Plugging an Ipod into a pc that does'nt t have Itunes
How do you eject an Ipod that has been accidentally plugged into a pc that does not have Itunes installed?
Also it is not being shown as another drive on the pc, and the Ipod mini screen states 'DO NOT UNPLUG'.

Use the safely remove hardware icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject.
Failing that, reset it and disconnect when the Apple logo appears.

Try a different USB port on your computer. If your using a PC, the port on a keyboard is not strong enough; plug it into a USB port on the computer tower.
Be sure to wait awhile; mine sometimes takes a couple minutes to connect.
Another tip would be to open i-tunes before plugging ipod in.
If it still doesn't work, try resetting your ipod by turning the hold button on and off, then pressing and holding the center and menu buttons until the Apple logo shows up. When ipod returns to main screen, plug it into the computer again.
If nothing works, you may have a bad connection cord. -

When there are photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll, the iPhone is also recognized as a digital camera when connected to your computer or should if there is not a problem with the computer.

Whichever method you choose, Windows should automatically recognize your camera or card reader when you plug it into your computer (if it doesn't, see Troubleshoot camera connection problems or Tips for solving problems with USB devices). -
When i plug my ipod into my computer it is not recharging. The computer doesn't even acknowledge that it is plugged in. Any ideas why? It does have power left so i can use it but i want to recharge it of course. Any input is appreicated.
Plug it into the wall using the supplied charger.

I've been deleting information I don't want in the "Sort..." fields (like getting rid of "Deluxe Edition" markers, etc.), but when I plug my iPod into my computer iTunes repopulates the fields I deleted. This only happens for a few artists, and it's the same artists every time this happens. How do I stop it from doing that? It makes it measurably harder for me to control the organization of my library.

When I plug my ipod into my desk top my computer will not recognize the ipod in the usb port. I checked my usb port with one of my flash drives and it works fine. My ipod is in stuck in recovery mode, so has to be gone thru on itunes. Please help me
Yes, I think so... But what's odd here (to me) is that it actually matters what song the iPod was playing before being connected to that USB port. What happens if you connect the iPod when it is not playing any song? It seem like either the car audio system knows where to look for the iPod's song files, or it doesn't.
If you have a USB flash drive, try putting a few song files on it, and connecting it to that USB port. That's probably the primary reason for that USB port, so customer can attach USB flash drives with song files. If that works, and you can properly browse and play songs from the USB flash drive, you should just get a $5 8GB USB flash drive, fill it with your "car songs," and leaving it connected to the car audio system. That would be more convenient that remembering to connect and disconnect your nano all the time, and less wear-and-tear on the nano. -

Hi I tried to install ios7 last night and the ipod touch now has a frozen screen with the itunes logo and the usb logo I plugged the ipod into my laptop and tried to restore only to be met with the message 3194 error cannot restore this ipod please help thanks
Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

I am not sure about everything, but there is something that may fix some of your problems. Go to System Preferences, and choose the "Universal Access" preference pane. In Universal Access, turn off VoiceOver, Zoom (seeing tab), Sticky Keys, Slow Keys (Keyboard tab), and Mouse Keys (Mouse tab). Make sure the "Enable access for assistive devices" checkbox, which is at the bottom of the preference pane. From there, look at other options and see if they are things you want turned off, or changed from how they are set. If you don't know what different options do, click on the help icon at the bottom left corner of the window. And if you are still baffled, ask here and someone will tell you what it does.
If you use any of the universal access options or think they could be useful, feel free to leave them on.
Also, go to the Keyboard and Mouse preference pane, choose the Keyboard Shortcuts tab, and make sure there are no strange keyboard shortcuts set that may interfere with the keys you are having issues with.
Did you install any new software before this started happening, and if so, how many days before it started happening?

My 120GB IPod classic is not recognized by my Windows 7 PC. When I plug the ipod into my computer I receive a message saying that the USD device is not recognized. The Device Manager lists it as an Unknown Device. I've tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it, but it had no affect. The odd thing is that our other iPod (160 GB Classic) is recognized on the same computer using the same USB cable. When I plug the ipod in question into another PC, the PC seems to recognize the iPod and lists it in Windows Explorer (iTunes is not installed on this machine). There seems to be something out of wack with this PC/iPod combo. Any thoughts on what I can do to try to resolve this issue? Recently, U2 music appeared on my ipod without my requesting it or wanting it. I was able to delete all of the songs except for one. How do I delete the last one from my ipod? The song does not show up in iTunes when I plug my ipod into the computer. The version installed on my ipod is 7.1.2(11D257).

I plugged my iPod into the computer and it says that my iPod is synced with another iTunes library, but it's not. So all my music and apps are gone. What can I do to remind the computer its the right iTunes library and get all my stuff back?
Same as you would if you bought a pc; copy everything from your old computer to your new one. Then you can just sync everything from the new computer, as you did with the old one.

Only if you use a third-party utility such as Phone to PC and only if you use the same Apple ID for your other computer.
