Plugging old iPhone into New Laptop
My son just got a new HP laptop with Vista. When he plugs in his iPhone to the new laptop to charge it, he gets a message asking him if he wants to activate his iPhone. It's already activated. How does he bypass this message?

Is it possible that it is simply asking him to erase and sync to the new iTunes library?

My laptop got formatted and so did all my itunes information like music, contacts, and games. So how can I get all that back because if I just plug my iPhone into the laptop all my stuuf that was on my phone will be gone? help please

Type "apple mobile device service" into the search bar at the top of this page by "Support" and read the resulting articles.

My photos from my photos stream all deleted when i plugged my iphone into my laptop
i had over 900 photos and i plugged my phone into my laptop so it would charge and later that night when i checked my photos i only had 100 left and last week it did it again,is therre a reason they delete?
check your setting in iTunes>your phone>photos (menu across the top)

My husband plugged is phone into my laptap and it downloaded all of my contacts on to his phone. Now when we delete off each others phones it is deleting off of both phones. Is there anyway to turn it off on his phone. The Icloud account?

HT1695 plugged my Iphone into my laptop and its now showing these messages
there are two messages showing one on my itunes and one on the phone its self.
the one on ituens says "there is no sim card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate"
the one on the phone say "your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. try connecting your iphone to itunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes. if this problem persists, contact apple support at apple.com/support"
well the problem is persisting please help.Plug his iPhone into the computer it normally syncs with and sync it.

Why is nothing happening when I click on my itunes icon or when I plug my iphone into my computer?
Remove MacKeeper. It's garbage and will only cause you problems. It's possible that it is causing this problem.

I plugged my iphone into my laptop and the option to sync does not come up on my itunes or phone
I tried everything from restarting my phone, my laptop, unistalling itunes and reinstalling it and still do not know wy I can not sync my phone. The option never comes up when i plug in my phone. I literally did all I could HELP!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

help! I dont want to lose everything as I know its not all backed up. Tried doing that last week and it got to the end and then said cant back up :-/
Hack or Jail Break? Whats that?!! I have had my phone 16months with no other problem except the update i did which made the middle button stop working, although it was resolved (pretty much still sometimes get a prob!) with the next update Apple did.. After that I have been reluctant to plug iphone in, hence not backing up as regularly as I should do.
The error I get is "Itunes cannot read the iphone, go to the summary tab and restore factory settings.
Am resigned to that fact i have got to do it now :-( how do i get any data that was backed up, back on to my phone once i hae restored the settings?

All of my music is gone. I have no idea how to get it back and Im worried because it isnt showing up on available downloads.
Isn't iTunes 10.5 r 9 a beta release for developers? If that's the case then isn't there a special web site for developers to discuss issues (and they are not supposed to discuss them on the public forum)? If you're not a developer and have this through unofficial channels then I'm not sure you can expect full functionality.

Urgent Iphone with new laptop help needed!
ok so i did a fresh reinstall of leopard on my macbook without thinking about syncing my iphone.
now whenever i plug my iphone into my laptop it thinks its a camera and opens image capture and asks me what photos i want to download off it. It wont show up on the desktop or in itunes.
I have all the music, apps etc backed up on my machine. i do not however have backups of my contacts!
i have a backup of the iphone in itunes, but i cant get to a point of restoring the phone to the back up i have, as plugging it in does nothing.
there is a setting to erase all content and settings on the iphone, will this render it as if i had just bought it out of the shop, meaning i can resync with my 'new' laptop?
HELP!I managed to fix it myself in the end, with a slight work around. once i had reinstalled leopard, i noticed a utility called migration assistant. I used that to transfer my old user account off my time machine and restore all the settings etc. now my iphone syncs with my laptop again. hoorah!
Interestingly, i tried the migration assistant when installing leopard (the whole 'setting up your computer' process) but it refused to do anything. I would tell it what to restore from time machine, it would accept, and then sit there with an empty progress bar that did not move all night. And i mean all night! -

I understand you are trying to connect your iPhone to your computer so you can sync media to the iPhone, but when you connect your iPhone to your computer iTunes does not recognize the device. The steps to get this resolved will be different depending on if your computer is running Mac OS X or Windows. I’ll include both articles below.
