? If the battery is older than 1-1/2 year.. It may need a replacement..
..also may be the case that the Phone s having some Hardware issue.. -
My iphone 4s will not charge PLEASE HELP
it started about a week ago my phone wouldnt charge i bought a brand new usb connecter it worked fine once. it would only charge now and again or the phone had to be completely dead for it to start charging. now once my battery runs dead it says its charging but once it comes back on it stops charging and im currently stuck with 1% so my phone works for 5mins then goes dead again!!! i have recently upgraded the software to 5.1.1
Hi there
Can you please let me know what they say tomorrow? Mine is doing the same thing, and it seems to be happening to lots of people. Did you install OS 5.1.1 by any chance?
My phone has to be completely dead to charge, although it doesn't show the charging icon. I can't connect to iTunes or anything, it's really annoying!
People keep suggesting that it's a problem with the cables (it's not as my brother's phone charges, plus mine does if it's switched off), or there's dust etc in the USB port (there's not but I cleaned it anyway), but I think otherwise as it's too much of a coincidence that so many on the various forums are experiencing it.
Thanks, and I hope you get yours fixed -
Plugged in, not charging. Windows 10
Hi! i recently upgraded to windows 10, now my laptop won't charge even though its plugged in. The following message is shown (Plugged in, not charging) Kindly help me with this problem.
I don't think my laptop doesn't support windows 10 because of the following: 1) The windows 10app diagnosed it to be compatible with windows 10 2) This error which i recieve isn't consistant, it will stay for a couple of days, then disappear for the next 7 days, only to show up again late. If my pc didn't support windows 10 then i think it wouldn't support windows 10 everyday instead of just randomly working,

Lenovo G700 Plugged In Not Charging
My Lenovo G700, which is a week old, is saying that it is "plugged in, not charging". It was working fine until last night when I closed the lid to put it into sleep mode for the first time. I have checked that it is set to maximum battery life and it is still not working. It's stuck on 98%. I am severely disappointed that something like this has happened a week into having my first Lenovo. I hope someone can help me rectify this problem.
hi Zadeth,
Welcome to the Forums.
Can you try to:
1. Turn off the machine and remove the AC adapter and battery
2. Hold the power button for 10secs then plug the AC adapter back in.
3. Turn the computer ON and when it gets to Windows, slide the battery back in place and observe the charge.
Alternatively, try to use the battery charge until it asks you to plug the AC adapter and observe if the charge goes all the way to 100%.
Let me know your findings
Regards

Lenovo b570e "Plugged In, Not Charging"
Recently Bought the new laptop Lenovo B570e.
Few days back, the battery icon said "Plugged In, Not Charging"
After googling with the issue I found one fix that worked, it is as follows:
Disconnect AC
Shutdown
Remove battery
Connect AC
Startup
Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
Shutdown
Disconnect AC
Insert battery
Connect AC
Startup
However, today i experienced the same problem and i went for the same fix as above, but it didnt work...
Please Suggest me a permanent solution for this problem!

G560 64-bit Windows 7 : Plugged in ,Not Charging
Hi,
I'm facing a problem with my Lenovo G560 (64-bit Windows 7 and i3 ). I'm not able to power on my laptop without connecting to the power outlet. Once the Windows started the battery icon shows 100%(Plugged in , not charging). If I remove it from the power it is getting shutdown immediately. Will it be a battery problem ? Any OS update might not have compatible with the hardware or drivers ?
Can any one please suggest a solution for this problem?
Thanks in Advance !
Regards,
AswathyHi
Welcome to community
Since you are not getting any backup from the battery and you are able to use the system when Ac adaptor is connected
Please remove your battery from the system , then reconnect it back again . Now connect AC adaptor
Also try updating the Bios

HP G62-b13SA Notebook - "Plugged in, not charging"
Hi,
I have an issue with charging my HP HP G62-b13SA Notebook PC (on Windows 7 Home Premium). I've noticed that when I plug in the adapter, the icon says 'plugged in, not charging'.
However, I notice that sometimes it will charge for between a few seconds to about a minute (when I first connect the charger) with the orange light showing before I get the 'not charging' message and the light turns blue.
I have had the laptop for nearly 3 years and recently had to purchase a replacement battery as the original had gone completely flat.
I've tried running the battery down and charging it, but no luck and the HP support assistant said the battery is ok
Thanks,
JonathonHi @Lewistrick
Thank you for your query.
I grasp that until a few days ago your battery was working well but now it will not charge. You followed some suggestion in the forum but they did not help.
You ran the battery test and were informed you need to replace this one. You are concerned that the test may be faulty and that you do not need to replace it.
Here are two documents to help you understand battery life and provides an alternative method to test the battery to ensure the first test was correct.
